Hey, everyone. Welcome back to Underreported Stories, where I cover the news that CNN, MSNBC, and Fox News failed to report on or don't report on enough. And yesterday was an interesting freaking day now, wasn't it? I know I titled this video, about Biden's insane speech, and we will be talking about that. But if you are only interested in hearing about Biden's insane speech, please feel free to use the chapters feature to listen to the parts of the show you want to.
But I first wanna talk about all the crazy wins that happened yesterday, Wednesday, January 15th. Let me just say, Trump 2 point o, the second administration, is already way more effective than his first administration. Not only in ushering in the political change that conservatives actually want, which I think seriously hasn't even started yet, but this wave of cultural change has been coming too. I feel like we can kind of close the book on woke America.
We started to open that book and the chapters on that book, which sucked so much, in 2018, and we're seeing the book close now as we usher in 2025. And I'm so here for it. So here for it. I knew we were all starting to get set up a bit, probably somewhere between 22 23. But now being a part of it, there's just something great and awesome about it. Right? And let's talk about the political aspect of what Trump 2.0 has accomplished because yesterday was a big day.
And I know Biden's trying to take credit for the fact that there's a peace deal that was not peace, but a ceasefire deal that was brokered between Israel and Hamas. Right? Now Biden is trying to take credit for this and I'm not saying that this is all at the hands of just one of them, but I'm gonna give Biden a quarter of the credit and Trump 3 quarters of the credit. Because Biden's people, his Middle East envoys, the Israeli, envoy, all of them have tried and seemingly failed.
I don't even think I need to cease say seemingly for legal reasons. They have failed. There was no ceasefire that was able to be brokered until all of a sudden Donald Trump came in and said of this situation, which by the way, let me just note. I understand that this is not a perfect agreement, but Hamas signed this agreement, which was very similar to previous agreements because Trump said there would be, quote, hell to pay if the hostages were not released before noon on January 20th.
And Hamas, what what Americans get so wrong in understanding the Middle East and just world and global leaders is that people and countries, leaders are afraid of American leaders who project strength, like president Trump. And so that's what we're seeing. We're seeing an a change, an entire movement sweeping in of strength, here for it. Then, culturally yesterday, we saw some big promises being made and being kept when it came to the make America healthy again movement.
Now, we're gonna talk about that in our first story, but I can already see the shift of what Donald Trump is going to do, having an impact on politics, on culture. And it's amazing. Like, Trump hasn't even been inaugurated yet. And we are making America safer and healthier. And again, he takes the oath of office in like 4 or 5 days. So we haven't even gotten there and he's already having a massive impact. So nutty, nutty, nutty, but really awesome to see in my humble opinion.
Reminder for you guys, by the way, if you missed Tuesday's show, I'm going to inauguration this weekend. So I'm really excited to share all of that with you. If there are certain elements of the inauguration, be it what the experience, like, is going, the before parties, the after parties, all the things. If there's a specific portion of the weekend that you are very interested in seeing, let me know. That way I can put it out on social media quicker for you guys.
So, with that being said, please comment below. I wanna know what you guys want because I wanna create content that you wanna watch. Right? It's pretty simple. Okay. Anyway, I know what you guys want and that is to hear the stories. So today we have the make America healthy again movement in full swing. We got a story that I kinda teased a few minutes ago. Also, an update on the LA wildfires and how they have impacted Hunter Biden.
Plus, we've got a crazy story about a teacher's union head getting indicted for fraud. And I also want to react to some of Biden's farewell remarks last night. So without further ado, let's get into the 5 underreported stories that you need to know. Today's show is brought to you by Based, my merch line. And we've just unveiled our winter line with a new beanie, a hoodie, a shirt, and a tote bag.
I'm an independent creator, and one of the best ways, if not the best way to support the show is by purchasing my merch line that represents your views. Instead of just asking you guys for donations to fund my independent journalism, my business partner and I created a line of merch called Based Apparel. Based basically means the opposite of woke. It means you're based in logic, based in truth, based in facts. You get it.
