3 Tishrei: Create the Right Environment

CREATE THE RIGHT ENVIRONMENT …Quality of life depends on the quality of the air one breathes… The first general step in healing is to purify the atmosphere. (HaYom Yom, 11 Teves) One of the most basic achievements that will be reached during the Messianic era will be that “the spirit of impurity [i.e. evil] will be banished from this world.” At that point, mankind will re-experience the spiritual purity found in the Garden of Eden and beyond! In order to achieve this, we must do whatever we can to sanctify the atmosphere. Lighting Shabbos candles on the eve of Shabbos, reciting words of Torah by memory, especially as one goes about one’s activities in the secular world, and performing acts of goodness are all specific ways that one can spiritually purify the environment and prepare the world for Moshiach.
