Transcript

Hudson River Radio dot com. This is Travis Walton and you are listening to UFO Headquarters, Putiful Headquarters and good evening everybody, far and wine. You're in close wherever you may be on planet armand or elsewhere. This is Michael Wharton UFO Headquarters with of course Linda's everman Linda, good evening, Good evening, and I always love your induction. Well we I'm very excited about tonight's

show. When you told me who our guest was gonna be, I just was blown away because I like, he's just great listening to him talk, and just a preface for our listeners, We're gonna be talking a little bit about the Pine Bush Ufo and Paranormal Museum, which now my children, my two oldest ones especially think I'm a relic and deserve to be in a museum. And people would be thrilled to know that I am part of a museum exhibit some of our work. So my kids were correct, I belong in

the museum. But we do have a great show. We're gonna talk about that in the upcoming Pine Bush UFO fare. So I don't want to take up any time because we've got so much to cover today. Absolutely, So Lance Hallowell of the Pine Bush UFO and Paranormal Museum, please step up to the mic. Are you there, I'm here? Was that intro for me? You are Lance Hallowell? Well, no, I mean just the fact that he said he was excited. Yes, yes, all right, okay, yes, I had no idea. So well, you have done an

amazing job. Anyone who has been to the museum and come to the fair, the creativity and the exhibits, it's uh and the museum is doing well I understand recently particularly yesh, Yeah, you know, it's been one of these things. The word has gotten out quite a bit. The people that are coming to it are coming from farther and farther away, so that's been really interesting. Yeah. And just I think when we spoke last that you

could only book a guided tour and that has changed. Yeah. Actually, yeah, while back, we basically put in a self guided tour to make it more available for people because there's a lot of time schedules and sometimes the full hour and a half or whatever didn't really kind of work for everybody. You'd be amazed at how many people are coming in. They they'll have weddings.

I'm just like, we want to see it. We got like a half hour, you know, and then they'll you know, they want to you know, go through and say, okay, well that is um it's actually the self guided the self guided version is actually about of forty five to fifty minute experience. Um. And it allows you to go at your own pace and such so to audio. Excuse me, they listened to audio when

there's video to go with the exhibits then yeah, yeah. So so basically there's um, you know, there's pre automated buttons that allow you to start the videos on your own, um, as opposed to having me blather at you. So but people pay to have you blather at them, so you know that's a good thing. Well all right, that's the thing. That's the thing with the you know, the exclusive guided tours, it's there's so

much information. I mean, since we've opened, I've always said the tour should be about five or six hours because the amount of time, you know, the amount of material that is you know, just have been that has been collected about the pine bush on Hudson Valley. But um, but yeah, no, it's just a way to need like the gone with the wind version. So we try and uh shrunk had it, you know, as

best we can, and we get a lot of information in there. Excellent, so uh what we can come We will definitely come back to the museum. But as we are recording this, we are a few weeks away from the UFO fare on June third, and can you tell us a little bit about that. So, yeah, we're gearing up for the for the fair.

Everything's so far going very smooth. Everyone's looking forward to it. There's a new section being added to the event area that's where you know, that's being provided for where the speakers are going to be speaking during the day. There's a SkyWatch that is happening the night before and the Alice Court Park area. I didn't know about this SkyWatch and Alice Court Park that's that's in pine

Bush. Yes, yeah, there will be. There'll be directions to the park that's off of Alice Court on the Pine Bush Museum dot com website. Okay, great, Yeah, that's a wonderful idea because I think the number one question Mike and I, you and I are always asked, where can I go to try to see a UFO, Right, Yeah, so definitely people always ask that question. Sure, they want to experience it on their own, so that's a great addition. So that will be the night before,

so that would be the night of June second. Then yes, yeah, it's going to be June second round around eight o'clock. It was a kind of a timing thing to you know, try and get make sure we do it when it you know, when it gets darker. Yeah, that helps, but but not always in Pine Bush. Lots of things during the day. Yeah. The other thing note is the United Friends Observer Society and

