Hey, everyone. Welcome back to Underreported Stories, where I cover the news that CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News failed to report on or don't report on enough. We are so back. I have missed this so much. I've literally been looking forward to this part of my day literally all day. We are season 2 of underreported stories here.
Also, this Sunday was a very, how do I put it, like, important, but also heartfelt day for me because it marked one full year of being an independent creator, which 1 year ago felt like the worst day of my life and the scariest thing in the world. And now it's the best thing in the world. It makes me love my job so much more. But I don't have a lot of time to be a big old sap because we have so much to catch up on.
So I asked the real ones what you wanted to talk about and I heard we wanna talk about Trudeau resigning, Mark Zuckerberg becoming based, allegedly, and the Trump tenten thing that is taking place this Friday. So we're gonna talk about all of that. And if you're out there and you're like, wait. What the hell is a real one? Okay. This is my completely free Instagram channel where we talk about all things, I don't know, stories, underreported, not underreported. Crazy things.
I gauge your opinions on maybe something like the Pete Hegseth nomination or how you feel about Mark Zuckerberg. So if you go to my Instagram page at the Chrissy Clark, when you're on the page, there's a channel that's called real ones. Just join that. Again, it's free, and you'll get exclusive looks at content, and it's just a way to interact with me directly. So where should we shart? Shard. We're not sharting. I freaking hope not. Where should we start?
Let's start with Tampon Trudeau, speaking of downstairs region. He's gone. I don't know why when I heard about tampon Trudeau, which I you guys probably know if you've been following me for any amount of time, that is what I call him. When I first heard this news, I was like, I had just seen well, I hadn't just seen it, but Wicked was very top of mind. So I was like, ding dog, the witch is dead. Happy. Oh, goodbye, Trudeau. You know? I was just pumped.
But I'm not pumped quite yet because we don't know what's gonna happen, and sometimes the enemy you know is better than the enemy you don't know. And Canadian electoral politics are so very different from American electoral politics. You know, their bodies are decided by parties and coalitions of parties. So while this seems good right now, I'm kind of fearful of where it could lead.
But in case you didn't hear about this, Trudeau, he's the head of the Liberal Party and the Prime Minister of Canada, or was because he resigned as, again, not just a prime minister, but also the party leader. And this all happened as Trudeau was lagging far behind in the polls. And I just think it's interesting because, yes, of course, it looks like it's gonna be another conservative shift because we're seeing that kinda all across the West, but you just never know. You just never know.
So I'm not in celebratory mode quite yet. I'm like mid celebratory. You know? But, anyway, if you just need an update on this, Canada's parliament is now suspended until March 24th while a new leader is chosen. Whoever the new governor of Canada is better get ready because I think there are a lot a lot of problems specifically with immigration that is just plaguing Canada writ large. So Canadian listeners, I know we have some Canadian listeners. Please, let me know how you feel about this.
Are you I'm assuming if you're listening to the show quite excited that Trudeau is no longer in there, but do you think the Conservative party is going to just, like, kick ass and wipe the floor? Are we gonna see what happened in America in November? Or is this gonna be a little bit more split? Also, I would love to hear my Canadian viewers' opinions on this taunt that Trump has towards America. I think it's so funny.
But I also know that Canadians are, like, very, very proud of their identity, and they're also really borderline overly nice and respectful. And so jokes like this can be perceived as mean or insensitive, so I'm very curious to get some more on the ground information outside of just what I've heard from my cousins. So please let me know in the comments. For some reason, my little mini screen here is acting up. Today is not the day of mini screen. Not at all. Okay. Let's move into Zuckerberg.
So a full video, I woke up this morning, opened my laptop, started prepping the show, had a completely different thumbnail and title in mind, and then all of a sudden I turned on x and up popped this video, 5 minutes long, of Mark Zuckerberg announcing a bunch of new changes to Facebook, to Instagram, the algorithm, how they've been censoring content, admitting that they've been censoring content, which like we all knew but it's really nice to have it admitted.
So I'm gonna pull up a little article from Facebook that just gives you, like, a quick brief before I give you my opinion. So I'm not really interested in Meta's, like, propaganda. More speech, fewer mistakes, sure. I'm interested in the main takeaways which are big and are important. So starting in the US, notably only in the US, Facebook is getting rid of their 3rd party fact checking program, which has been the biggest bitch of a lifetime.
Basically, what Facebook would do is they would take 3rd party organizations and pretend that they were honest brokers, like PolitiFact or something like that, obvious groups that were funded by left wing organizations and then tell us that these people were gonna be honest fact checkers. And then honest fact checkers, like, I remember The Daily Caller used to be a Facebook fact checker for a temporary amount of time. They would get booted off because they weren't fact checking hard enough.
And now what Facebook is doing in lieu of that is they're getting rid of those fact checkers which, hell yeah, I love that. And they're bringing in the community notes model which has been very successful on x. Facebook also claims that they're gonna allow more speech by lifting restrictions. Which, okay, let's stop there. We were told there weren't restrictions and that free speech was existing on Meta and Instagram and Facebook. That was a lie the whole time, obviously. We all knew it.
But, again, it feels good to be justified and know what we were saying the whole time was true. But they are going to lift the burden off of their suppressed speech now and they are going to allow us to talk about certain topics. Specifically, in the video, Mark Zuckerberg said that he was going to allow conversations about gender identity, which is incredibly difficult to talk about.
