3 Adar: No More Tears

NO MORE TEARS In the past, it was common to serve G-d with sorrow and tears. In our generation, we stand so close to the Redemption that bitterness has no place in our service of teshuvah. This is true for a number of reasons: We no longer have the strength for sorrow, bitterness, or tears. Instead, we must seek to inspire, uplift, and encourage. After all of the suffering the Jewish People have endured, especially during the Holocaust, we have become refined to the point that we can immediately begin serving G-d with joy. We are now right before the time of Moshiach, which is compared to Shabbos. Shabbos (and even the hours leading up to it) is a time of joy, when we are forbidden to mourn or cry.