Support Group. They're the ones that are's hosting it. So Bill and Sue Yan will be there and they'll be kind of, you know, the hosts of the evening. And the thing that's interesting about it is we're also having we're having like it's kind of like a community night where there's going to be a stage a microphone set up, so basically people can go up and share their experiences. So I have to say that's been one of the most interesting

things since when I had opened a museum. You know, it's been a safe place for people to talk about things that they had seen and experienced, and you know, this is going to be kind of an extension of that where you know, people should you know, everyone who's out there is there because they want to you know, you look for UFOs. So they're very comfortable in which to talk about it and hopefully everyone will share their experiences with

the crowd. That that's a wonderful idea and I think that something maybe you can do not on fair days. Have have you considered doing this a couple of times a year? Yeah? Actually that was kind of um, that was kind of you know, kind of hopes with it. We figured it'd be like a great summertime thing to do, you know, um so, but it just seemed like a natural kickoff, you know, to do it the friday before you know, the fair to kind of uh, you know,

get that started and then you see where it goes from there. But yeah, I'd like to schedule a few more for provided the weather holds out. Yeah, there's that in this rainy, rainy spring we're having so great. So then the fair itself is that uh ten to four Do I have

those hours? Correct? Yes? Yeah, ten to four. And we are also starting the i'mber UFO Speaker Conference a little earlier than we had in previous years, so it's gonna be much closer towards the end of the fair, okay, So that's in the evening I believe, around five pm. Okay, before we get to the speaker conference. Now, there will be speakers such as myself plug Plug will be that will be talking during the day

and that is free during the day during the right the UFO fair. And you said that will be right by the museum there, Yes, there's an event lot that is right next to the museum. And announced the time for you to announce to me what time you want to talk, because I have to finish the poster. I think eleven am is a nice time. So you've heard it here first eleven am, June third. I will be talking about the best cases, some of the best evidence from the Hudson Valley UFOs.

All right, now I can finish my poster here and you could you share with us some of the other speakers. Um, well, right now I can share that Martin Snow and Bob Sparing of move On will be there great and also author Tom Quackenbush. We'll be speaking as well. Okay, okay, So then we have the evening about five o'clock where it does the actual speaker conference, which you do have to buy tickets for. Um.

Where does that speaker conference take place. That's going to be in the community center next to the town hall, Okay, where it was last year. Um. And what's very interesting is this is first year that we've had like a specific theme and it is basically looking into the into abductions. So I think the poster said chronicles of Abductions. Um, if I remember correctly,

it sounded good at the time. Um. But but yeah, so Kathleen Martin, uh, Nisa Betting, Berney Hill, Travis is making his way back to us, Travis Walton, Tom Reid will be there as well the Berkshire UFO incident and uh and Bill Wyant will also be hosting, you know, as he is a counselor for abductees. That seemed absolutely perfect for him to kind of get everybody prepared for the information they're going to hear. And

uh yeah, lead us into the evening, right. UM. I have a few things I want to mention about these Pacific speakers, but I think we'd better take our first break, our second break, or what are we at, Brian first breaks? Okay, I'm so into this, all right, so let's take our first break and we will be right back. Hudson River Radio dot Com. Hudson River Radio dot Com a subsidiary of Glacier Entertainment

all LC blasting the competition in New York's Hudson Valley. And we are here on UFO headquarters speaking with Lant Hollowell about the Pine Bush UFO Fair as well as the Pine Bush UFO and Paranormal Museum. And I just wanted to mention Lanson, Linda. I'm on quite a few different paranormal groups on Facebook, and often the subject of UFOs crosses over into ghosts and cryptids and things like

that. And I am surprised by the number of people who aren't from the area and many people from overseas in the UK who've heard about Pine Bush. And when I mentioned you know, if you're ever in New York, you want to go to this place called the Pine Bush UFO and ParaNorman Museum. Oh, I've heard about Pine Bush. There's a lot of you and they'll talk about it like they've so people are really aware of what's going on.

