SHAPE Elementary TOY Matthew Bassett

Matthew Bassett is a physical education teacher at San Jose Charter Academy (K-8) in West Covina, CA. Matthew earned a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology, California Single Subject Teaching Credential, and a Masters of Science in Kinesiology all from California Polytechnic University, Pomona. He is an active member of CAHPERD (California Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance). Matthew has presented over numerous topics that include gymnastics, creating movement tasks from cognitive concepts, multicultural games, and lots of sessions on various types of technology integration. Matthew was recently named the SHAPE America Nation Elementary Teacher of the Year.
