Hey all, Marty here. And today I want to talk to you about one of the new features that's in mail for iPhone. And that feature is called Contact Photos. And what that is is when you open up mail and then you'll see the list of all the people that sent you email. Next to their name on the left side you will see a contact photo. This is the same photo that shows up in their profile in your address book to represent that person. So some people like this and it's pretty cool and other people don't. So if you don't like it and you'd prefer to have extra real estate, the way you turn this off would be go Settings, then go all the way down to Apps, then go into Mail. Then you'll see down at the bottom turn on or off Contact Photos. So if it's on, you can turn it off. And if you want it on, if you would like to see how that looks, then you can turn it on and that's how you turn on or off Contact Photos in Mail.
Hi everyone, it's Chris with a digital bite for you. I am a very late come to the Shortcuts app and to the potential of using Siri Shortcuts. I'm not sure why, it just seemed kind of overwhelming. However, I do find that there is one very handy dandy way to use shortcuts in a way that doesn't seem overwhelming to me. Recently I was working with a student and we were exploring the Seeing AI app. And just for fun, to show this person what the app offered, I decided to go into the settings. Lo and behold, there's something about Siri shortcuts in there. So I wanted to show you that today. So with the app open you have the different channels at the bottom and there's a quick help button and then.
To the far left menu button, there. Is our menu button. So we're going to double tap that. Close button and we're going to go. In here and find Settings, Browse Photos. Button, help button, feedback button, settings button. There we go double tap seeing eye back button. Okay, so let's find these Siri shortcuts options here. Settings heading currency button. Configure Siri shortcuts button. Wow, there it is. So we're going to double tap and see what's in here.
Select the activities which you wish to use with Siri shortcuts heading. How cool is that? Now, before I explore this, none of these items were selected, but you will hear that some of them are selected. Selected recognize product selected recognize short text Selected recognize document. Those are the most common things that. I do recognize scene recognize currency, recognize.
World, and so forth. So you find that the items that I regularly do are selected. And so now what I'm going to do is I'm going to actually invoke a shortcut and you'll hear what's happening here. I have a little video capture card in an unopened box. It's what did Kris buy this week and I wanted to show you what it says for the short text on the box. So I will launch the shortcut by just holding in my side button and saying recognize short text Seeing a capture.
And it says video capture 60hz USB 3.03300. Nice. Okay, so it immediately launched the Seeing AI app and I held the phone camera over the little box and it immediately recognized that short text. So that's a way that you can readily access the Seeing AI app with the functions that you use most often just by asking the lady to perform that shortcut for you.
