For this episode, I had the incredible opportunity to sit down with the filmmaker whose movies I've been watching since childhood, the films that have inspired me throughout the years, the G.O.A.T - Mr. Shyam Benegal. Witnessing the man whose contribution to Hindi cinema is nothing short of a legacy, who discovered gems like Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Shabana Azmi and many more, truly felt like a dream come true! I delved into discussions about his acclaimed creations like Mandi and Bharat Ek Khoj, Directors like Guru Dutt, Satyajit Ray, the political landscape of the '70s till the Emergency, his fanciest meal and whether or not he’s a boring man. From talking about his favourite drink to tales of envy, nostalgia & navigating fame, Shyam Benegal holds nothing back. He even shared his opinions(and love) on Jawaharlal Nehru, his favourite Indian films, whether he prefers Coppola or Scorsese, and why he agreed to this interview (or did he??)
