Episode description

We're joined by Kenzo Shibata (@kenzoshibata) of the Class Time Podcast (@ClassTimePod) and Twitch channel (twitch.tv/classtime) to talk about school reopenings, Chicago politics, American Empire, and the future of the Democratic Party.

After Matt (@djtomhanks) and Tony (@_TonyWestside)catch up on current events and consider the ongoing debates about voting for neoliberals, we debut a new weekly history segment with a look at the Navajo Code Talkers.

Then, we sit down with Kenzo, a Chicago teacher and member of last year's @CTULocal1 contract negotiation team, to get first-rate perspectives on the realities of education in the time of Coronavirus. He gives some larger insights into the local dynamics between Mayor Lori Lightfoot, the Chicago Police Dept, and the various unions and other constituencies vying for influence on the local government.

We then take a look at Biden/Harris ticket, and discuss some of our expectations for the potential administration. We finish up with a discussion of foreign policy, Belarus, and whether we can keep the Lincoln Project from starting a hot war.