Anyway, head over to basedandlogicapparel.com to check out our latest apparel. My personal favorite right now is our base 2 tone shirt, which I'm wearing right now. And remember, when you buy merch, you are directly supporting this show. And when you get your apparel, please be sure to tag me on Instagram so I can repost. The reckoning against big food and big pharma has begun. So the FDA announced it was banning red dye 3. If I say red dye 40, it's just because that is so ingrained.
She is also red dye 40, a public enemy number 1 in this household. So I'm so sorry. I mean red dye 3, but I have caught myself saying red dye 40, like, 80 bajillion times. But red dye 3, the FDA announced it is banning that from food, products, and ingestible drugs. Now this is a good thing because the dye is already banned in a ton of different countries like Japan, Australia, and even a lot of the European Union countries.
So this is just a standard that the rest of the world has that we haven't. And we have had studies according to the New York Post. I and I double checked all of this, but we have had studies dating back to the nineties linking some of these food dyes to an increase in cancer risk. And then what was really irritating a lot of organizations and nonprofits that were advocating for the, removal of these food dyes is that we have a law in the United States.
It's called the Delaney clause of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, and it goes back to 1960. This law prohibits the FDA from authorizing any food or color additive that has been found to cause cancer. And lo and behold, there are studies that link cancer and lab rats to high levels of red dye 3. Now I would assume and anticipate that we are going to see that for a lot of other dyes. This is the thing that kind of pisses a lot of people off in the Maha movement.
That's make America healthy again movement. Is that it's not that we don't have results that show these food dyes or seed oils or some of these other, carcinogens that are, implanted into our foods. It's not that those studies don't find that there are problems and negative effects and impacts on the human body from those things that are allowed in our food, it's that the studies don't even happen.
We're too busy funding gain of function research to do any real impact research on things that are happening to Americans and the health of Americans. Right? But back to the whole red red dye 3 thing, what is crazy about this? We banned. We banned red dye 3 in all of our cosmetics 35 years ago. But it's taken us till right now before the incoming administration to ban it from our food. You know what? If it's not good for our face, it's probably not good for our tummies.
Just gonna put that out there because I don't think that's a bold statement. So food companies now have until January of 2027. Drug companies, for whatever reason, have an additional year. They have until January of 2028 to get this dye out of their products. And I have a feeling that this is not gonna be the only ban we're gonna see put on food dyes in the next years, especially if Robert Kennedy is nominated and appointed and confirmed to lead the department of health and human services.
But I think that's kind of what struck my mind when I saw this story was, the timing on this is really peculiar. Right? Why, you know, the FDA knows that this is coming, that these food dyes are gonna all of a sudden start to get banned. Are they trying to do cleanup work? Are they trying to hide something by doing this now before RFK comes in and that team kinda acts as a sunlight disinfectant for all of HHS? Is that what's happening?
But then I was simultaneously pushing back on my own line of thinking there and I was like, okay. Well, why not just ban food dyes outright? Unless, of course, you think that by throwing this one bone we'll all shut up about it, which I doubt it.
And I I think the part of it that was really dumb in my eyes is if you're gonna do a study on this or you're going to ban red dye 3, why wouldn't you just do a study on all of it and double check that there aren't any other ones, other food dyes, that you might wanna remove? Specifically if they're outlawed in other countries.
Because if you're gonna force these major companies to rejigger their products, the smart move, at least for the FDA, would just be, hey, you know, blanket state we're we're removing these food dyes, all food dyes that would be amazing. But like these food dyes, we're getting rid of them. You cannot use them anymore. Don't worry about, you know, just rejiggering your product by 2027 for this one dye. Do it for all dyes.
And I I was thinking that but then I was also like, well I guess the free market is gonna go into action there. At the same time. The smart businesses, I think the smart businesses, see that the country is moving in a more healthy crunchy direction. So the smart business move would be to adapt and go food dye free and market that to the Crunchies. Now obviously, the the Mega Crunches, the Alex Clarks of the world, they're not gonna eat anything, any of this crap even if the food dye was removed.
