Hudson River Radio dot com. This is Travis Walton and you are listening to UFO Headquarters Fuiful. Welcome everyone. This is a slightly different episode with the holidays and vacations and scheduling. Just couldn't get a regular episode together. So it's just me tonight and I will be reading two stories of possible abduction from
my book Hudson Valley UFOs the best evidence. So put up your feet, close your eyes, and unless you're driving a car, that wouldn't be good, but relax, maybe turn the lights down low, and hope you enjoy the following two episodes, which will begin right after the first break. Millerton, New York, June nineteen seventy two. It was June of nineteen seventy two and Audrey Garay was driving home from Sharon, Connecticut, where she worked
the second shift at a hospital. Her mother had watched her five month old son that night, and she was driving both of them back to her house in Millerton, New York. It was about eleven fifty pm and they were on Coleman Station Road, heading towards Route twenty two. The sky was clear and the stars were shining. Suddenly, the two women noticed a starlike light in the sky that was twinkling blue, red, and green. At the same time, both of them said, look at that plain. They had
no sooner spoken those words. When the small light descended so rapidly it looked as though it was falling out of the sky. They both put their hands over their ears because they didn't want to hear that terrible sound of the plane that was obviously about to crash into the ground. In the blink of an eye, however, the bright object came to a complete dead stop right in
front of them, and it absolutely wasn't a plane. It was a disc shaped object that hovered about fifty feet in front of the car at an altitude of about fifty to seventy five feet. It was at least the size of two houses, Audrey said. It had a dome on top a silvery metallic color, and just beneath the dome were a bank of rectangular windows. The bottom edge was ringed with a bright, multicolored light that appeared to rotate. The only sound they heard was a hum, a very soothing, soft hum,
she said, But that's where the soothing part ended. The craft was brightly lit on the inside, and Audrey and her mother could clearly see the occupants through the windows. Although Audrey remembers their being about six figures, her mother adamantly maintained she could count seven. However, that wasn't really the most important observation. There was something they both agreed upon, and it is arguably the most unsettling aspect of this case. They were definitely non human, and
I will take that to the grave. Audrey told me we could see them from about mid chest up. Their faces were pear shaped, and they had huge black eyes that were almost almond shaped. Their chests were concave, and their shoulders and arms were very thin and very spindly. They had grayish skin, no clothes, and the interior was so brightly lit we could see what looked like computers or control panels. I asked what these figures were doing,
and Audrey replied they were looking right at us. The six or seven strange figures and the two terrified women stared at one another for about forty five seconds. Then a brilliant blue white light came out at an angle from underneath the craft and lit up the car like lightning. The blinding light hurt their eyes and they raised their hands to shield their faces. Then, just as suddenly, the light and the craft were gone, but as their eyes were readjusting
to all the darkness, they could still hear that distinctive humming sound. Mom Where is it, Audrey asked, straining to see where the huge craft could have gone. So quickly, Audrey, it's above the car. Her mother shouted, it's right above the car. That was the moment Audrey experienced the most terror, not for herself but for her baby. She had no idea what was happening, but her primary concern was to get her son to safety. They waited breathlessly as the seconds ticked by, then one minute, then
another. Finally, the edge of the craft inched over the windshield and came into sight. Maintaining the same low altitude, The large discs slowly moved ahead of the car, following every bend in the road. She waited until the craft was about a hundred feet ahead of her before she eased the car forward. Audrey didn't want to catch up with the craft and its bizarre occupants,
but she had to take that road if they were to get home. At the creeping rate of about five miles per hour, Audrey drove of the rest of the way on that road, a distance of one point six miles, she later measured, with the frightening craft just five or six car lengths ahead. She reached the intersection of Route twenty two, where they saw another car
that had pulled over so the driver could watch the slow moving disk. The craft continued to remain directly in front of them on Route twenty two, but when Audrey turned down her street McGhee Hill Road, they finally lost sight of the craft, but not before noting it was heading in the direction of Albany. Audrey told her husband what they had witnessed, and he thought they were just crazy. As they had no camera, there was no way to prove
what they had seen, or so they thought. The next day, Audrey's mother was watching television and she yelled to her daughter to come and look. There was a newscast about two New York States policeman who saw the same disc shaped craft the night before around two am in Albany. Unfortunately, the newscasters were making fun of the report, and it was clear they all thought it
was a big joke. At that point, Audrey decided she had to report their sighting to someone, so she called the Civil Defense Department in Poughkeepsie. She expected that they would either hang up or laugh at her, but instead, they carefully took down all of the details of her sighting, including the direction the craft took. When she was finished telling her story, she voiced her surprise that they were taking her seriously. The man replied, ma'am,
we've had hundreds and hundreds of reports coming in all night long. Audrey was even further surprised when he admitted, we have been tracking the object. So what was done about this mysterious craft seen by hundreds of witnesses, including the state police in nineteen seventy two a craft being tracked by Civil Defense? Apparently nothing, as no word about the incident was ever heard on the news again.
