Aspiring firefighter Nick Corman was suffering from kidney disease and needed a transplant — otherwise, he’d never realize his lifelong dream. Despite his twin sister Kristen’s hope to donate, she wasn’t a suitable match, nor were many others who cared for him. Jillian Kyde, whose sons were beloved students in Kristen’s classroom, was moved to get tested after hearing Nick’s story. A couple months later, she gave a kidney to someone she’d barely met.
