Episode description

In the newest episode of Understanding Men, Luke and Fraser set out to demystify Gen Z, reflecting on how their own experiences differ greatly to the lives young people lead today. Drawing on trends around housing, sobriety, teenage pregnancy, promiscuity and socialisation, Luke and Fraser illustrate the backdrop upon which Gen Z exist, and highlight the political and social climate which shapes them.

They explore the negative views some people may have around Gen Z appearing entitled and fickle, and point out how this attitude may help Gen Z to be more outspoken and resistant. Further exploring these points, they also address how Gen Z have more choice than ever, when it comes to how they consume, how they work and how they socialise.

Trying to understand the worldwide decline in sex, they illustrate how the COVID-19 pandemic has significantly affected how young people socialise and explore the world, and question when the alarm will be raised on an incoming population crisis.
