Phil is married to Betty, and together are the parents of Owen and Lily. Phil has been an ordained minister in the Christian Reformed Church of North America for the past 20 years, having served two Canadian congregations, Burnaby CRC (1990-1997) and then River Park CRC (formerly First CRC) in Calgary, Alberta as Sr. Pastor from 1997 – 2010.
