Prof. Gunnar Winsnes Knutsen is professor of Early Modern History at the University of Bergen in Norway. He specialises in Norwegian and Spanish history, witchcraft and digital humanities. Born in Sweden, and eventually arriving in Norway as a young child presented linguistic advantages for the future academic career. This conversation is focuses on the reasons for which Prof. Knutsen chose to study history, his academic path and reflections on the educational system in Norther and Western Europe.