As someone who creates content for a living, let me just tell you, it is borderline impossible to talk about this subject without having to create fake words. You know, here on YouTube, a lot of the times I say crayon heads or cransgender instead of the word that you know I would like to say. Even though I'm literally reporting things as facts, I'm just trying to report the news. But of course, those words will get you dinged. They'll get you censored.
Now, where I find this very interesting is that in competition with TikTok, where you can't even use the word again, I'm not even gonna bother trying to use it. Delete or unalive. Words such as that. When you are competing against a model where you can't even say those words, this is smart.
Not only for freedom, which we all love, but this is just smart to allow free speech, allow creators, which political creators right now are on the rise, allowing us to talk openly about subjects helps us clear the air about the subjects and make them less interesting, actually. That's always been my philosophy.
So if you don't want massive conversations about gender, I actually think not squashing them will help to bring forward the light, bring forward the information, and help people move on from the story quickly as opposed to ruminating on the story because we have follow-up story after follow-up story after follow-up story on the idiocy of big tech censoring those conversations. So that is allegedly going to be changed.
They also said that they're going to change what algorithms they use to, crack down on people specifically that are going to be focused on, you know, illegal and high severity violations, things that are awful like trafficking and whatnot, not me talking about gender. Right? Those are 2 very different things, but for some reason, Facebook has seen those things as equivalent over the past, I don't even know, 10 years plus.
They also said they're gonna be taking a more personalized approach to political content so that people who want to see more of it in their feeds can. Now, again, this is so good for anybody that wants to, you know, receive content, like, what I do on the Internet, what all a bunch of other creators do. Right now, if I go on Facebook, I can't tag the name Donald Trump. I can't tag under reported stories. I can't tag news. Those are not available tags because Facebook didn't wanna be a news site.
It wanted to be a connectivity site. And while that's cool and all, I mean, it's really not. While meta Meta has the ability to, you know, make that their platform foray if they would like, it's not what people really do use the platform for. People use it to communicate in a litany of ways. And when that was allowed and then disallowed, that's where the problem lies. This was never what Facebook was used to or was just connecting.
It was a means of communicating in so many ways, news being included in that. So to get that back, I think, is really awesome. Now a lot of people don't believe Mark Zuckerberg, don't believe that this is actually going to take place and they're saying, you know, oh, it's alleged. We have to wait until we see it. I will say I have noticed a difference in the Instagram algorithm on Monday, January 6th. I noticed something was going on with the algorithm. Something was different.
Things were just the back end stuff was not working the same way that it was the day before or even the week before. So it was kinda crazy waking up to this because I was like, oh, maybe just everybody's back to work, so everybody's using Instagram and that's what was going on. But I have seen changes already. Instagram and that's what was going on. But I have seen changes already start to be instituted in the Facebook and Instagram algorithm.
And I will say, Instagram not for the better, Facebook for the better. So I'm I'm waiting before I say this is good or bad. But, obviously, generally speaking, this idea is very good. And beyond my first thoughts being, fuck yeah. Elections have consequences. And this this change was beyond what we could anticipate was gonna happen with an election. And, like, obviously, I got him selfish. I was like, hell, yeah. This is really good for business. Right?
Other than that, I do feel a little rectified, and I also have to admit something when I say I'm rectified. I have to admit that sometimes I've had a habit of just, like, not self censoring per se, but just being, like, let's not say that. Let's say something else. Not that you don't believe or and I'm not saying that I lie. I just I'm like, yeah. I'd rather not say that. And I I mean, every creator does in some capacity.
And so I've made a, I wouldn't call it a new year's resolution because it's not just gonna be for 1 year. I made a promise to myself that when I have an unpopular opinion or an unpopular feeling, I'm just gonna let you guys roast me. And I'm gonna tell you publicly, but you can roast me anyway. I'm not gonna care what people think. So what? And here's one of those unpopular opinions. I don't think Mark Zuckerberg is that big of a Lib. I know. People are gonna be like, Chrissy, what the fuck?
Who are you? You came into 2025, not base. No. No. I think Mark Zuckerberg is a weenie. I think the dude's a beta. And I think he's a weenie beta who was too afraid of an increasingly woke society to do what he ever believed to do.
If you go back, if you go and listen to Zuck testify in front of these, like, boring ass subcommittees, he is consistently pushing back against left wing government officials, saying he's trying to ensure free speech in some capacity, while also trying to appease government actors and, at the time, appease a society of woke activists who pushed for restrictions. And not only was it the society writ large online, but it was a society that voted that way as well. And then in, what was it, 22?
Elon Musk purchased X. And the success of that platform has seen, you know, free speech be restored to the Internet. And I think that that success has inspired Mark Zuckerberg to do exactly what I'm doing now and stop censoring how he actually feels because the results of the election have empowered him to do that. Now I hope to stay emboldened no matter who is in power. I don't know if I could say the same will happen with Mark Zuckerberg. I think he's, again, a beta, a weenie.
But he's a beta and a weenie who does believe in free speech. That's my hot take. And I also kinda felt a little more justified in speaking this opinion because yesterday, the news came out that Dana White from UFC is joining the board of Meta. And that makes me think that this is a change worth taking seriously, because Dana White is a very principled person with plenty of money and plenty of power. He doesn't need to be on Facebook's board. He has plenty of other stuff to do.
He went on Facebook's board because he fully believes in it. And I don't think that Dana White would be on this board if he didn't somewhat back my analysis that Zuck might be a weenie, but he's been emboldened to enact what he has always believed but failed to live up to. And my final thoughts on this, which I've kind of already touched on, is that if TikTok does stay in the US, which oh my gosh, I will keep you updated on that this week. I'm really hoping it does.