They might not know the museum is there at the moment, but they have heard about Pine Bush, whether they've seen it on television, they've read about it. So I'm always fascinated when I when I see Pine Bush pop up on a group of people that are mostly in the UK, it's to me, it's a great thing that that information has gotten out there, Right, I think, Lance, you need a marketing campaign for the UK. Now, yeah, well I'm still working on the US. But okay, okay,

you don't want to start getting airfare and admission packages. If you want to send me over, I'll go on a promotional tour over there. I

mean I would have to throw myself on the sword to do it. But you know, well, actually the there was a little bit of irony was there was a there's a marketing company that had come to me and he works with the Lego Land and he was gonna be bringing in some people from Iceland and so it actually I was like, oh my god, do I have to go through all the videos and put like some titles in now and stuff like I'm just like, you know, there's there's I was like, that

was the first thing I was afraid of it, Like that's going to add a whole new component. Now they speak they speak good English. There so we're okay, yeah, okay, all right, yeah, just in general, it's been something it's been a topic that's been approached, so okay. So I do have a few things just to mention for people who may not be familiar with the speakers at the conference or But first we don't want to

forget that Brian Hudson River Radio will be doing the audio this year. If you'd like to mention your the Hudson River Radio's presence there at the fair. You're throwing it to me now, I'm yeah, it's in your core. We'll be there. We'll be there the gazebo next to the museum, if I have that right, Lance, Yes, we'll be doing yeah, well, we'll have the pick up there, we'll be set up doing the audio.

We'll have some giveaways. We have some UFO headquarters giveaways, travel mugs, bottle openers, that kind of stuff, and you know, stuff from our other shows, Rock and Roll History Show, Linda and I do Murder in the Hudson Valley. Hopefully we can pick up some new fans there, so we'll definitely be there. I don't know if I'm going to be able to swing a costume this year. With running all the audio stuff, it kind of gets in the way the alien arms and everything. So I may

have to suck it up this year, but we'll see. Don't want the alien arms getting caught in the equipment eight when that happened, all right. So yeah, So some of the other Hudson River radio hosts will be there, so yep, Gale Nucom is going to be there from Paranormally yours. I know, Barbara Ville will be there from Shaving Cream. Others are up

in the air. We're still working on scheduling, but at least definitely, you know, listen to this a show or any of our other shows, you might actually get to see the people behind the microphones, which, for better or for worse, sometimes we can play is it a customer? Is it not? There? You go? All right? So um, just too quick go over that list again. You mentioned for the speaker conference. M Kathy Martin, Yes, you know, obviously the niece of Betty and

Barney Hill. She has been studying and cataloging abduction cases for many years and I just saw this thing that she has has investigated over five thousand cases of abduction. So not only does she have personal experience of course, but boy, she's been there, done that, speaking to people, and you know, I think she had a big project from Mouf on gathering data. So you know, with any of these things in this field, Mike, it's important to get the information down to to study it. Yeah, and if

you can. I mean, we've had Kathleen on the show here, and she's just a wealth of knowledge, not just about you know her her aunt and uncle were Betty and Barney Hill, so she has a wealth and knowledge about that whole abduction story. I mean, I've read her book. It's fascinating, but you know, just to hear all the other research she's done. She's not just known for her Betty and Barney Hill work. She's done

so much more as well as you know Travis Walton. I mean, you know if he did our intro that one, whatever it is, they're the plug. I mean every time I hear I'm like yeah, but yeah, I think it's important the more people that they can listen to that have done research, because everybody brings something different to the table. It's you know, one person doesn't have all the answers. One person isn't going to solve the big mysteries here. It's it's a combined effort and everybody grows off of one

another. You know. Yeah, we can't look at it as a competition. It's you know, we're all looking for the same answers to the really big questions out there right right now, Lance, Kathy and Travis and Tom and Bill, they will be available, Will they have tables during the day, Will peopably able to come to speak with them. I'm not sure what

Tom is doing. Um, but Kathleen and Travis will be outside, um to speak to people, okay during the day, and we have books and things, Yeah, yes, absolutely, Um, So I have to I have to check with Tom. I mean, he's more than welcome to he wherever he wishes at the museum, soay. But but yeah, it's just that he had he hadn't mentioned exactly where he wanted to land, so land, okay. Yeah. And with Tom Reid, um for those who have

no we should have him on the show, Mike um. He uh is famous or the Berkshire Sheffield, Massachusetts abduction and it was actually quite a widespread UFO event, many many witnesses and there is an actual official monument park.