But I'm just saying if you're looking to market things as a healthier alternative or, you know, Froot Loops wants to come out and say we've made our cereal better, Even though it's just sugar in a bowl. I mean that would be one way to go about it. Right? But we'll see. I I don't know. I I don't wanna call myself some sort of marketing genius by any stretch of the means, but that is where the country is shifting. So trying to be with and stay with the times, probably a good idea. Free free ideas.
Come on, people. Just take them. Just, I almost sounded like Joe Biden. Come on, folks. Just take my ideas. Oh, my gosh. Actually, speaking of Biden, I'm gonna talk about a Biden, not Joe Biden, a Biden. And I'm gonna try, try, to approach this story with sensitivity. So starting by caveating because there are haters out there. There is nothing funny about people losing their homes, losing their lives, losing their pets, losing their communities in these LA wildfires. Nothing at all.
But one of the losses is kinda funny ish. One of them. Just one. Hunter Biden lost 200 of his artworks in the wildfires. How it came about is obviously awful. We're talking about fires burning people's homes down. But of all things and all losses we're gonna report on, it is the funniest. You know, comedian Shane Gillis, he always he has a really great bit from, I think, maybe before he was like super, super famous saying, you know, there's there's always the funniest something.
Like, there's tragedies. Right? But like there is a funniest thing in the tragedy as bad as it sounds to say. I believe the reference he used was 9:11. Like there's nothing funny about 9:11. But there was a funniest something that happened on that day. Right? So just saying nothing is funny about this. But Hunter Biden losing his artwork is the funniest thing that happened out of this. So let me get into this story before I just dig myself deeper into a hole. Here's how the loss came about.
So Hunter Biden was storing his artwork at the home of his attorney, Kevin Morris. Kevin Morris lives in the Pacific Palisades area. And the attorney's home is actually praise God still intact. But my understanding is that the fire still affected parts of his home and the part of the home that was affected was the part that held Hunter's artwork and it ultimately burned.
Now I'm gonna say something even more controversial than saying that there's funny parts of this fire because why am I doing that? Hunter Biden's artwork guys, I've never seen it before. And I just wanna pull it up and explain it to you guys because it's low key not as bad as it was made out to be. Obviously, Hunter looks like a total buffoon. Do not get me wrong. But, I've never seen his artwork before and I just kind of assumed it was finger paintings or like not that good.
But it's it's low key kinda good. Like, this one is for the listening audience come over to YouTube, Rumble, X, Facebook, Play TV on Parler. We literally stream this so many different places, but the video of it, like, I mean these are not that bad. This one kinda looks like flower. This one's flowers. This one's flowers. Maybe it's a little gay, but it's just like whatever. This one's a bird. Like, this is not bad.
I'm not saying it's like genius material by any stretch of the means, but it's not as bad as it was always painted out to be. I guess I should have looked in the first place, but it's is it $85,000 good? Nah. But it's not as bad as we thought it was. Anyway, I'm not gonna roll on about this. I still think it's absolutely nuts and absolutely funny, and there's corruption just intrinsically in these artwork pieces.
And it's odd and the timing of it is odd that Joe Biden is leaving office right as their scheme to kind of have people buy into the administration or seeming scheme to buy into the administration closes, the timing of it is all just very interesting. Anyway, let's get into our next story.
I was thinking about how I wanted to tee this story off And the I the idea or just like the the thing that's just stuck in my mind is you know that famous office quote like the show The Office quote that was like if I had a gun with 2 bullets and I was in a room with Hitler, Bin Laden, and Toby had shoot Toby twice. I have my own version of that. If I had a gun with 2 bullets and I was in the room with Hillary, Kamala, and the teachers unions of America, I would shoot the teachers unions twice.
The bitterness and hate that I have towards teachers unions is truly unparalleled. It's on brand with Michael and Toby. There's no other way to describe it. It is obviously from my years as an education journalist when I was covering the corruption that is endemic in teachers' unions. So when I brought up this this next story, it truly brings me joy to report stories like this because I messed up in the head and I like knowing how right I am that these unions are a bunch of corrupt a holes.