TikTok still has a massive problem with censoring political speech, even if it does stay. And I say that as somebody that advocates for it, even though they censor me literally daily. If Instagram Reels is the safe space, quote, unquote, to talk more openly, people will utilize Reels instead of being censored by TikTok if given the option. And so I think that this is a very good move for Facebook again if they go through with it.
And actually, that segues very nicely into our next topic, which is Trump sentencing on January 10th. And you're probably like, what the fuck, Chrissy? How does talking about TikTok have anything to do with Trump sentencing? Hear me out. I gotta put my conspiracy theory hat on. I'm not actually. You can buy that at basedonlogicpaildotcom. But I have a conspiracy slash just generals generally speaking, a theory about what I think is going on with the January 10th sentencing of Donald Trump.
Now in case you've been living under the rock, Democrats are a cabal. They are operating in so many different arenas that we can't quite understand. And a lot of people have been wondering why in the world Donald Trump is going to be sentenced for this alleged hush money case on January 10th, when he is set to be inaugurated on January 20th.
It has it appears that there are no charges that are gonna be put against Trump, and the district attorney who has charged Trump in this case has said that he'd like to put the case on hold, pending Trump's presidency. So people are wondering, why in the world is this individual, this judge, Juan Mershon, coming after Trump now?
And I think it's very it's probably right, but also kind of lazy explanation to say, well, he's a democrat and he's owned by the democrat party and he's just doing anything to get Trump. Yes. Fair. Fair. Fair. But my theory is that the Democrats know elections are won 2 years in advance. 20 28 starts now, and 2026 starts now as well. All of those things will matter.
Democrats saw in 2024 their base of young voters bleed out at record levels, not just being apathetic, but becoming Republicans, and that scares them. January 10th, the same day of this sentencing, is the same day that the Supreme Court happens to hear the case about TikTok.
And I believe that the Democrat cabal has gotten together, and they are trying to distract young people as well as the mainstream media and distract them from what would be a news cycle of TikTok, TikTok, TikTok to something that looks like Trump, Trump, TikTok, Trump. That is what they are trying to do. They are trying to divert your attention away from something that will lose them in election.
Because by and large, young people, my generation, believes that Democrats are to blame for the TikTok ban. So that is my woo conspiracy theory. I don't think it's woo woo at all. I think I'm kind of a genius for it. But let me know your thoughts on it in the comments. Okay. We have got to get to today's story because that's why you tune in under reported stories, for under reported stories. So here's what we got on the docket.
We have an update on the San Francisco weight czar and my theory on how I think she's getting paid to stay fat. And in a quest to own Trump, an MSNBC host said Americans are bigger terrorists than terrorists. Plus, the New Orleans district attorney was found dead. We have those stories and so much more. So without further ado, let's get into the 500 reported stories that you need to know. Today's show is brought to you by Based, my merch line.
And we've just unveiled our winter line with a new beanie, a hoodie, a shirt, and a tote bag. Our first nutso story of the year is that New Jersey teachers will no longer need to pass base basic reading, writing, or math tests for teaching certifications anymore. So, to no one's surprise because the education system is whack in this country, there's a mass shortage of teachers in pretty much every state but in New Jersey specifically.
And the state government has decided that to rectify that problem, they would just make it easier for someone to become a teacher by having little to no qualifications to be a teacher. And my mind just can't comprehend this because everything we have seen since 2020 when schools went online, when teachers or parents, sorry, opened their eyes to what was going on in classrooms, what part of this entire debacle made people go, yeah. We should make it easier for people to become teachers.
Because what we realized during the pandemic and over the last couple of years is that teachers are not getting educated properly. Teachers think that it's their job to parent the children in every aspect, while simultaneously parents are also not keeping up with their parenting roles and instead offloading that to some teachers and specifically to iPads.
And so we're seeing this whole conundrum of bad societal norms, as well as bad teaching and bad teaching norms, as well as a whole school system that is so corrupt. Thank you to the teacher unions for that one. We're seeing this massive corruption in schools. As well as, you know, schools already are not doing enough to safety of kids. I can tell you that from experience. I look at some of these people that are teachers and I'm like, oh my gosh. That teacher has an OnlyFans.
Like, how are you allowing this person to be in front of children? I have no idea how this is allowed. And instead of trying to rectify any of those core issues, root issues, New Jersey has decided, actually, we're just gonna let whoever wants to come in, come in. And to me that's really denigrating to teachers because it does take skill to teach. It takes education and knowledge of how to communicate to be a good quality teacher.
And what New Jersey, I think, is actually kind of saying is, hey, any old moron could be a teacher. Come on in. We're just gonna give you a chalkboard and a pension and and put you in the teacher's union and you'll be fine. You'll be fine. You know? I think that's so insulting. I just I don't understand how someone could look at this and think, yeah, this is gonna fix our problem. I just think there are so many other problems.
I was just having a really great conversation with some of my friends over the weekend about how going to school nowadays is really just about memorization. Just go there, memorize things, regurgitate what you memorized onto a test, and you never learn shit. That's just what school has become, unfortunately. And we need more educators who are focused on educating kids, not just getting kids to pass a test. Right? Or passing kids who can't pass a test. That's happening a lot in Baltimore as well.
So all around, crazy nuts. If you guys think you might have solutions or thoughts or feelings, especially teachers, parents, please, could you let me know what you think of this? If you are a teacher and parent in New Jersey, please let me know what you think about this because I just I don't see any world in which this goes over well. You know, we we've finally got through the era of insane woke school stuff. And let's be honest. I'll be the first to say this.