I have been to it. You cross a little covered bridge and there's a plaque and the the UFO event from September first, nineteen sixty nine has been officially inducted into the Great Barrington Historical Society as I this is the the wording in this document, the first off world UFO case in US history, though a historical society has recognized it, as had the governor. In twoy fifteen, there was a Governor's citation in recognition of this off again off I love

this off world event. Governor Charles Baker signed it, and the wording in the document is that this event was factually upheld and deemed historically significant. So that's that's something. For that kind of official recognition. You don't get that much from the government or historical societies, let alone both on the same incident. So that says a lot here. Yeah. Yeah, So again, if you're like me and look for strange locations to travel to, you know,

you can go check out this monument park. It's Sheffield, Massachusetts is a beautiful area anyway, so m yeah. And then Bill Wyant, who has been running the Pine Bush Support group for many, many many years, so um yeah, So Lance, you've really put together quite the quite the list of speakers here, and it kind of just all fell together, you know, the way that it had worked out. Um, I would like to insert one thing on the with Tom Reid, we had to change our

tour because of the unsolved Mysteries that this incident was showcased in. Because we would get we would always get up to the part where we discussed how his grandmother was put in the long excuse me and the wrong seat in the car, and everybody recognized this story from onsal mystery. So um so yeah, So we ended up carry law in our in house sculptor ended up sculpting the alien that was witnessed by the family, and we had just we just kind

of replaced the So was unsolved. It was unsolved mysteries not happy you you were using their material. Oh no, no, no, no, oh no, we were just in we were presenting this, you know, And it was just like kind of everybody had heard about it because everybody saw the episodes. That was kind of funny. It was just kind of nod like, oh yeah, we heard about that, man, so you wanted to

have something that was different. Yeah, so yeah, no one had really I don't know if they showed an image of the alien or not, so we put a sculpture of that. Yeah, which is great. I love that. I love that. So just to mention a few other things going on at the fair that day. You don't have to be completely serious about the UFO, you know, because I know amongst families, amongst the couples, like you know, one spouse might be really into the topic and the

other one thinks it's garbage. So you can still both come because there's enough going on during the day whether you're serious or not at all serious about UFOs. Correct, Yes, I mean there is a it's a very wide different demographics that are you know, it's available for you know, there's something for everybody there. That's the whole idea of the fair, and kids as well, so certainly bring britting your kids. There's going to be live music all

day, correct, all day, all different locations. We're gonna have signs to where the bands are playing and such, so there's going to be you know, if you want to see blue Blue Alienistic this way, I'm going to see Brendel's jazz, then that's gonna be that way. So yeah, it'll all be laid out very soon. For everybody to see where they're going. And what about this intriguing galactic game show. Yes, there will be, you know, a UFO game show, and that will be you know,

be able to win prizes there. Um. So I think this year we have a tesla. I'm kidding, you know, no, to just be some fun prizes for anybody that wants to to come up. Um and of course the best in galaxy and beauty pageant. Um. Well, we need to pause right there because this is your chance to uh Mike to uh hold on display your laurels. I am too bad. People can't see what we're doing. I'm puffing up my shirt here. And but I am a I am a former first place winner and the best in the galaxy. Not

me as a model, me as a makeup artist. And I was very happy to do that. Um, I do have commitments on the day this year, Otherwise I probably would have done it again. Oh I you know, I had this idea for Mike to do and we'll keep that a secret in case next year, next year, next year, Okay, okay, but yeah, I mean some people do amazing if you're a special effects makeup artist or you're just a kid, who wants to put on an alien costume.

All are welcome, correct clients, absolutely, yes, indeed. Yeah, so all right, anything else you want to mention about the fair day itself? Yes, I was just kidding. We really do not have a

tesla to give away. Yeah, no, it's uh. We are trying to extend things throughout the weekend and so currently the plan is, you know, so we have the SkyWatch that Friday of the second, of course, the fair June third, during the day, the evening is the pine Bush UFO Speaker conference, and the Sunday the fourth, actually we're looking to kick off our new program, which is the pine Bush Haunted History Lantern Tour UM

and we'll be taking pre bookings for them. Okay, so this is UM as as Mike and I know, pine Bush is not only filled with UFOs, extremely haunted. Yes, so people will be taken through the streets of that doesn't sound like taken through the street. You will be walking through the street, will be we will be gently and carefully promenading down the okay,

