Episode description

Arpon Basu of the Athletic Montreal is covering the Eastern Conference Final in Edmonton for the Athletic, and joins Scott from the bubble to talk about what it is like to be back in a rink to cover an NHL game.

Arpon and Scott preview game one of the Eastern Conference Final with the powerhouse Tampa Bay Lightning taking on the underdogs from Long Island, the playoff magic of Jean Gabriel Pageau and the absence of Steven Stamkos from the playoffs.

We head West for a very early morning chat with Vegas Golden Knights studio analyst on TV Mike McKenna.  Vegas outlasted Vancouver in game seven to advance to the Western Final vs Dallas.  Pete Deboer handed Marc-Andre Fleury the start in game one, but the Knights offence was suffocated by a Dallas team that trapped the high powered Vegas team in game one to take an early lead in the series.

The guys also talk about how vital goaltending depth has become during this compressed pandemic schedule, as teams for the most part have used both goalies on their roster during the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