When I see stories about woke school stuff, they are less interesting because of the mass saturation of these stories than they were 4 years ago or 6 years ago. But I can't even imagine the insanity that is going to happen when teachers are borderline illiterate. That's just gonna be so problematic. Anyway, let's get on to our next story. Before we went on winter break, am I too old to call it that? I think at what age do you stop calling it winter break?
But then you call it winter break again because you have children? I don't know. Answer my questions because I'm just talking to myself. But before we went on a winter break, anyway, I told you about this body positivity guru that San Francisco hired using taxpayer dollars, by the way, to be the wait czar. And I actually don't super understand what her role is. All I've seen is videos of this girl who's written the book, You Have the Right to Remain Fat or some shit like that.
Her name's Virgie Tover and she's been hired. My understanding of it is to work on, you know, some, it's basically DEI stuff. Like, systemically getting rid of how people feel about fat people and I don't know. It's nuts. But I did a little deep dive diving because I always say, like, when you see someone like that, you've they've gotta have an incentive there because no one really wants to be fat. Let's be honest.
And so I started doing a little digging and I now have this theory that I think she's being paid to stay fat. Now I'm gonna caveat that by saying this is alleged, but I'm gonna investigate by following the money. So follow with me. So I was right. The book is called You Have the Right to Remain Fat. And this person, Virgie Tovar, is the new city department of public health weight stigma fat activist person. And she's got, like, a 100000 followers, which is no small size, except for her.
No pun intended. No pun intended there. But going through everything that she's done from, you know, her book to her activism, she has said time and time again that eating less is considered oppressive. So she is very bought into this idea that being fat is good and fine. She goes by plus size Latina author. Like, it's something to boast about. And, again, considers herself a leading expert on weight based discrimination and body positivity.
And in another post on Instagram, she's actually been very vocal about being anti Ozempic and other weight loss medications, again, because she doesn't see a problem with being fat. She actually claimed in this post that she was offered free Ozempic and denied it because Ozempic would end size inclusivity. Now, I was wondering, why does she care about size inclusivity?
And I think people are like, oh, they just look at this at face value and they go, oh, well, you know, she's a fat activist and she works with the Association to Advance Fat People and Fat Legal Advocacy Rights and all of those kind of things. And they don't ask the question, why? Why are you like this? Because there are plenty of other very popular plus sized people now with GLP one medications out there who are very thankful for it and have taken it.
You know, look at Oprah or, like, Rebel Wilson or there are even a lot of influencers like Remy Bader. Those are people that have taken Ozempic and used it in some degree to get more healthy. So I had to ask myself the question, why is Virgie Tovar different? She she can't be that bought into it. No one wants to be that fat. I just don't believe it. And it turns out, miss thing over here, as so aptly pointed out in the headline from my friend Tristan, Virgie Tovar is getting paid by Unilever.
So what she's doing is she's doing these, where is it? Like Dove Dove, the soap brand. They put out these size inclusivity campaigns. And they're paying her to stay in this whole sizeclusivity inclusivity rate. So she's making more money off of her fatness. And what's interesting about that is follow the money. What companies Unilever owns include Ben and Jerry's and Hellman's Mayo. So those are products that if the bottom line of these companies would suffer if Americans got healthy.
If these fat activists stop pushing body positivity, these companies would take a little bit of a dive because they perpetuate and they they, they feed off of anti diet culture, anti or fat phobia anti fat phobia, like this whole body positivity movement. And it's people like this that lie to their audience and then profit off of that lie. Now I will say correlation does not equal causation, and I'm always going to caveat that. But when you look at something like this, like, come on.
Follow the money and incentives because I do not believe that anyone out there truthfully is okay with being obese. But I could be convinced to be obese or bigger if it meant such a fat paycheck. So I'm very interested, and I hope that Virgie Tovar sees something like this and speaks out because I think it's really important that we know what our federal government officials we're not federal.
She's a state government, but state government or local government officials are being paid by big corporations, which, you know, the left always claims to hate and then they love to take their money. Alright. Let's get into our next story. Some absolute abject insanity out of MSNBC. Host Lawrence O'Donnell, who's the craziest bugg eyes, went on a rant saying that American veterans and American armed forces are bigger terrorists than terrorists.
Terrorists like Timothy McVeigh reached the rank of sergeant in the United States Army. The simple fact is this country has suffered more deadly terrorism at the hands of American born citizens who are veterans of the United States military than people who have crossed into this country at the southern border. So one thing that I have to caveat is that technically speaking, his words aren't inaccurate because of the standard that he's holding. Right? I hear the phrase all the time.
There's lies, damn lies, and statistics. And that is always that's actually what drew me to statistics. Always, I found it to be so fascinating the way that you can manipulate data. And so what Lawrence O'Donnell is doing in this situation is he's giving a monologue on how Timothy McVeigh, who I believe killed a 160 something people in the Oklahoma City bombing, which tragic, I believe it was a 168 if I can remember the number correctly, but something in that range.
And if you go to CBP data website and you look at how many, murders have been committed by illegal immigrants year over year, on average, it's between 29 to 62. Here's the thing, though. CBP data can only calculate so much. We don't know the total number of nones. They're evading detection. We don't know the full number, the full truth. And you're talking about one day in America versus year over year, noncitizens have committed far more than what Timothy McVeigh did in one day.