About seven months later, Audrey was just getting into bed when she heard her dog and all of the dogs in the neighborhood start barking frantically, and she was wondering what could be going on. She heard the distinctive and unmistakable humming sound again directly over her house. She tried to wake her husband, but found she couldn't move or speak. Once again. She was afraid for her child in the next room, but she was powerless to help him.
Audrey was certain she was not asleep, as she had just gotten into bed. The paralysis lasted about three or four hours, and then just at sunrise, the humming ceased and she was suddenly released. She jumped out of bed and ran to her son's room. She checked him all over for any kind of injuries, but he was apparently unharmed. When her husband awoke, she told him the story, but he hadn't heard a thing. Later that day, she asked neighbors what they thought about all the dogs barking all night,
but they hadn't heard anything either. There were no more encounters over the next six years, and despite her fear for her son's safety, Audrey's attitude toward the strange visitors changed. I think they chose me to talk about them because
they somehow knew I'm not one to be intimidated. I don't care if I'm ridiculed for speaking about UFOs, because I'm confident in what I I saw and I haven't stopped talking about it. Audrey actually grew to feel that she had some sort of connection with the beings in the craft, and she was going to get the opportunity to prove that. Around nineteen seventy eight, her husband and cousin were away on business, so she and her cousin's wife, Julia,
decided to have a girl's night out. They went to the Red Barn tavern in Millerton, but as soon as the ladies entered, they realized it was not the kind of place for them. It was a very rough crowd, she said, filled with bikers, so they left right away. They decided to go to a nicer place in a Menia the tally Ho, and took back road toward town. As they were driving on downy Road, Audrey noticed an orange amber light in the sky. The light was diving then shooting
up things a plane could never do. Look at that ufo, she said to Julia. Every time you see a light, you think it's a UFO, Julia chided her. She then went on to make fun of Audrey and laugh at her belief in aliens and spacecraft from another world. How could you say it's not a UFO, Audrey replied, incredulous that her friend wouldn't believe what she was seeing with her own eyes. Despite the inexplicable movement of the light, Julia continued to mock Audrey. Then I thought to myself, I
wish it would please come closer so I could prove it to Julia. Audrey explained, No, sooner had I thought that. When the light began rapidly dropping altitude and headed straight for us, Julia began screaming for us to get out of there because the object was suddenly right over the car. I was just learning to drive a standard transmit, and Audrey said, and I stalled the car several times, and each time Julia kept screaming for us to get
away. Once I got it going, the disc shaped craft continued to follow right above the car for the next half mile, and Julia kept begging for me to drive faster. We decided to head straight from my house, but the disc stayed with us. It wasn't until we turned down McGhee Hill Road that it broke off and went away. Julia was so traumatized she wouldn't drive to her house alone, so Audrey's brother had to escort her from that night,
Julia was a firm believer and alien spacecraft. Also that night, Audrey became convinced that she had some sort of telepathic connection with the beams. There would be several other sightings over the years, but none so close again. Audrey did see several types of craft, including some in the nineteen eighties that were so massive she described them as flying cities. I asked if anything unusual had happened to her when she was a child, and wasn't too surprised to
find out that something had occurred. In October of nineteen sixty one, when she was eleven. She was outside with her twin brother and three friends when they saw quote a thing with multi colored lights moved very very fast from horizon to horizon. Oddly, her brother has no recollection of the event, which at the time made quite an impression on everyone. Two of the friends have since passed away, but the third witness is a man who retired after her
thirty five year long career in the Air Force. He still vividly recalls the sighting and maintains that after a lifetime of dealing with all manner of aircraft, he still never saw anything like that multi colored object in nineteen sixty one. Although her twin brother couldn't recall that sighting, another brother was to have a remarkable experience in two thousand and nine when he spotted a huge triangular craft. It silently passed directly over him while he was driving, and he jumped out
of his truck and aimed a bright flashlight up at it. He described the underside as quote rippling like liquid mercury. A very unique sighting to say the least, and one that made him a firm believer too. So have all these sightings had any lasting impact on Audrey? Yes, as that night in June of nineteen seventy two was nothing left than life changing. All of my ideas about religion changed. She told me, I just can't buy into all
that anymore. There's something so far beyond that. I feel honored that they chose me. I can stand to the ridicule because I trust my own eyes, and I trust my own judgment, and I feel like their family. It's cool. A couple of days after my interview with Audrey, she emailed me that she had tracked down Julia, who was now living in North Carolina. I called and left a message, and the next day Julia and I spoke so I could get her side of the story of what happened that night