Did you hear that? Did you hear that, guys? I didn't curse. Getting better every single day. Anyway, story. 2 heads of a powerful Florida Teachers Union have been indicted for fraud and accused of stealing more than $2,000,000 from the union. They were also charged with 2 counts of money laundering for allegedly using $44,000 of that money to pay their personal credit card debt. More from this from the daily wire. My deepest apologies if you can hear the leaf blowers outside my house.
I don't know why they're leaf blowing. There's snow on the ground. Are they trying to leaf blow the snow? I don't know, but if you can hear it, sorry. Hopefully you can't. Anyway, this is a story, like I said, from the daily wire about these Florida teachers. The indictment is against 2 women, one named Terry Brady, who was the president of Duval Teachers Union, and this is against Ruby George, who was the executive vice president. The indictment was unsealed on Monday.
I believe there was a FBI and IRS raid of this union back in 2023, but we didn't have answers as to why this raid took place of this teacher's union. We could only guess. So Brady and George, which is they're women, but heads up, their last names, Brady and George. They are potentially facing decades in prison because they have been charged with stealing $1,200,000 each between 2013 and 2022. So when I said $2,000,000, 2.4. It is a lot of money that they scammed off of this teacher's union.
According to the indictment, they tag teamed by signing each other's union checks. So when they wanted to get fraudulent vacation time pay or additional bonus payments, the VP would sign the presidents and the presidents would sign the VP. Interesting. Like I said, they were also charged with $44,000 in using their money for credit card debt. Harper, you wanna join the show? Our correspondent, Harper Shark, has joined the show. If you are unfamiliar with the show, he's their dog.
He's just my dog. But he's our, he's our correspondent. You're usually a couch correspondent. Okay. You sit down, Meister. Anyway, back to the story. The bombshell charge, like I said, reveals what we what we've kind of always been keeping our eye out for was this 2023 raid in San Marco of, you know, computer bags, boxes of financial documents, text messages, etcetera. So now now we know all of this.
And the real kicker here, the funny, I guess, insert political part of this story comes because in 2023 also, governor Ron DeSantis attempted to put new financial transparency requirements on teachers' unions. The school or the unions were so big mad about this. They were saying there's no reason. We're financially transparent. Why would we need to go through this? This is why. This is why.
The union this union alone, Duval Teachers Union, brings in about $5,000,000 in revenue a year representing 13,000 teachers. That is so much money being utilized basically to to keep teachers in spirals of lower pay to give and boost people that claim to wanna work and do work on behalf of these teachers. It never ends up helping the teachers. It never ends up helping the kids. It just turns into a whole crap show.
And of course, to no surprise if you know the walking devil on earth is the American Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association, the AFT and the NEA. These are awful organizations that helped represent and are affiliated with this Duval Teachers United, which is clearly corrupt or at least their former heads are clearly corrupt. And I do believe the 2 in question, George and Brady, those 2 stepped down right after that FBI and IRS raid.
So the union has been under new management. I would assume it's equally as corrupt. That's an assumption. I don't have any proof of that. Just saying, I would assume so given that this is a normal thing. We're now they're having to clean up their act. And, of course, none of that money that they none of that income is gonna go towards helping students who are helping teachers. That's just how these teachers' unions operate.
I'm just saying I've been covering this for a really long time, and it is endemic in these unions to be corrupt. Anyway, let's get into our next story. Yesterday, Biden gave his farewell address, and it was very transparent that he was just trying to be like FDR. It was so obvious. He was calling out the military industrial and complex and the oligarchs in America. But one point he made, more than all of the others, drove me absolutely nuts.
He appeared to slam Mark Zuckerberg and other social media executives like Elon Musk for doing the right thing and getting rid of fact checkers because, let's be honest, Biden wants to be in charge of your information flow and not the people. Social media is giving up on fact checking. The truth is smothered by lies told for power and for profit. We must hold the social platform accountable to protect our children, our families, and our very democracy from the abuse of power.
That's rich given that you are totally okay with the abuse of children under the guise of transgenderism, and you are also very well known for being a corrupt politician who abused his power and time in office to profit off of it. So I will be taking none of your shit, sir. Dang it. I was doing so well not swearing, and then Joe went and got me all riled up. But let's actually talk about the point of getting rid of these fact checkers. Let me be so very clear.