And that's not to excuse the actions of law enforcement or, armed forces who have committed terrorist acts. I'm not trying to defend that. But that is the premise of Lawrence O'Donnell's argument. I'll let him keep going. It is very clear from the evidence that if you wanna worry about terrorism in this country, the United States Army is a much bigger problem than the southern border. No. But I actually can't believe you said that out loud. I can't.
And another piece of information that's important piecing together the puzzle of how all this got aired was that this whole monologue was in response to Donald Trump's tweet partially blaming open borders for importing radical ideas and people into the US, and this was all in light of what happened on January 1st in New Orleans.
And Lawrence O'Donnell was so interested in playing gotcha with Trump, pointing out that, yes, statistically, people who are American have committed atrocities because they live here. It's easier for them to evade suspicion and detection. And if they're military trained, they have the knowledge to maybe create something that a normal civilian wouldn't. Although, we have access to all of that information now on the Internet. Right? But this this dude was so committed to the anti Trump bit.
He didn't stop to think about how insulting this was gonna be to the existing members of the military, who already probably hate him so much anyway. But I don't know how you get to the point where you thought that that was a good idea. You have to be so delusional to think that is a good idea. And maybe this is a hot take. I I really doubt that this is a hot take. But we're always gonna have problems and evil in this country.
We're always gonna have, unfortunately, acts of terrorism that take place here. It's sad. I hope and wish that we could get rid of that, but that's just life on Earth. In my opinion, hot take, the solution here would probably to be to call it out when it happens, to not be afraid of conversations or threats of Islamophobia, just just to do what? To defend importing noncitizens with lengthy rap sheets? Just to own the politicians you don't agree with but would protect you anyway?
Just a dumb, dumb way to think. So shame on you, Lawrence O'Donnell. And I think this is gonna make MSNBC even harder to sell because they will have to sell because they suck at this. Okay. Let's get into our next story, which is New Orleans adjacent. So the New Orleans assistant district attorney has died in an apparent suicide. His name was Ian Kestering, not Kesterling, Kestering, I think.
And Ian was assigned to a unit that specialized in helping sexual assault victims and prosecuting abuse crimes using DNA evidence. Now this headline obviously was getting a lot of traction because people were initially convinced that this death of Ian had something to do with the attack that took place in New Orleans on January 1st. Come to find out, reading this a little bit more, it appears that the incidents were unrelated.
This guy, again, this is what he looked like, and if you are in the viewing audience, you can see how just truly broken this man looks. He's got really, deep, almost blue puffy eyes, a really carved out face, very pale for someone who lives in the South, and he was just 34 years old. And because, you know, we're all talking about what was happening on January 1st, I think people just insinuated or thought that maybe the 2 had to do with one another.
But the more we know about it, the more we know that it seems this individual was on a completely different unit. He was on the it was called the Saki unit, not to be confused with Jen Psaki, but s a k I, the Saki Unit, again, that was prosecuting these really horrible and horrific crimes.
And what I do think is interesting, what I do think we need to keep our eyes out for is that, you know, we're also concerned with the connection between January 1st and, you know, the public discourse was all about that tragedy. But it does seem that the independent media as well has you know, we've gone, okay. Well, there's no ties between this individual's death and the January 1st terrorist attack so we move on. And I was like, hold up, hold up, hold up.
What would make a 34 year old man, like I pointed out, who has seemingly dedicated his life to helping victims, what made him think this is too much? Because I know that this is a really hard job and being on SACI, this task force, that cannot be easy. But it made me go, what is happening in New Orleans? Is the abuse in that city so bad? Are there trafficking rings we don't know about?
And there are just images that we can't imagine seeing because, in all honesty, there are awful things that happen in this country, and I can't imagine that New Orleans is somehow worse than every other place in this country. Or is there perhaps again, I don't know anything. I'm just speculating. Is there perhaps abuse coming from the New Orleans government that Ian couldn't handle seeing? Are there cover ups happening that worried a man who was possibly dedicated to victims?
Was he involved in a cover up against his will or by his choice? I, you know, I don't wanna be quick to slander this man. But but but but this story is just not over. We need more answers. And while it's not connected to the main story that has got us talking about New Orleans, it should still have our heads spinning. So if you live in the New Orleans area, if you have any connections to this, can you please email me?
My email is crissy@underreportedstories, the name of the show, all in one word, dotc0.com, c o, co. Right? Email me. Would love to chat with you because I will do the work to find this. I just need assistance in getting connected to the right people because a lot of stories come across my desk and it takes a lot of time to produce this whole show and everything. So please let me know. But I my flags are like flagging. They're flying in the air.
I'm wondering what's going on because something is not sitting right with this. So I I really hope I get an email. I'll keep you guys updated if I find anything. Alright. For time's purposes, let's get to our final story. Speaking of January 1st, beginning on January 1st, Seattle has implemented a mandatory $21 minimum wage law, and small business shops are already closing. There is one example that I wanna talk about. It's Bebop Waffle Shop because I like the name Bebop Waffle Shop.
That sounds it sounds like Eddie Murphy. Tomorrow, I'll make waffles. Yeah? But this entire forced minimum wage on the country right now, or in Seattle, I should say, and it's gonna happen all across the country. We'll get to that. It's it's scaring me. It's scaring me for the future of the economy because there are I mean, Starbucks is closing its doors in certain locations in Washington, and I don't feel bad for the corporate giants over at Starbucks. Like, f them. I could not care less.
But if Starbucks can't handle it, then local waffle shops certainly cannot handle it. And the new mandate is $20.76. And what's kinda nuts about this story, and we'll get into it, is that the owner of Bebop Waffle Shop, her name is Karina Luckenbach, and I'll I'll give you guys a little picture of who Karina Luckenbach is, but she kinda seems like a Lib. And she said in an interview that she was initially in favor of this law.
