Episode description

Songwriter Adam Schlesinger passed away April 1, 2020, at the age of 52 due to complications related to the coronavirus. Schlesinger, perhaps best-known for the song "Stacy's Mom," was a member of Fountains of Wayne, Ivy and Tinted Windows, wrote songs for films such as "That Thing You Do," "Josie and the Pussycats" and "Music and Lyrics," the TV series "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," award shows like the Tony Awards and Broadway, including "Cry-Baby: The Musical." We do a deep dive into why Schlesinger is one of the great unsung songwriters.
