Episode description

On this week's episode, Teresa and Sam interview Czech painter Barbora Kysilkova over a cup of dirty chai. Barbora Kysilkova is one of the two main subjects of this year's acclaimed documentary, The Painter and the Thief, directed by Benjamin Ree. The Painter and the Thief tells the story of an unlikely friendship between Barbora Kysilkova and Bertil Nordland, the man who stole two of Barbora's most famous paintings. Barbora talks to Teresa and Sam about painting as a physical form of expression, her friendship with Bertil, and her experience being the subject of a piece of art, rather than its creator.
