Transcript

GRADUATING FROM GOLUS The essence of the soul (the yechidah) emerges through overcoming tests and obstacles. When the essence is revealed, the animal soul unveils its inherent G-dliness. This finds expression in the intensity with which one fulfills Torah and mitzvos—with an inner enthusiasm, with a sense of great delight and tremendous pleasure in serving G-d. Furthermore, all worldly matters are no longer obstacles to him because “yes” and “no” are absolutely equal. The delight in, and appetite for, material things is gone. (HaYom Yom, 17 Tishrei) By overcoming life’s tests, we graduate from galus (exile) and achieve personal redemption. Everything in life becomes an opportunity for growth. There are no longer any obstacles in life, only challenges to spur us on. HaYom Yom, 17 Tishrei
