Hey everyone! Hello! So people may have noticed we've been gone for a couple of weeks. Has it been a couple weeks? It's been like a month actually. Yeah. Well, we had a good run. Sorry, it's over. Another podcast you love killed dead. No, it's not dead. Yeah, we're not dead. Yeah, but that was a good sprint. I think we challenged ourselves to go weekly and we did it for longer than we have in previous runs.

It was 14 episodes over 15 weeks, so we only missed one week. We challenged ourselves to do weekly. We did that for a while. We have now burned out. We also have a bunch of major life things happening. Personal news that's mine to share. I am expecting another child soon. Yeah. And John also personal news that's not mine to share. I'm getting married in July. Yeah. Yeah.

I'm over due to go to the dentist. I should probably figure that out if I have a little extra time. Well, we also still have this excuse that has been true since the beginning of the podcast, which is that we do it in our spare time. We all have full time jobs. So it's just been a lot to balance. However, we have a plan. Yes.

And the plan is we're going to take a break for the summer. We're going to finish up some episodes that have been in production for a minute. And we also are presenting our very first in person live show in New York City. And we're definitely not terrified about this. I'm not terrified. I mean, Adrian said she hasn't handled Adrian's the story lead for it. And she's like, I got it.

And I got it. We all got it. So the show is on August 1st at a venue we love called caveat in Manhattan. That's New York City. It's at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25.

Or if you are a patron, you can get $5 off. Look for a code in in Patreon. Also, this is exciting. The show will be live streamed and available as video on demand for a short time after the show. So if you are not in New York area can come to out to the live show, you can still stream the show that ticket is $10. Patrons look for a code that can get you $3 off of the Internet stream and video on demand.

All the details about the show and how to get tickets for both the in person and live streams are available at our website under understood dot com slash podcast slash live. And that'll link you out to to get tickets and we'll also of course put links in the show notes of this episode Adrian just to clarify how pregnant will you be when this live show is happening.

Like maximum. Maximum pregnant pretty much and I just want to make clear to the audience I have no idea what we're doing for the live show is been kept a secret from me because Adrian is leading it. Statistically she could have a big oh not be available for the for the show you mean yeah I'll be fine.

And as for the main podcast the feed that you're listening to right now like Adrian said we're going to bank a bunch of episodes and the plan is to come back after a much shorter break than the last one that we took which was like nine or 10 months. Now we're going to come back with new episodes on the main feed at the end of the summer. Yeah. And in the meantime are we still doing our monthly virtual show in discord for page and supporters.

You bet you we are yeah we're doing our normal thing in patreon patreon never sleeps you know I have a feeling I will wind up or maybe Ryan will wind up doing extra stuff in patreon in the in the break. Yeah I want to get a little funky in there summer Fridays I don't know what that means summer Fridays in patreon I like I don't know what that contains. Stay tuned that's good might be some little things on Fridays sometimes it might just be a high coup.

Who knows I like how you just made this up on the spot and I feel like we're committed to it and I don't know what it is. Listen but it sounds fun. Great so I think that's all the updates and we're excited to come back. I feel like we haven't well captured like how fun and exciting it was to be back for a 14 week streak of this like we said that we were burned out but like also. Great yeah I feel.

I was going to say more alive when the show is on but I also like I would be I you know whatever I'm like always cautious to use the word burned out because like for me I'm not burned out on the show I don't think any of us are really. Just were busy we just have a lot of things going on and we just show us something we do in our spare time and so we have families and jobs and other obligations and other life things that happen and so.

You know it's important for us that this show remains something fun and something that we love so there's just you know we have to like be smart and strategic about how we approach it we don't want to become a burden we always want to be fun we always want to have fun with you all so.

That is a much better and more nuanced way to put it and I actually don't feel burned out I just feel I feel like I'm always putting this stuff up off to the side and not having time to work on it and then that stresses me out.

And we also want it to be like worth your time to listen to like we could we could completely change the format and make it just like talking about I don't know some dumb internet stuff of the week but that's not our show and we'd rather be off then do that yeah we could do a whole episode where we try to figure out what television. Adrian should buy while summer Fridays that is completely on the table let's be clear yeah we may do that on patreon for summer Fridays.

If anyone is Friday wants to listen to us pick a television for Adrian please support us on patreon. This is going to end like all my purchase decisions were just by nothing I mean that's pretty healthy I cannot go I Adrian you should just get the apple vision pro because when you add up the cost of a large television is that the surround and the cost of ignoring your children yeah so you're saying instead of getting a larger TV I get a smaller TV and strap it to my face exactly.

Anyway that was our segment about the dumb internet thing of the week I guess check out our tech podcast on patreon. But seriously thank you so much to the listeners for liking and subscribing doing all the things and supporting us on patreon and we'll have more stuff for you good stuff very soon. Good night and good luck.
