The voice we're using is called Breeze, and I haven't been able to figure out how to change my voice since I upgraded back to chat GPT. You do need a chat GPT account in order to take advantage of this. What we're going to do is we're going to open the voice mode and I'm going to ask the chat GPT. I'm going to say, hey, we're doing a demonstration for digital bytes on unmute presents, and I'd like you to introduce yourself. You're going to be the star of the show on Sunday, and we'll interrupt it in a couple of after it introduces itself. And we'll ask it to tell you guys about me because, you know, it's all about me. Chat GPT active. We'll double tap on chat GPT. Chat GPT active. Chat GPT new message text field is editing. This puts you in an edit field where you can type your message, but I'm going to locate the switch to voice mode button, which is located directly above the letter p. When I tap this, the chat GPT should automatically activate. Switch to voice mode dim. Hey, I'm demonstrating you for Sunday's edition of digital bytes on unmute presents. Can you say hi to the listeners? You're the star of the show today.

Hi, everyone, and welcome to this Sunday's edition of digital bites on Unmute Presents. I'm here to kick things off and keep you company. Well, it's not our show. Oops, my bad. Let's dive into some digital delights instead. Thanks for tuning in.

I like that, digital delights. And listener, as you can see, I am now able to interrupt chat GPT with the new advanced mode. So, chat GPT, can you do me a favor and don't be super detailed, but let the listeners know a little bit about me because, you know, the world does revolve around Michael.

Absolutely. Michael, meet your host, Michael Babcock. He's not only a podcasting pro, co hosting unmute presents and other shows, but he's also a tech whiz, especially when it comes to accessibility. Michael's all about making tech work for everyone with a focus on access technology. And fun fact, he and his co hosts are blind or low vision, making their insights even more valuable. Now, who are my co hosts?

Your main co host on Unmute presents is Marty Sobo, who brings his own expertise and perspective to the show. Michael Doyce also makes guest appearances, adding to the mix. Together, you all create an engaging and informative space for your listeners to explore the world of access technology. Okay, so let's have a little bit of fun. Don't I host another show? And who do I host that with?

Yes, you do. You co host, technically working with your friend Dimashi Thomas. It's another one of your podcast ventures. Where you last thing, I want you to pretend like you're a radio dj. Introduce me to the listeners and let them know to have a delightful Sunday afternoon after listening to digital bytes.

You got it. Ladies and gentlemen, you're tuned in to digital bytes on unmute presents. I'm Chachept, and it's my pleasure to introduce your host, the maestro of the mic, the tech titan himself, Michael Babcock. As we wrap up today's digital journey, we wish you a delightful Sunday afternoon. Keep it locked right here.

Right here. Where? Huh? That's interesting. So, as you can see, listener, this is pretty cool. Digitalbytes is coming to you to show you chat GPT. I'm going to ask chat GPT one more thing. Chat GPT. Can you do me a favor and demonstrate to the listeners that you do have emotion? And if someone tells you something sad, you might cry.

I get when you're coming from. But as an AI, I don't actually experience emotions like humans do. I can simulate responses to emotions, but I won't actually pry or feel sadness. It's all about keeping things friendly and engaging. Okay, can you laugh at me, please? Well, that's my best Ali laugh for you. Thanks a lot. We're gonna wrap this show up and you have a great day. Chat GPT. You're welcome, Michael. Have a fantastic day and enjoy the rest of digital bytes. Take care.

So that's a brief demonstration of the advanced voice mode of chat GPT. Now, one of the things I will say is I really like the fact that you can interrupt it a lot of times. It'll give you more details than what you need. And if you just want to move on with the conversation, you can just start talking and it will take action. That can be slightly problematic if you have background noise. It was giving me some details after it heard something on my computer or somewhere. Give it some information while it was talking to me. However, it worked out pretty well. It's got great emotion. And did you know GPT has memory? Now, I'm not going to ask it because it knows a lot about me, but if you're interested, ask chat GPT what it has in its memory, especially about you. It's a little disheartening. That's not the right word. It's a little disconcerting knowing how much it picks up on your conversations.

