Paul Thurrott has a tip for those running the Windows Insider version of Windows 10. Microsoft has been improving Cortana, and now in the Cortana windows that pops up, you'll have the ability to filter results by apps, files, settings or web.
For power users, you can start a search using any of those words. For example, "apps: [search term]." There are a lot of ways Cortana is improving, and this one is a pretty basic function that's been around for a long time but hasn't been implemented into Windows 10 yet. If you're not running the Insider version of Windows 10, this will be coming to the regular version of Windows 10 in time.
