Episode description

The Philadelphia Eagles held their annual offseason minicamp this month. Led by third-year quarterback Jalen Hurts, the Eagles are expected to contend in the NFC East. Hurts reportedly performed well in offseason workouts and appears to have taken strides in his game.

Hurts will benefit from the addition of wide receiver AJ Brown. The former Tennessee Titans receiver compliments the skill set of 2021 first-round pick Devonta Smith, who is an outstanding athlete with top level speed and body control. Brown is a physical, big-bodied target who has the versatility to line up in the slot or outside.

The Eagles invested heavily in their defense this offseason by signing veterans Hasson Reddick and James Bradberry while also drafting Georgia defenders Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean. Reddick and Davis join an already explosive defensive line while Braberry and Dean solidify the secondary and linebacker core.

The 90-man roster is filled with underrated prospects who could compete for a roster spot or practice squid role. Track runner Devon Allen continues to gain buzz as an exciting prospect to watch this summer. Allen recorded the third-fastest 110-meter hurdles win ever at the USATF NY Grand Prix. Allen hasn’t played football since 2016 during his time at Oregon.
