In 2023, mis- and disinformation is rampant on the internet.

It inspires threats and violence. And it casts a dark shadow over our coming election.

But what do we really know about what motivates the people behind it?

RNZ's Susie Ferguson has spent months investigating the problem in Aotearoa.