in nineteen seventy eight. There are some details of that night I don't recall, but there are things that are so clear I will never forget, Julia began. She and Audrey had gone to the bar that night, hoping to meet some friends, but there wasn't anyone there that they knew, so they left right away. Julia was letting Audrey drive her car as she wanted to
learn how to drive a standard transmission. As they were driving down a road that had big flat fields on either side, Audrey pointed to a strange light in the sky that was making odd turns and drawing closer. All of a sudden, it was right above us, she said, excitement still noticeable in her voice over thirty years later. I was screaming at Audrey to drive faster. She kept stalling the car, and I was yelling at her to let
me drive. I was scared. Julia described the circular metallic craft as having bright lights, and it wasn't flat. There were ridges on the bottom. She said, she has no idea how long the craft was above them, and their very well could have been missing time. But the light disappeared as suddenly as it had come. She was still so frightened when she got back to Audrey's house that she asked Audrey's brother to follow her home, but she admitted, of course, now that I think about it, what could he
have done. Julia was scared for quite a while after the event, but despite the fear, she learned to never doubt that UFOs are out there. About five or six years later, Julia had another sighting, but this one was different in a number of ways. First of all, this ufo was not circular. It was clearly triangular, and it didn't come nearly as close. Also, as Julia didn't doubt the existence of UFOs, she was a
little more prepared this time, so she wasn't as scared. Many others around the area saw the same triangle that night, including her husband, who saw it from another location, so she didn't have the burden of trying to get her family and friends to believe what she saw. So how did that first sighting influence her life? I am much more open to things. I'm glad
I did see it because then I knew something more is out there. I'm not afraid anymore, although I sometimes wonder if we were abducted that night. Here's an addendum to the story. On a hot and humid Friday, August seventeenth, twenty twelve, Sarah and Felix Olivieri, who I worked with making the film In the Night Sky, met at Audrey's home in Sharon, Connecticut to interview her for the film. I was a little early, and Audrey
and I sat in her kitchen talking about all kinds of things. Audrey has an amazing sense of humor, and I was laughing my rear end off at her stories. When Sarah and Felix arrived, Felix made some preliminary sketches of the circular craft Audrey had seen. Then I went to Audrey's car, and Sarah and Felix followed us on the exact course that Audrey, her mother, and son took that night in June of seventy two. We stopped in the
road right where she had stopped forty years earlier. This is where we had chosen to conduct the on camera interview with Audrey. And while it was visually a great location, other aspects made it less than ideal for starters. The stench of fresh manure from the farm fields was so overpowering that I had to suppress a gag when the wind blew our direction. Then there were the flies
and bees that kept landing on us. After the cameras were rolling. We tried to Sarah titiously swathed them away, But when a fly lands on the tip of your nose, not once, but twice, there's just no way it's going to look good on the big screen. So I silently hoped Felix would do some creative editing. Despite the sickening odor and bugs, it was fascinating to hear Audrey's story at the exact location where her first sighting occurred.
It was even more I opening when we drove the few miles to her old house and I realized just how long this sighting actually took. All in all, she estimated that the ship was within fifty to one hundred feet of her for a full half hour. Also, Audrey took me to the spot on
Downey Street where she and Julia had their close encounter. This little trip illustrated the importance of actually visiting these sights because I realized it was less than two miles her old home and less than a mile as the UFO flies from her first encounter. The Downey Street location was essentially due north from the Coleman Station encounter, across an expanse of open farm fields. When you see how close together her old house and the sighting locations were, it's hard to believe it
was all a coincidence. Hudson RhE Radio dot Com. The dot com makes it cool. Pine Island, New York, nineteen seventy three. In nineteen seventy three, Debbie went to stay with her grandmother after the elderly woman had a stroke. Her grandmother's house was in Pine Island, in the Black Dirt region of southern Orange County, New York, known for its onion farms. Debby was fifteen years old and she wanted to do whatever she could to help
her grandmother. The house was in quite an isolated area out in the fields, and there was just one small stand of trees near by. The first night there, Debby, who was supposed to be sleeping on the couch in the living room, found herself restless and awake most of the night. She finally got up and started walking around the house. Through a large picture window in the living room, she noticed a bright light behind a stand of trees.
