For a moment, you are unsure what to do. Turning about, you scan the horizon for any sign of some one else to confirm what you're seeing, but there is no one to be found. After one final look behind, you step boldly into the forest and beyond the first line of trees. But something doesn't feel right. Perhaps it's the sudden shift in temperature, or the way the hairs are now standing up on the back of your neck. It's hard to describe, but it's almost as if the forest
itself is watching you. In a panic, you spin back round to leave, then gasp in horror. The road has gone. In fact, all of it has, the rolling hills, the golden fields, and the bright blue sky. All of it has been replaced by nothing but a deep and dense birch tree forest. You spin round frantically, trying to figure out where you came from just moments ago, looking for any sign of your bike, but it's no use. All around, for as far as you can see, it is nothing
but tree after tree stretching out before you. Hurriedly, you pull your phone from your pocket to call home. Come on, you say, with quiet frustration, as you wait for the reception bars to appear, but no matter how much you wave it above your head, the bars don't materialize, and now you are really beginning to panic. You feel it hijacking your body, first as a tingling at the extremities, before it begins to creep inwards toward your chest. You feel its weighty grip as your heart begins to beat
faster and faster. You screw your eyes shut, struggling to catch your breath as the moment threatens to spiral away from you. It's okay, you tell yourself, it's going to be okay. You've got this. You just need to find a way out. Then your heart begins to slow, your breaths become deeper, and finally you regain control. Opening your eyes, you look all around and tell yourself to think. Just then,
you hear something in the distance. It sounds like running water, But just as you are about to head toward it, you notice what seems to be the slightest hint of a path heading off in the opposite direction. If you choose to follow the sound of water, go to episode four, or if you choose to follow the path, go to episode five. Now it's time to take care of yourself, to make time for you.