And so if there are any Liberals out there listening, please let this be a wake up call to you because this was somebody who was on your team who appears from everything that I can kinda see, to be a leftist or at least a liberal and even she is now facing the repercussions of these policies. So this is Corinna Luckenbach. If you're in the listening audience, I would highly encourage you to come over to YouTube, Rumble, X, Facebook, or Parlors Play TV and just come look at it really quickly.
She just looks like your quintessential Seattle liberal and I don't know for a fact that she is. Again, this is alleged. I'm just saying based on her looks. She appears to be one of your quintessential liberals. And she was saying that, you know, she's crying every day. It's awful. She has a whole thriving waffle shop business for years years years. She brought the waffle shop from New York to Seattle about 10 years ago.
She said her business had already been suffering from high inflation, which obviously caused an increase in food prices. This was happening all over the past few years. The shop has also suffered from lower foot traffic. And what the article didn't mention, they said it was a result of people working from home and higher crime rates. Hello, New York Post. What do you think is happening in Seattle? They're seeing some of their highest crime rates yet. Very problematic.
And she specifically said she gave us numbers. I love having numbers. So Karina Luckenbach, the owner of Bebop Waffle Shop, said that the state mandated minimum wage increase was the straw that broke the camel's back because she was going to have to pay $32,000 more a year in payroll alone as you see a massive shift in prices rising, inflation, etcetera. And this is just the beginning, my friends. Before 2025, this is this was a problem in California and we saw the impacts of this.
This is going to get worse because similar minimum wage laws have already gone into effect or will go into effect in 21 states and 48 cities throughout this year. So I am very genuine and I say I am praying for small business owners because this is going to wreck the small business economy. For all the Democrats out there saying, we can't deploy illegal immigrants. They're gonna ruin the economy. Care about the American workers first. How about that? It really upsets me. It really upsets me.
And the worst part is is that nothing the federal government, it it they can't do anything. The federal government can do nothing. All elections matter. Right? Not just the federal elections. The state, the local, the little tiny city council, anything. It all matters because it leads to policies like this.
So today, we're gonna do something a little different because I really knew I wanted to finish the show by talking about what's going on in the UK with these allegations of the government covering up the abuse of minors over DEI. But instead of just yapping more, I decided to call my friend, Christine Grace Smith, who lives over in the UK and can give us a lot more color of what's happening over there. Better information, better insight because she's living and breathing it. So stick around.
Right after the show ends, my interview with Christine will be automatically there. It's gonna start right there in, like, 30 seconds. So if you're a real one and you made it to the end of today's show, will you drop the ice cream emoji as an homage to fatty Toe Vah so I know you're really part of this community? Enjoy the interview, and I'll see you guys back here Thursday. Oh, it felt so good to be back. Bye. Joining me today is Christine Grace Smith.
She's a commentator on YouTube, and bonus, she is British. So a perfect person to tackle the insane stories coming out of the UK with. Thank you so much for joining us. No. Thank you so much for having me. I'm glad that I can join you and that I'm not in prison currently. So the things I say online, it's close because we were trying to email each other and the British government clearly did not want us in contact. They did. Not want us to be handling this conversation, but yet here we are.
I know. So thank you for being so bold and speaking out. We really appreciate it. So I'm gonna give the the audience a little bit of, like, a synopsis on this story. If you guys haven't heard the story, it's okay because the timing of it and the exposure of the story we're gonna talk about was so perfectly timed with people still being on holiday, at least here in the US. So we're gonna catch you up. Christine, I'm I'm gonna give them a brief, but if I miss something, please pipe in. Correct me.
Of course. So the UK has what's called a safeguarding minister. This is somebody that's in the labor party and kind of like a right hand man of sorts to the prime minister. And this individual, her name is Jess Phillips. She's supposed to be tackling violence against women and domestic abuse. That's literally her sole responsibility as the safeguarding minister.
And it was very recently uncovered that across the UK, there are British Pakistani gangs, so Muslim men, who were abusing and assaulting young girls as young as, I believe, 12 years old was the youngest. And this was reportedly happening in 50 towns all across the UK. And so there was a report that came out about the rampant sexual abuse by these Muslim men, and Jess Phillips and pretty much all of the labor party refused to launch a public inquiry into this abuse.
And it's been suggested, and, Christine, I wanna get your opinion on this, that police officers, prosecutors, Jess Phillips, and even the prime minister are just so fearful of being called Islamophobic that they're seemingly unable to call out gang assault on little girls. So can you give us a little bit more coverage on the story and how British people feel about this? Yeah. So you're absolutely correct. And I think what's really interesting for us over here in the UK is that this is not news.
This is not something that's, like, a new thing. This is something that happened years ago. We're talking about this blew up in the courts in 2012. It's only now because of Elon Musk tweeting about it that it's being drawn to attention. So, what everyone is sort of referring to, the main big scandal that happened was the Rochdale grooming gangs. And, this happened back in the years of sort of 2010 to 2012, I believe.
Now you have to ask the question, well, you know, why would the government not want people to look into this? You know? On the one hand, there is the, you know, not wanting to be called Islamophobic, which is absolutely true. We have a little, saying here in the UK where we say 2 2 tier kid because basically, if you're a Muslim in the UK, you're treated one way. And if you're a white person or literally anyone else, like a black person, like just non Muslim, you're treated another way.