She assumed it must be a street light, even though there weren't any other street lights in the area. The fourth or fifth time she looked out, the light was gone. As she stood by the window, wondering what had happened. To her surprise and fear, she saw a bright ball of light hover about a foot or two off the ground. The light appeared as if it was looking into the downstairs window of the house. Sensing that the light was going to come up to the picture window, Debbi became really scared
and tried to hide, crouching on the floor against the couch. She then started praying to God to help her, and she clenched her eyes shut. Tense moments passed, and when she dared to look, quote, sure enough there was the light in the window. It was about the size between a grapefruit and a cantalope, and it was a beautiful, brilliant, blinding white. Up to this point, the light had been steady, but it now quote flashed. I remembered it flashing three times, and you could feel the
vibrations in the air and this energy surging with each flash. You could hear it and you could feel it. It was like a sound. I was just shaking with fear, saying, God, get me out of this, get me through this. I don't want to know this. Then the next thing I remember, it was several hours later. It was morning and I was waiting for my grandmother to wake up. Debbie told her what had happened, and the woman said, no, no, no, you were just
dreaming. Debby told her it was real, but her grandmother insisted she had only been dreaming. She then called her mother and told her about the strange light, but her mother also said it was either a dream or she was making it up. The two women simply refused to believe her, and they convinced her to stay another night. Debbie went to a circus that evening and tried to forget about what had happened. She got home about eleven PM and
her grandmother was already in bed. Shortly after a ri having back at the house, she became frantically scared, she said, as the light had returned behind the trees again. She prayed that whatever it was would go away, because quote, I didn't want to see anything, I didn't want to know anything. Debbie has no more recollections of the rest of the night, as the next thing she knew it was morning. The whole night had become missing
time. This time, when she called home, she insisted that her mother, come and get me, because I don't want to be here anymore. Her mother did come and brought her back to Middletown, but the story doesn't end there. As Debbie was changing her clothes, she noticed she had three strange marks on her abdomen below and to the left of her navel quote. They were sort of circular and sort of oval, but not perfectly circular oval,
but they were perfectly space between one another and the outer image. There was no flaw, she said, describing the smooth outlines of the reddish marks that were positioned in a perfect equilateral triangle, as if they had been made by some instrument or machine. She showed the marks to her mother and a few of her friends, and the bizarre triangle lasted about three weeks until it
finally faded away. I first heard Debby's account when I was at a meeting of the United Friends Observer Society in Pine Bush in June of twenty twelve. It was her first meeting, and as she had finally decided after all these years to tell her story, she was hesitant to speak at first, but realized she was in the right place to mention the marks on her abdomen.
Because before she could describe them. Some of the other female attendees asked if the marks had been below her navel on the left side, and if they had been, there had been three of them in the shape of a triangle. The women who posed those questions had personal experiences similar to Debby's and had received the same marks in the same location. After the meeting, I gave
Debby my card and told her about my project. I hoped that she would let me use her story in the book and film, but after a week, when I didn't hear from her, I had pretty much given up hope. Then I received the following email. You and I met at the last Pine Bush UFO meeting in the Walker Valley school House. I told the story of my experience with the UFO abduction when I was fifteen at my grandmother's house in Pine Island. You were intrigued and asked if I would be interested in
telling my story for a documentary you were putting together. I have given it some thought and decided to do it with the understanding that I would like to be kept anonymous. A few weeks later, Sarah and Felix Olivierian I met at Debbie's house to film the interview. She was understandably a little nervous, but I assured her that the beauty of video was that everything could be edited, and she if she felt something wasn't quite right, we could do it
again. And thank god this wasn't a live broadcast, because just as the cameras started rolling, Debbie told me there was a quote large gap in my blouse along the button line. It was a new shirt and I thought the bright blue colors would look great on camera, but didn't realize that when I sat down, the spaces between the buttons kind of open outward. Sarah came
to the rescue to remedy this wardrobe malfunction with bright yellow duct tape. I carefully placed the pieces of tape on the inside of my shirt and between the buttons and hoped that it would not show and would hold together long enough to finish the interview. As Felix put it, it was all footage for the
blooper reel. Once I had battened down my hatches, we began. Debbie told her story with true feeling and emotions, and I wished the audience would have had the opportunity to see her eyes and expressions as she spoke, but we were honoring her request to have her image concealed. When she finished recounting the Pine Island experiences, I asked if she had ever had any other unusual
things happened before that. I always thought it was my first experience, but then after going to the meeting, it made me realize there were more things that had happened earlier in my life. I had to have been younger than ten because it was a certain house that we lived in, and I remember this family of ghosts visiting me. There were two adults and two children.