Getting rid of fact checkers does not get rid of fact checking. It diminishes the hold that governments have over information. Yes. What it does is it makes us more rebellious, it makes us more intelligent, it makes us more questioning and curious. And you know who hates that? The government. Doesn't matter whether they're on the left, whether they're on the right. Government hates when we are smart, informed, rebellious, and curious.
They hate those things and that's why they hate that social media is opening the floodgates to allow people to get those things. Why do you think that the education system back to education. Why do you think the education system is so into teaching you what to think instead of how to think? Because the government wants a bunch of drones. That's what they want. And I just I am so happy to see Meta, Facebook, Instagram, x opening the floodgates to that.
Do I think that Meta and Instagram and Facebook are perfect platforms? Absolutely not. Do I think X is a perfect platform? Also, no. I have my problems with all of those platforms. But, I am so grateful and thankful that they are now opening up the floodgates to talk about things we otherwise wouldn't be allowed to talk about on other censorious platforms. So that was my first takeaway from the Biden speech. The other thing, generally speaking, was this conversation about these oligarchs.
And he's trying what Biden was trying to do was to convince us that the oligarchs could have now hate us. Now I'm gonna try to leave my personal opinion on these people at the door. My by people, I mean, Elon, Jeff Bezos, Zuck, all of those. Taking my personal opinion aside, this is taking me back to the beginning of today's show when I was talking about this cultural sweep. The narrative that the oligarchs hate you is not sticking on independent individuals.
When Elon Musk divests from Tesla and is just Elon, he is not seen as a corrupt oligarch in the way that maybe people would view Tesla. And I don't think people do view Tesla that way, but let me give a better example. Mark Zuckerberg is starting to become more relatable and less of a seeming oligarch than Facebook, Meta, Instagram. Jeff Bezos, when he is divested from the Washington Post or Amazon. He doesn't seem as corrupt.
And what at least Elon, and I think Mark Zuckerberg is now trying to do this, is again, divest themselves from these brands and showcase humanity. And that's why these terms of oligarch are not sticking to these people because maybe Tesla and Elon who runs Tesla thinks of things in terms of profit. But Elon as a human being, which we now see because of social media and the authenticity of the man, Elon of Elon would put people and freedom over profits.
Look at what he's done with Starlink and Neuralink. Look at what he's done with the purchasing of Twitter. Right? Providing Starlink and Neuralink to people that need it. Providing Starlink in the time of natural disaster. Providing it in North Carolina after the hurricane. Providing it in California after the wildfires or amid the wildfires. Those are things that you do out of the goodness of your heart, Not out of profits writ large. Purchasing Twitter. That was for the people.
I understand that Twitter might be maybe more of a profit center now than it was when he initially took it over. But the purpose of it was to get people out of Twitter jail and open up the platform to have conversations. I don't think you do that if you hate people. Right? Maybe I'm being naive about all of this, but I just it's not necessarily facts.
It's a feeling that this anti billionaire push being made by the left is not taking root with some of these people when they are able to divest themselves as person versus company they run. But let me know if you disagree. I'm always up for disagreement, and I know my audience certainly does not like I know you guys. I don't know why I'm calling you my audience. I know you guys, and I know you guys don't really like Zuck, and I know you don't like Jeff Bezos or any of those guys.
But I think maybe Elon could open your eyes to my argument. And I think on the left, Zuck can be seen that way as well, especially among independents. Anyway, speaking of the government control apparatus, we've got to talk about the TikTok ban. I I have to. I know everyone and their mother is talking about it, but I just wanna go through the whole timeline of it and kinda talk to you about this whole red note thing. Because, I mean, it's wild. Right?
The TikTok ban has completely backfired on the US government. In a quest to save Americans from having their data mined and utilized by the Chinese government, the US government just pushed Gen Z and other TikTok refugees. That's what we call ourselves. They have pushed the TikTok refugees to the Chinese version of TikTok, which is called Red Note. And if you go on TikTok, which I'm always here to do for you.