So for example, we've seen this manifest in the form of the protest, the Israel Palestine protest. If you was to attend something that was, say, pro Israel, then you would likely get arrested and quite harsh treatment. Whereas, Muslims have been allowed to I saw a clip recently that was in London. Muslims were at a pro Palestinian protest in, Central London and they were shouting and raving about how you should, grape Israeli daughters. And yeah, they they were arrested or anything.
But if you was on the flip side and you were saying anything remote and similar of the sort, no doubt you would be in prison. So, yeah, the Islamophobic thing is a weird one. People are too scared of being called Islamophobic to tackle these things. But the main issue is why is our government trying to hide this? Why does our government not care about the victims of this abuse? Why does the government so badly not want people to look into this?
When you look into the facts of the case, what's interesting is the fact that our current prime minister, he kind of got up to his position, through working in the Crown Prosecution Service. So he basically was the director of the Crown Prosecution Service, so in charge of prosecution. The Crown Prosecution Services just for I don't I don't know what that means.
For example, in the States, you know, if you, get arrested and then you go to court, the government, the side of the government who District Attorney. Prosecuted. Yeah. Well, that's okay. So Kitis Talma is a prosecutor. That's that's what he does. He's a lawyer. Oh, Lord, we're very familiar with far left or district attorneys in this country. Okay. Got it. That makes so much more sense. Yeah. So he's a prosecutor.
He was the head of the prosecution service here in the UK between the years of 2,008 to 2,013, I believe, which means he was in charge and would have seen a lot of these cases when they came up in 2,012. Wow. So when you ask yourself why is it that this current labor government doesn't want people looking into the case again? They don't want to open up another public inquiry.
Well, you know, it wouldn't take a very clever person to perhaps speculate that maybe he doesn't want to have any kind of blood on his hands. Maybe he doesn't want to be found responsible for any kind of ill doings of the prosecution service. So, look, I don't know. That's just some things that I've seen that kind of stand out to me. But I think it's interesting that so much more sense though. I think you're you're hitting the nail on the head. Yeah. It's a cover up of sorts.
And I I will say this, and this is the, one thing that I'm probably not quite bold enough to expose yet. Perhaps I'll talk to you about it after the show, but Keir Starmer will be exposed this year. I know that you you know who Nigel Farage is. He's another, politician here in the UK on more of the right wing side than the left wing. And he has tweeted about it a lot.
There is a lot of coverings up that this current Labour government have done, specifically Keir Starmer, that shows massive ill practice from him being a prosecutor. There is atrocious things that I have a feeling are going to come out about him this shit. Yeah. Well and I I have this inkling. I say all the time that when somebody tells you they they're so insistent. They have to tell you who they are instead of showing you through their actions. It usually means that they're the opposite.
And so I wanna pull up this clip from Keir Starmer at a press conference who whether you actually believe what he said or not, he ended up calling a full inquiry into these assaults far right and saying it was hyper politicized. And he's too when people are saying, oh, everything's so political. Everything's so political. They're the ones that are so political. So let me pull this clip up for you guys real quick.
When, politicians, and I mean politicians, who sat in government for many years, are casual about honesty, decency, truth, and the rule of law, calling for inquiries because they want to jump on a bandwagon of the far right, then that affects politics because, a robust debate can only be based on the true facts. It's far right to care. Yeah. Also, the fact that he's talking about people who are loose with the rule of law. Like to say, it tends to be that people tell on themselves.
If you let someone speak for long enough, they end up telling on themselves. And I think that is just a projection of everything he knows what's going on. I think he is probably quaking in his boots right now, not just because of this being bought up, but because of the other stuff that's been going on that he has been so desperately trying to cover up. There are people here in the UK that currently in prison because of things that they've said online.
We are talking about real criminals who've committed real bad clients who have been released to make room for people who speculated about a previous crime, a previous crime. So not to kind of say too much because, like, I didn't wanna be arrested. There was a stabbing That's crazy. Recently, in Southport where 3 young British girls, white girls were unfortunately brutally murdered. And there are people online speculating about the identity of the killer.
Now one thing that's really interesting here in the UK is that if a white person, a British person, like born British person commits a crime, it is plastered everywhere. And typically, you know, their identity is out in the headlines the next day. However, with this awful, awful assault, these girls were very, very young. The identity was kept pretty hidden. And there were lots of questions about the identity of the killer, and no one seemed to know what was going on.
Well, the identity has now come forward and, you know, all of a stud all of a sudden, the labor government are trying to kind of, like, grasp straws and try and cover things up. And, yeah, to not be able to more. There is a reason for that. There is a reason why this labor government is so desperate not to have people know the identity of that killer.
And no doubt, I think the reason that they're so desperate not to open another inquiry into the Rochdale grooming gangs and others, which no doubt are continuing to go on now, is because Keir Starmer was in charge of our criminal defense sorry, our criminal prosecution service here in the UK during that time. So it's obvious that he's got some dirt on his hands that he wants to try and wipe clean, and he's he's just trying to get people to look away from that.
And a great way to do that is to demonize the people asking the questions. If you can say these to people, if you're asking questions, if you wanna know the truth, well, you're far right, then then, you know, it's very easy to discredit people with name calling. It's like the whole, I'm sure you experience it too. Oh, you're transphobic, you're homophobic, you're racist, you're sexist.
Yeah. It's all just a way to say, I don't like what you have to say, so I'm gonna call you this name so that you stop asking questions. But it's important that we don't stop asking questions.
