Jugular venous distention (JVD) is a classic physical exam finding taught for ages, but assessing it can be a challenge. Can ultrasound do a better job and therefore offer a non-invasive evaluation of the patient’s right heart pressures? This goal has been the pursuit of many ultrasounds before. This time we have a new vessel to assess and a nice reference standard (right heart cath)!
