Ryan credits his Grandfather, Charley W. Fox, for providing him with valuable lessons on how to become a true gentle-man. Charley was an honorary Colonel in the Canadian Air Force, a title that was later bestowed on him not only for his war achievements but his continued service to his community through his support with local air shows and all his public speaking endeavours.
