Episode description

“You make me feel like a natural woman.” “This is a man's world but it wouldn't be nothing, nothing without a woman or a girl.” Ladies and gentlemen, what does it mean to be a woman? Or a man? Are these even inherently different or are these labels slapped on us by society, dictating how we're expected to behave, how we should talk and walk and how much we should earn. Dr. Sarai Aharoni is a senior lecturer and researcher in the gender studies program at Ben Gurion University of the Negev. Her research deals with gender, feminism and international relations with a focus on the effects of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on the status of women and the participation of Israeli women in peace talks, non-governmental organizations and civil activity for peace. We're thrilled to be joined today by Dr. Sarai Aharoni to discuss women, men and everything in between.
