Here's a quick tip regarding the App Store I wonder if you've ever run across a really great app or app developer and thought, I wonder what else they have to offer us in the Apple App Store. I recently thought this when I ran across an app called Tally, which is completely accessible and really awesome. So I noted that it was by Agile tortoise. I believe I've heard of agile tortoise before. So what I didn't know is that you could actually type agile tortoise into the search box in the app store. And up comes several apps that I've heard of. And I also though discovered that in between those apps by Agile tortoise, there are a few other things slipped in. So kind of note, what does voiceover say after the name of the app and who it's by? So when I typed in agile tortoise, I got things like simple scan, selfie drafts, the tally, quick counter, habit, tracking app terminology, dictionary, thesaurus, and more. And then a game called diced, which may or may not be accessible. I'll have to check it out, but I was really excited to know that app developers come up in the search box if you would like to find more apps by a certain developer. So there's your quick tip for the app store.
Hey all, Marty here. And today I want to show you how to check the storage on your iPhone. Generally, this will work the same way on an iPad. So what you want to do is go to settings, go to general, go to iPhone storage or iPad storage. If you're checking your storage on an iPad now, depending on the operating system that you're running on either your iPhone or your iPad, the wording may be just a little bit different. But for the most part, you get to the iPhone storage or the iPad storage. This same way, once you're in there, you'll see all the details. You'll be able to see how large your hard drive is. You'll be able to see how much you've used out of the space you have on your hard drive. Then it will show you a bunch of other information and details, such as apps, how much space they take over on your hard drive, and etcetera and so on. And you'll be able to go down and all that information will be there. It's really interesting to go through and see what you use, what you don't use, what you can get rid of, all of that good stuff. So, as always, make sure that you always have your stuff backed up. That way you know that it's safe if you have any issues with your phone or your hard drive. And that way you won't lose any data. Very important. Always back up, back up, back up. Super important. You never want to lose any data. So there you go. That's how to check your hard drive size on your iPhone and or your iPad.
So, recently on technically working, we've been talking about this level lock, and actually, more specifically, the level bolt. I told Demossi on one of the shows that, hey, this level bolt is kind of a little complicated to get installed, a little more than I thought. But I've got an amazing wife who did the chiseling, so I didn't overdo it, and she got it all set up. And I'd like to walk you through a little bit about the level lock, give you a brief demonstration today, and tell you who this might be right for. So, the level bolt, I might call it a level lock, but the one that I'm talking about specifically is the level bolt takes the inside of your deadbolt and replaces them with smart mechanical insides. This means that you unscrew the deadbolt from your door and you remove the part that sits inside of that round hole in your door. Now, that might sound a little complicated. It's really not. It was actually a lot easier than I thought it was going to be when I was playing with it. Once you get that removed, you simply insert the mechanics of the level bolt and then you put your lock back together. If you're following along, you might have realized the advantage to this when you're using new insides of your deadbolt, but the same outsides. You don't have to change the keys that you use to access your house. If you still want to use an analog key to open the door, great for individuals who are renting because your landlord still has the keys that they need in case of an emergency. Now, one caveat. If when you put your deadbolt back together and you turn the inside knob of the deadbolt and it is very stiff and difficult to turn, chances are you use the wrong insert. In the middle of the level bolt motorhouse, there's three different sizes and shapes, and one or two might look like they're the ones that fit. If again, it's super stiff to change, try one of the other options to see if it fits your bolt better. In their instructions. They do say, look at the design of your bolt and the mechanics to be able to match them up. And Mallory did look at them, but we ended up putting the wrong one in in the first place. Once you have this installed, you can use your phone to unlock the level bolt. There's an app called level Home that allows you to open that application and tap on your lock and unlock it, or tap on your lock and lock it. You also can invite people to access your home with the level home application. But we're slowly moving all of our stuff to Apple HomeKit. And level offers an additional accessory you can purchase with the level bolt that allows you to connect your level bolt to apple Home. This is called the level Connect. It's a box that you connect to your network and that gives you the capability of controlling all of your level devices within Apple Home. I think it also lets you do other home devices. I don't have an Alexa here, but maybe I'll set that up and play with that a little bit later on. Once you have the level bolt installed and you use your home app or the level home app, you'll easily be able to access your home with your phone. Now, before we go to my front entrance and give you a brief demonstration of the level bolt and the sounds it can make, I want to give you one caveat for individuals who might be shopping for level equipment. If you see the level keypad, do not buy this unless you have some site or family members in your life have site that will be using it. The level keypad is a touchscreen. It has no physical buttons. And honestly, I haven't been able to get it to work for me independently. I do have a pin on the level keypad, but I am unable to interact with this. It does sit on the outside of our house in case someone needs to access the house or we want to let someone in and we can give them a pin over the phone and they can enter that pin quickly. Oh, did I mention that because the level bolt integrates with Apple home, I can now unlock my door with my voice and with my watch. But let me show you how it sounds unlocking it from my phone. Open home.
All right, so we're going to tap at the top of the screen. I'm going to flick to the left once and there's no alert on the security. So I'm going to double tap on the show security. And that is now selected. Now if I trim my finger down the screen or flick, I'll find entrance, which is a heading and level bolt locked. It is currently locked right now. And so the deadbolt is vertically straight up and down. I can physically feel that. Now if I double tap on lock.
Level bolt lock level bolt unlocking button. And now the deadbolt is horizontal and. I can feel that. And you heard the deadbolt unlock. Now I'm going to go ahead and lock it again. And I do that by locating entrance heading unlock button. And it says level unlock. I'm going to lock that now. Says locking. And now the level bolt is locked.