Every night, I would sleep with my bedroom door open, and this family of ghosts would literally stand in the doorway entrance and they would just stand there, peacefully and quietly. And I remember that after they were visiting me for a couple of weeks or longer, that it became a nuisance to me. I was never afraid of them, but they became a nuisance to me. Why do you refer to them as ghosts? I asked? What did they
look like? They were again, perfection, a beautiful white, not a brilliant, bright white, but they were a beautiful, perfectly formed white. And the reason I say they were two adults and two children, as that two were taller and two were shorter, and they just stood there peacefully. But when it became a nuisance and it was interfering with me trying to fall
asleep, I closed the bedroom door and they never bothered me again. I then asked Debby if anything had happened prior to these white beings at her bedroom door. She replied that when she was very young, she had a lot of nightmares. Having had children of her own, she eventually realized that children do have nightmares, but hers were almost every night and always with a similar theme. I'm not going into the details, she said, but they always
had to do with being kidnapped, the process of being kidnapped. I asked if she had any dreams since she had told her story the meeting. Actually, yes, I have been noticing I have been having dreams. They are like an intrusion of my privacy, she replied, choosing her words carefully. Just things that I'm trying to get away from, things that I can't escape.
Do you think the fact that you're speaking about this more memories are coming up, I suggested, It's possible, or I'm just becoming more aware of things that have been Debby replied, thoughtfully, any of your children or grandchildren ever have experiences, I asked, Not that I know of. She said, no, have your parents or other family members ever mentioned anything unusual? I asked, continuing this line of questioning, as experience had taught me that
these people often had relatives who also had some type of encounter. Actually, Debbie began slowly as a light seemed to be dawning in her mind. My mother had an experience when I was again, probably under the age of ten, when we were in that one house. She had this experience where she kept seeing a light but it wasn't a bright light, and she wanted to tell us, but nobody believed her, and she was like, really,
really, this really happened. And I remember she woke us up one night and looking out the front door of the house and this light that looked like the moon, that type of light. It was in the sky, and it came forward and got larger, but I don't remember the size. It was so many years ago, but I remember this moonlight light coming closer, zooming in, and then zooming out. But that's the only other thing, Okay, Well, that's important, I replied, not at all surprised that
these sightings extended over many years into different family members. With all of my research and interviews, I knew a pattern when I saw one. You know, you don't start thinking about things until you start thinking. Debbie stated a point which emphasized the importance of examining the big picture of any suspected UFO case. Things that at first seemed completely unrelated could be important pieces of the whole
puzzle. Have you ever been under hypnosis or planned to be? I asked, no. She replied, Okay, the incident that occurred when you were fifteen definitely frightened you. How have you felt in the decades since. Ah? Mostly I just push it aside as a life experience. But at the same time, it kind of irks me in what way? I asked, Surprised? It makes me curious as to what it all means, what it
could mean later on. I think that's why I went to the meeting at Pine Bush, because I thought I would learn something more or become aware of what's happening, And sure enough I did. I was surprised to see all of those people. There were a lot more people than I expected, and
they knew stuff that I didn't even know was occurring. Debbie then got chills recalling how the women at the meeting had described the three marks on their abdomens, and she thought, my god, this is something that's happened to other people. I admit to having goosebumps too, as she recalled that moment. I remember at the time thinking, how do they know where the marks were? Did this meeting then give you a kind of comfort, I asked,
knowing that there are other people. Yes, I'm anxious to go to the next meeting, Debby replied, smiling with a sense of relief she didn't have to remain silent any longer, and that there were other people out there who would not only listen to her, but understand what she had experienced. So how would you categorize all of your experiences? Positive? Negative, or a mixture? I asked. I feel like I'm in the loop, she replied
with a laugh. You know, I feel like something inevitable, something of ventual, is going to occur for everyone to understand, and I'm like two steps ahead of them. While Debby admits she still has a little fear in her she is opened and curious about the field of UFO research and wants to learn more. She doesn't know she will have any more personal encounters, but
at this point in her life she has more curiosity than fear. I concluded the interview by asking Debby what advice she had for other people who may have had a similar experience. Don't take it personally in the sense that you ridicule yourself or allow others to ridicule you. Understand that there are thousands upon thousands of other people that have experienced similar things, and just have an open mind. Try not to be afraid of it, but be wise. Hudson River