If you go on TikTok in the remaining days that the app exist, this is what most of the videos look like. So the migration to the Red Note app started right after the supreme court oral arguments when everyone on TikTok started sounding the alarm bells about TikTok seriously being banned. I think the general sentiment was like somehow it's gonna get saved. But after that more than 700,000 Americans signed up for the app even though the informed consent on the app is all in Mandarin.
Like we have no idea what we are signing up for. The app literally is called Little Red Book in English. And if if you didn't know this, the name refers to the propaganda book by communist lee communist leader, Mao Zedong. Little Red Note or as we know it, Red Note collects extensive personal data, location, browsing history, device specific IP addresses. It's ticked it's the same thing as TikTok. If not worse, All while leaving the app in Mandarin, even for TikTok users.
So a lot of these TikTok refugees are even learning Mandarin because they feel the app and the algorithm are more reflective of their likes. Obviously, the algorithm is very good because it is following and learning their browsing information and all of their personal information. Right? I'm gonna take you to 1 TikToker who gives insight into how Gen z is feeling about this ban and how Gen z now feels about the move over to Red Note. Girl, I downloaded that little Red Note app AKA.
Bitch, I'm getting my motherfucking life. I'm living for. I love the little comment section with the little memes. I love that the videos are clear as shit. I love the are clear as shit. I love the algorithm, bitch. I only been on there for, what, 15 minutes. It's already giving me what I wanna see. Thank you so much. You know me so well.
How did you do So what he is referencing is when you go on Red Note, you can comment memes on the bottom and I know a lot of people are gonna say, oh, like you can do that on Instagram. Not the same way. The options are a lot more extensive on Red Note for people. They like that and they like that the algorithm is feeding them things that they wouldn't otherwise get from other social media apps. So fast. How did you do that so fast? I'm getting my motherfucking life.
I'm living for a sha hong chu. Do I know how to speak Chinese or read Chinese? No. The fuck I don't. But you wanna know what I do now? I'm not 80 years old now. Basic social media comprehension skills. The heart equals like, the comment bubble means comment section, the plus equals post, it's not rocket science. Okay? Y'all make sure y'all follow me on sha Hung Shul. Diss me on Shah Hung Shul, aka Redneck. Shah Hung Shul. And I It's really funny. I'm sorry. The way he talks is really funny.
I know for a lot of older listeners, they think it's, like, really awful over the it's so it's so funny. And he is he's showing his post which or his profile I should say and if you look at it I mean it's all in man most of it's in Mandarin. Right? And this TikTok user base has integrated over here and they are very much the way it is conversed about on TikTok while it still exists is people feel like they are visitors in someone's house.
That they are joining Sha Hong Shu or Brendon to or they're joining it and they they feel like kind of refugees is one word that they constantly use, but also just like visitors in someone else's house. But, again, of course they understand like the plus sign, the likes, the comments, but do you really understand what you've signed up for? By the way I should have prefaced this. I did not. I do not have red note at this time. I. No. I'm gonna be I'm very reticent of this right now. Wait to see.
Gonna wait to see. Not only is this a genuine security threat to Americans. The very security threat that the US government claimed came from TikTok is now coming from Red Note. And the other crazy thing is that the app and the welcoming from Chinese influencers is already making an entire generation more sympathetic to a country that that sincerely does hate us. I mean, caveat, the Chinese people don't hate us, but the CCP does. They hate our values and they'd love to data mine from us.
The other interesting note that I'll say people are learning is that I think a lot of American liberals think that the Chinese people are a mega tolerant people and they've gotten on there and heard things like men are men and women are women and it's triggering them. Right. TikTok was very much a hate has no home here app, But now they're kinda waking up and realizing that red note is not the same thing. Right? Red note has Chinese influencers and Chinese influencers actually kinda like Trump.
They love Elon and they're not super woke. But in general, I would say the nanny state really wants to control not just where we get our information, but who we get our information from. And so they don't want us to get our information from Red Note. They don't want us to get it from TikTok. They want us to get it from, like, mainstream media.