No. And I I think that this is a problem that we've seen in the west, generally speaking of, like, we're so fearful of being called a name when in reality, all it's done is led to our major institutions being just hand locked at being able to do anything because it's just not socially acceptable to go after minority groups who commit crimes. You know, we see this in the US a lot with illegal immigrants. But the west, generally speaking, has gone a lot more conservative.
You know, we see it in Italy, Hungary, and even Canada. I mean, very recently Justin Trudeau resigned. I saw this yesterday. Yeah. Yes. I know. And now and, you know, America, obviously, we're getting a lot more, traction on the right as well. And Yeah. The global tides seem to be turning. So as someone in the UK, do you think that the UK is close to getting out of this? Or are they just too entrenched?
The the thing is with the UK is that British culture is very much we're we're a very private people. You know? We're a very keep yourself to yourself, keep your head down, and kind of get on with things. Now, of course, there's exceptions to every rule, but, generally, that's the kind of vibe here in the UK. I saw, I reposted something yesterday, and I said that the British public is as much to blame for the card state that we're in as our politicians.
Because it does matter how we conduct ourselves as a people. It matters what we allow, what we don't allow. And for me personally, I've seen this highlighted since COVID, since the pandemic. You know? The fact that we kind of allowed the things that happened during that time to happen without question, we just, you know, believed what we were told and just kinda said, oh, okay. Like, we're we're being told we can't leave our house. Like, okay.
Like, you know, the fact that there wasn't more uproar about that, it's kind of carried on since then. And people are just told what to think, how to think, how to feel. And unfortunately, the British people just eat it up. I would love to say that I think the tides are gonna turn here in the UK. And look, perhaps they that it will. Especially on places like X, there is a lot of people coming up now on the right and actually being able to, thankfully, thanks to Elon, speak about these things.
However, I am on the ground here, and I do, you know, go out of my house and interact with people. And the truth is is that as much as X is a beautiful place, I I don't think most people are aware of anything that's going on, unfortunately. I think Britain is still very leftist in our thinking. And that's why Labour won. That's why Labour won the last election because, you know, people wanted a Labour government. So that's that's what we've got.
Yeah. I think that's the problem that I I'm Canadian as well. I'm dual citizen. And I think that's kind of the problem with Canadian culture as well is there's just a sense of apathy, generally speaking. And you can't be victorious or have freedom in your life if you're gonna be apathetic. You you fly the great British flag outside of your house. God forbid you are patriot in the UK. That is almost, like, seems like a crime here.
Like, if you are a patriot British person here, you're you're treated as very like far right and this is a dangerous person. The kind of idea is like, we have a culture of like football hooliganism here. And it's like if you are seen to be patriot, you're kind of grouped in with that group. And like the the Tommy Robinsons of the world, you're just automatically painted this violent, dangerous person that needs to be avoided at all costs.
And it's a shame because it just means that the truth is suppressed. Yes. And you know with the opening we heard, very recently that Mark Zuckerberg is opening up the algorithms on Facebook and Instagram for Mark reasons. Quiet. I you know, I was talking about this earlier. I have always had the idea that Mark Zuckerberg is actually more conservative than people let on. And he's been putting on a show the entire time for the left.
And everyone thinks I'm absolutely nuts, but my 2025 resolution is to just speak my mind more boldly. And I know I'm gonna get a ton of crap on the Internet, but if you actually sit down and listen to his interview or not interviews, like, these boring subcommittee hearings that he does on congress, he is constantly telling Democrats, well, no. We have free speech. I can't do that. No. I have we have free speech. And he's he I wouldn't say he's a warrior by any stretch of the means.
I mean, he's rolled over time and time again. But I think he he understands that to compete in this world, you need to have free expression. And he let Elon go forward and be kind of the warrior and be the person that opened the doors to that. And now, I don't know, we'll see you soon. It's probably a smart business move for him. I mean, if you look at it in terms of, you know, Trump's just won the election over there.
You know, you've got Elon Musk revolutionizing x and and giving people, you know, freedom of speech. I think it would be a unwise move from Zuckerberg to not kind of follow suit because, you know, you look at the polls over there, you know, Trump Trump won fair and square. It did. It was no close call. It was it was near enough a landslide. So, you know, Zuckerberg's gonna look at that and think, well, you know, he's a businessman at the end of the day.
He he needs people to like him and want to buy into his products. So, it kinda makes sense that he would follow suit with Elon and kind of hop on the conservative bandwagon because, you know, it's been proven. You guys are more conservative, which is great. I I wish wish that it was like that over here. Yeah. Well, if we could, as Americans, support you in any capacity, in your bold truth seeking venture, where can we find where we can tell the audience to go and find you, Christine?
Yeah. So you can find me on Instagram and YouTube at christinegracesmith. You can also find me on x@christinegracex. And, yeah, as Americans, I think it's just really important that you guys continue to kind of look over the pond and see what's going on here because unfortunately it is going down a very, very slippery slope right now. Yeah. And like I say, there are people genuinely in prison for Facebook posts right now.
There was unfortunately, quite an older guy who was put in prison for his thoughts online, and, he actually unalived himself. Okay. And it's just it's absolutely devastating. And it's all out of this, you know, you're Islamophobic, you're racist, or whatever. But it's not racist to talk about the truth. And the truth is is that these grooming gangs are predominantly Pakistani Muslim. There's nothing racist about that. It's just the facts. No. Those are just the facts.
And I'm just so thankful that you're speaking out about this and helping us, you know, shed light on this from everyone's point of view, not just Absolutely. Our American point of view. So thank you so much. I'm gonna link her channel below. Thanks so much for watching.