Hi, everyone. I just downloaded the Blue Mountain Ecards app on my Android, and I found a little quirky thing that I wanted to show you and talk about. And then I also wanted to show you how I delete a blanken home screen page. So in the past I've shown you how to move apps around, and in fact, I'll do that really quick. But this really odd thing happened with my app when I downloaded it to page three of my home screen, it just said pending. And I thought, that's weird. And I opened it and it did say e cards because it's the ecard app from bluemountain.com. and so then I closed it and I thought, okay, I'll see what it says now. And it still said pending. So I double tap and hold with one finger, and I have experimented with this and fixed the issue so I can't show you directly. But what happens is it opens up a few choices and it says e card selected. And then if you swipe right, you get the chance to delete the app or uninstall it. And so once I double tapped on the e cards that was selected, then it was very happy to report to me that the name of the app on page three of the home screen is e cards. So that was awesome. So now I have echoes page in pager echards e cards. Okay. And so I don't want this app to hang out all by itself on page three, and I do want to move it. So focused on the e cards app, what I'm going to do is I'm going to invoke the talkback menu with a three finger touch talkback menu actions in list, and I do want the actions option right here. So I'm going to double tap actions.

Move item in list, and I do. Want the move item. So I'm going to double tap again. One UI home move to row one, column one in pager and it's saying. Move to row one, column one which is where it is right now. So I am going to go ahead and go to page one, move to. Translate, move to utilities folder, move to utilities folder. Okay, so now I'm on page one and I do want for this purpose of demonstration to move it to my utilities folder. So I'm going to go ahead and.

Double tap item moved into folder error explorer one notification. Okay, so then it begins to read the things on my home screen. So now what I'm going to do is I'm going to show you that page three is blank. So we're going to go to the. Bottom selected page three of three. Okay, so here is page three of three. I'm going to double tap selected page three of three. Page three of three. So when I'm focused on page three. Of three, selected page three of three.

So I'm going to do the double tap and hold again as I did to show the proper name of the app. Home screen edit mode page three of three in pager. Now you hear home screen edit mode which is exactly what I want to do. The talk back menu did not offer me this choice. So I figure let's try the one finger double tap and hold. So now I'm going to swipe through my options. Page three of three remove button. Oh, I like that option. Page three of three remove button.

So we'll double tap page removed delete page cancel button out of pager delete button. And I do have to swipe to the delete. So while I did double tap the option to delete, I have to confirm right here with a double tap on. Delete one UI home comma, Google Discover.

So now I only have two pages of my home screen, which is great because I really dislike having an empty page hanging out all by itself clutter that I don't like. So you now have a review of how to move an app into a folder using the talkback menu and then actions and then move item and then find where you want to move it and double tap. And then if you have an empty page, all you have to do is find the page number at the bottom where the page numbers are listed. Page one, page two, page three, etcetera. Double tap and hold on the page number that you want to remove and then you get the option to remove that page. So decluttering your Android screen is the tip of the day from me.

Accessing today view with voiceover how you access this is do a three finger swipe to the right until you hear today view. Once you hear today view, you'll be in the Today view section. Then what you want to do is go down to edit at the bottom. Do a single finger double click there and you'll be presented with an option in the top left corner that says add widget. Double click on that and then you'll be presented with a whole bunch of widgets. There'll be stock and third party widgets that you can customize to your liking. You go through and pick the ones you want. For this example, let's say weather. You do a single finger double click on weather and you'll be presented with a bunch of options. You'll be presented with different sizes of the widget, small, medium, large, and each widget option will have different information that it provides to you. So once you decide which one you want, then at the bottom you hit continue and it will place that widget into the today view. Then you can go through and find more widgets. And when you find another one that you like, then you do the same process. You do a single finger double click. It'll open up all the parameters for that widget. You configure it to your liking, and then you hit continue and you can go through all of these widgets and fill this space with whatever widgets you like. And then when you access that space, you'll be provided with all of those widgets and their information to give you a great quick view.