And if I'm so bold to say the US government did not think that banning what they believed is a Chinese spyware app would lead people to join an even worse Chinese spyware app. Because they think that the US or what the US government doesn't really understand is how little we trust them to do what is right for us.
They thought that if they told us all of these things, if they just could show us how evil TikTok was and that they were here to protect us, that we would go, oh, thank you, daddy government. No. That's not exactly what happened. It's not at all what happened. We said, f you. We're gonna go over to another Chinese zap that's actually worse. And so in light of this, at 11th hour, Democrats and Republicans are backtracking on the TikTok divestment date being January 19th.
So Democrat senator Ed Markey proposed a bill titled extend the TikTok deadline ban, which isn't a bill that stops the ban, but extends the deadline by in which ByteDance has to sell TikTok by 270 days. By the way, Ed Markey, you voted for the TikTok ban, you dick. Oh, shoot. I the swearing. I'm sorry. But he did. He voted for the TikTok ban, and now he's trying to get all of our sympathy by putting out this act. Don't vote for the TikTok ban, man.
And people on TikTok are, like, treating him like he's a savior. This is political pandering at its best, Ed. I see right through you. And then at the same time, Donald Trump has stated that he plans to intervene on behalf of TikTok in some capacity. And many people who are close to the Trump administration are saying that Trump plans on using the app and its existence in the country as leverage as part of a large larger trade deal with China. And I gotta say, art of a deal, baby.
I think the head of TikTok is going to sit at the inauguration on the little roundabout thing where the actual swearing in happens. I think there's a name. It's like a dice or a dace or something like that. I don't know. It's the circular thing where he actually takes the oath of office. Right? That's what it is. But anyway, back to the extension thing. I don't think any of these extensions are gonna do anything, because ultimately, ByteDance is not gonna sell TikTok. Why would they? Right?
We already know that TikTok has options to sell. And if they wanted to sell, they could sell. Right? Kevin O'Leary's offered a ton of money. Mr. Beast has offered a ton of money. I've even heard Rumble was in conversations for a while. And I'm not sure if if the Rumble part is still happening, but I know that that was happening at one time. If ByteDance was interested in selling, they would. The money's there. But you guys, it's not about the money. It's about the data.
And the fact that Chinese created the app, they own the app. They don't have to sell it. If they don't want to, they're just gonna upset a lot of American creators. Right? And we don't blame TikTok. We blame the US government. So yeah. And while while I'm on the note of just giving you my opinion, let me be very blunt with you about this TikTok ban. I do think it hurts more than it helps. One of the big things that I think conservatives get wrong about this and I'm not calling you out.
I'm just trying to explain it to you. One of the biggest benefits of TikTok, at least for conservative values, is that the app has provided countless people, especially women, with the opportunity to make an income while also being able to prioritize family and being a stay at home mom. Because TikTok paid us so well. And I think that's what SCOTUS, the Supreme Court, I think that's what normies who aren't on TikTok don't really understand.
TikTok has a creator fund as well as a really good integrated shopping platform that pays on performance. And what the algorithm does is it learns people's likes and dislikes and puts a business's content or an influencers content in front of the right audiences, which then allows the video perform to perform well because it's introducing new people to your algorithm, not just based on who you're following. And then those well performing videos make you good money.
That is what is so awesome about TikTok. So when people go and suggest, oh, just go over to Instagram. The answer is a resounding no. There are a lot of theories as to why, but I've got to say the biggest one is there's no incentive for people to use Instagram or any meta products because the monetization programs over there are non existent. They're a joke. And even if the creator monetization program then did exist on Instagram, the algorithm is crap. Let me show you what I mean.
A creator put together this video, and I was like, thank you. You're saying everything I want to say. I'm really sorry to all the influencers and content creators begging us to follow them on Instagram. But me following you on Instagram is not going to help because I'm not going to be fed your content. Here's a screen recording of my current Instagram feed. Starts with an ad, then it'll push me magazines.