telling stories of the hauntings there right. Yes, So what's very interesting is UM the fact that it is really it's really getting the downtown businesses involved because you know, this idea was started with you through the inception of your work, UM and UH in pushing through it a little bit further, we started talking to some of the people that, um, you hadn't met with, and we were surprised to learn some of the you know, some of the

businesses that we were just happy to be talking to about this actually had experiences that they've been sharing with us UM and so their information and their experiences are going on the tour. So yeah, that's great. Yeah, pine Bush

is just a place of mystery and wonder inside and out. I have to admit, you know, when we're first starting the museum and everything, I mean I knew pine Bush was already on the map, but actually it was dan Ackroid on a Joe Rogan interview that actually, you know, I was you know, I was listening to it, you know, with interest and everything, and then he just dropped pine Bush. I was like, no, way, Like it's on It's on dan Ak Grad's radar. So I

thought that was pretty cool. And Mike, would you like to, um, you know, speak up about our involvement with the danna give us another Yeah, I don't if I don't. I don't know that we've ever actually plugged this on the show and why we didn't. But both Linda and I are two of the um it's only a few of us that were commentators on seasons one and seasons two of Hotel Paranormal. It was on the Travel Channel here in the US, and I think it's Travel and Leisure in Canada.

But not only was it a really great show, but dan Ackroid was the narrator, which is just the coolest thing on earth. Thinking he might have watched it and saw you and I like, oh, I know he did. Yes, Yeah, so you know, yeah, I've gotten feedback of you know, his commentary on our commentary. But yeah, when when a producer calls and says, do you want to do a paranormal show with dan Ackroid, I mean there's one answer. Yes. I think I actually traveled

through the phone lines and ended up on their desk. I was so eager. I'm like, okay, I'm here. Yeah, that was a great experience and anybody could you confind it online? Very well done too, You'll enjoy it. It's a well done show. So hopefully one of these days dan Ackroid will be at one of these pine Bush events. Lance, can you work your magic on that. I've been trying to doctor strange this thing

for a while. I keep having, you know, like a lead, you know, jumping the report, trying to find out you know, agents and stuff coming back. It's like, yeah, it's just it's it's been. It's gonna be a timing thing. So all right, Well, who knows. Maybe Dan's listening to our show right now and we want you in pine Bush or at least on UFO headquarters. Yes, please, we'd be more than happy. So, um, if we can go back to the museum. Um, I'm I'm curious. I've heard some things, but what

you know, visitors don't know what to expect. I mean, there's not a lot of UFO museums in the world, or what do we have Roswell and pine Bush that I know of? How do how do visitors react what you know, you know, without giving away what the exhibits are, I mean, how do they feel when they come in? Are they enthusiastic?

Are they into it? Um? Well, you know, it's it's ironic that it's ironic that you had asked it that way, because one of the things that I'll do, um, whether it's kind of capping off, whether I do the guided tour or it was just people that I you know, um, you know, interact with. When I hear that they're ending they're self guided tour, I'll be like I pretty much asked that outright, like, so was it what you expected? And um that has been has yielded

like many many um surprised answers, you know. I mean meaning, you know, these people are kind of they didn't know what to expect, and they're all pleasantly surprised. I don't want to paraphrase just to you know, for the sake of marketing, but that's usually people are like, we don't know what to expect, and this was awesome, you know, so you know, and I think that's half the thing. I mean, what will

you expect when you go to a UFO museum, you know? So um yeah, it's uh, it's not like I'm in league with the government and I've got like a big piece of a crash ship somewhere, you know. It's just they don't you know, they don't know what to expect, and that would definitely raise the ticket price. But um, but either way, uh yeah, no, it's just, um, you know, this is from after years of trying to cultivate this and you know, really seeing what

interests people and knowing which which exhibits to put in and everything. Yeah, it's it's it's been great. It's really been good because there's we've gotten such a positive response just because it is. It's a nice surprise for people. And I'm sorry, I just want to add into something here on the museum, because I think some people get the initial concept. Oh it's a UFO museum. It's gonna be hokey. They're gonna see flying saucers on the wall

and little green men. This is professional quality museum. I want people to understand. This isn't you know, thrown up stickers on the wall in a couple of exhibits. This is so well done, so well curated and presented. I was blown away when I took the tour initially because I didn't know what to expect either. So I want people to really know that this place is, you know, put all your preconceived notions aside. This is beyond what you can ever imagine. You'll come out of there a changed person,

