Episode description

The main goal of journalism is to give people the accurate information they need to live in a free society.
In 1997 the Carnegie-Knight Task Force, then administered by the Project for Excellence in Journalism, conducted a study to identify the principles that underlie journalism. They took four years of research and a national survey of journalists and others. The group released a Statement that identified nine principles of journalism.