It pushes Vogue, a brand I don't follow, finally something I'm interested in, sponsorship, suggested account I don't follow, another one I don't follow Glenn Martins, finally a friend of mine, ad, suggested account I don't follow. What she's trying to showcase here, by the way, is that the suggestions tab is not indicative of what somebody likes on Instagram.
So there you'll hear a lot of the time the phrase like book talk or political talk or something like that, where you get in an algorithm that starts to feed you things. If you went on my TikTok app, it was politics, puppies, and books, Because those are all the things I like in this world. Right? And so I would see a lot of golden retriever content. I've talked a lot about how this year I would love to get pregnant. So I see a lot of golden retrievers and babies on my feed.
I learn a lot about, thriller books. And those are the kind of videos that show up on my feed. None of that shows up on my Instagram feed. And instead, it's like this influencer who's on the rise. You know? The Detroit Lions, which like I'm I'm interested in, don't get me wrong, but like not really interested in the ins and outs of like every Dan Campbell speech. I don't know. And then they'll be like add add add.
And so that's where people are frustrated is the algorithm is not nearly the same and I'm scrolling for 10 time longer to get half the impact. Finally, something I'm interested in. Don't know what this is. Ad, suggested account I don't follow, magazines, sponsored, suggested account I don't follow, sponsored. It doesn't matter if I follow every single person I follow on TikTok, on Instagram in order to support them there because I will not see your content.
The only thing that is pushed to my Instagram feed is AI ads and suggested accounts. I do not see the people that I follow on Instagram unless I go and search them. And there is just no world in which every single day I am going to search every single one of my TikTok followers on happen. That's all. Just finish the video off for her. It's not going to happen, and it is going to hurt people. And lots of people think, oh, it's a joke to be a creator. It's a joke to be an influencer.
Go get a regular job. This pays so much better than a regular job, and it is so much more beneficial, again, for women in society to have the opportunity to be stay at home moms and make income on the side, especially in an economy that has been destroyed by leftists. Just saying. And listen, I'm totally aware of the problems that TikTok has.
They've definitely been a little bit more suppressive of conservative voices because they have this kinda safe space esque policy and they're very hard on hate speech. But the advocacy there should be to change the, obviously, the informed consent of ByteDance but also the algorithm of TikTok. Right? But instead, what we've done is we've just told people to download Red Note, which is worse by the way. It is worse.
And the conservatives that have been advocating for free speech seem to simultaneously wanna shut down the speech that is happening on TikTok because it's by and large liberal. And, yes, that is true. But I I hate to sound like this person because I don't mean to, like, point that finger. I'm I'm a very happy person. I'm just saying that I remember when I downloaded the app in 2019, and for years, years, people said to me, the stuffy stuffy conservatives didn't wanna hear this.
They were like, hey, you shouldn't be using that app at Chinese Firewear. Don't be on the app. Don't be on the app. And then the Liberals were just silent. And so then all of the people went on there and just liberal, liberal, liberal. It was like a liberal roller coaster over there, and you would never get conservative views. And then finally people joined me, woke up and joined me, got on TikTok, and realized, you know what? This is a good idea. Like, we should be on here talking to the youth.
Hello. I told you that years ago. Welcome to the party. And then in the last 6 months, we saw Donald Trump, Charlie Kirk, get on the app. And you know what? That was the answer. The answer was not avoiding the culture. The answer was shifting the culture. We don't ban YouTube because they have stringent guidelines and they're annoying and they ding you for things that are pointless. You get on that platform and you continue to fight and show there's room for conservative voices.
And that's what we should have been doing. The entire time on TikTok and oddly enough, as someone who's in the in the rooms with the right people, TikTok was just starting to realize that. Right and then the right then the app got banned. In the last 6 months they put it together. And I understand that wasn't soon enough for everybody but they were getting it together. So I really, really am just I'm angry about this. I'm sad this app is gone.
I really think it could have been a catalyst for change in the culture, shifting the culture with conservatives. I was already seeing it And now, I guess what? Should I go put all black on and go to the funeral of TikTok? I guess so. But, anyway, if you're a real one and you made it to the end of today's show, will you drop the art palette emoji as an homage to Hunter Biden's precious art? Thanks, friends.