There's no doubt. I very very much appreciate. I appreciate that now I have personally been there. When someone looks at a exhibit and says, that's what I saw, you know that they're validating the exhibits, you know, the information we have, and also they can add to it with their personal

experiences. Yes, that is something that happens very often, bit more often than not, actually, because they will see one thing that inspires the memory of something that they've seen or you know, something that looks similar or I knew someone that saw that or the like. And we've actually, we've actually gotten some exhibits that have come from that where people actually willing to talk to

us further about there, about what they've seen. So, um, I have to tell you there's a there's a very small side exhibit that that's going in based on two people that came in and they had witnessed something that they can that's all they could do is kind of call it an alien and they didn't know what they saw and based on the shape of it and based on the the way that it moved and where they had seen it and everything, so they were kind enough to to share the story and we recorded and I

did basically I did a police sketch and they said that's it, so you know, so it's basically so I was able to do like a little description. So it's not gonna be a huge exhibit, but it was very interesting. It was based on like direct witness uh you know, direct witness testimony and they came in a museum and they shared it with us. So well, that's great that you know, the museum is you know, the visitors are contributing to the collection. And I think we need a second break,

is that correct, Brian? Before we come back. I have a few more questions and we can wrap up. But let's take our second break. This is Hudson River Radio dot com, your local Rockland County station. This is Hudson River Radio dot com. Well, we are back here with some great information to night Land about the Pine Bush Museum, the Pine Bush Ufaufare and Lance. You're just always great to have and talk to your wealth of

information. And um, I'm upset that I can't make the fair. Now, if if things work out with my schedule that day, I might have a little bit of time. Maybe I'll throw my stormtrooper armor on. So if you see a stormtrooper walking around it might be me, thank so it better be you. Yeah. So you know, I just have one or two other things to mention. Um. You know, this is the Pine Bush UFO and Paranormal Museum. You do have some really creepy exhibits and you

are going to be adding some really top notch cryptids exhibits as well. Yes, and well, I actually have to thank you again for this. So I don't know. Had you mentioned that you had done the cryptid talk for the school group that had come in. No, I didn't get I didn't mention that. No, Okay, Well, everybody Linda's a roomin was kind enough to come in and there was a folklore class that was happening, and she did an entire talk about cryptids. And the irony of this is because

of the amount of witness testimony and that was being presented. Um. There was talk of um putting in a dog man exhibit. Um. And it was interesting. On the fact when Linda had mentioned and now dog man, there was clapping like these. I was not expecting this and I was like, what's happening? Clapping and cheering and cheering. Yeah, so there is a I guess I'm like this invested interest in dog Man right now that I don't know. Is it like a TikTok thing? I don't know what's going

on. And I I paused the presentation and Lance was on the side of the room and I said, do you hear this, Lance? People love dog Man? Yeah? So so yeah, so um, but we're yeah, we're basically through a collections of things. There is One of our gallery lectures coming up is with Mason Winfield on May twentieth, and he's going to be talking about little people and puck Wedgies. He's a Iroquois supernaturalist ex Burgess. His work is very, very interesting and so yeah, so we're touching

upon all new stuff for the museum. Yeah, all things strange, which is right up our alleys. All right, Well that was the questions I had, Mike. Did you have anything else you wanted to bring up? No, I think we covered the big points. And again, if you're listening and can get to New York State, go to the Pine Bush Museum. You won't regret it. In fact, it should be the purpose of your visit the company New York and go to Pine Bush. I mean it's

just great. Really, I can't plug it enough. And we don't get any kickback to anything. I'm plugging it because I genuinely um and I genuinely believe it's It gets the message out in a professional way. It brings that extra credibility to the field that that is sometimes lacking in other places. This is like, no, this is a serious endeavor. This is something that we take seriously. It's not a game. It's not a joke, it's not a haja. We believe in aliens. It's we put our heart and

soul into these topics and the paranormal. So and that's how we want people when they come out of there.
