In this episode, we interview Dr. Harriet Barlow. Dr. Barlow is the current Executive Director of The Intersection Program, UNLV's Academic Multicultural Resource Center. This is a program that advocates and supports the needs of first-generation college students of color and staff so that they can successfully navigate their academic careers. During this episode, Dr. Barlow describes the challenges that she and The Intersection faced at the onset of the COVID pandemic as well as her take on what's happened with the Hey Reb statue and social justice in our community. As Dr. Barlow describes, within the struggles, came many opportunities for individuals and programs to come together and help one another to cope with these deep issues.
