Out Your Dead Part two? And then what did you do after that? Then? I had sex from their quarks? Did you come to others because you have done that before? The bad sex assory? No, I haven't. Actually that's just the first time. Oh yeah, I've lost my virgin name into a quarks. Part one. We need to talk about Kevin.

We've all had an unexpected knock at the door. It can be frustrating when you're trying to relax and not expecting company, whether it be door to door salesmen who ignored them no soliciting science, or dress shirt clad young men trying to save your soul. If you get your lazy ass off the recliner, peer through the people and see a stranger. The immediate feeling is anger.

It's the simplest of violations. Someone approaching your sanctuary uninvited. Timothy Johnson and Lawanda Houston received an unwelcome guest the morning of March twenty seventh, twenty fourteen. This wasn't a door to door meat salesman or girl scouts slinging cookies the only welcome intrusion, but it was a skinny, disheveled looking nerdish type young man, eighteen year old Kevin Davis. When the Wanda opened the door, Kevin meekly asked her if she could dial nine to one one for him because

he had just murdered someone. Emergency. Oh, yes, someone does knocked on my door. He's here at my door right now, and he wanted me to call nine one more. He showed he just murdered someone. Okay, and he's there right now, yes, screw And he said he murdered someone, yes, saying is there any way that maybe I can speak to him? Would you like have bought to hello? What's going on to Oh? As I said, I've murdered someone? Actually, but who did Kevin

murder he didn't look like he was capable of killing anyone. To Timothy and Lawanda, the scrinny little dor didn't appear to be dangerous. Was this a prank? After police descended on their home in Robstown and took the boy into custody, the residents would soon find out that a monster had come knocking at their door. Back in Corpus Christi, Texas, about twenty miles away, Kevin Davis had killed his own mother, fifty year old hospice nurse Kimberly Hill.

It was the day before her birthday, and the boy had done much more than murder his mom. He had defiled her corpse. When Davis was taken into custody, he was immediately put into a room to be interviewed by detectives Torres and Garcia, and his account of his crimes was shocking enough to sour the stomachs of even the most seasoned officers, saying earlier, if you've talked some people, you want to get some stuff off your chest, and we're here to listen to you. What happened, knows what you know?

What happens? Well? Have you has anybody gone to the house yet? Do you really know what we have, but we want to hear it from you, or we have an idea, use the old one with the post. Start at the beginning, man, what costublish? Well, very beginning. I asked my mother for permission to die, or rather kind of commit suicide, the sort of beating around the bush sort of thing, because well, well that doesn't really matter. Why I wanted to kill myself. I'm

bored with life. I don't like life. I don't like people, I don't like living it. Basically, there's really nothing anything depressing about it. Just this what it is. In addition to being suicidal prior to the murder, Kevin and harbor dark fantasies about killing and raping his own mother and sister. He confess these sick impulses in a note that he left at the scene Life Resignation Notice three slash twenty six slash twenty fifteen six fifty one pm parentheses

finished. I had a change of heart. I said it was going to do it, and so now I need to stick to my word. I am a man, after all, I'll be it a hilarious one. Too much damn work, so many obligations, seriously, fuck people, but most of all fuck me. By the way, I've always fantasized about murdering and fucking YouTube. It's kind of funny how you never really know someone, not even your own son or brother. Sorry for the bathroom mess, mother,

Good luck recovering from the shock YouTube. Sincerely or not, Kevin Jazzreel Davis. PS. I killed that stupid gray cat because I was bored one day. Sorry, I wrote the note, Hi, bed, Why did you write the note? I own six six stere yesterday? Yes, Christian, okay, afternoon the one afternoon and then what happened? And then you get upset with kind Well no, actually I molded over and then on a whim. Actually I kind of it over rode a plan to kill both my mother

and my sister. Franklin has always been a thing of mine. It's a bit of a pervert. Is like a fantasy thing, and it is actually how long have you had it's around my preachings? Actually? Yeah, do you ever seek any kind of medical attention psychological feel that you can cope with that? Yeah? Nope. I never really seeked out. Actually, I just accepted it as a part of me. I wasn't really ashamed of it,

just was what it was. Did you ever tell anybody else what your plans were that you know, was one to your mom or his sister? No, But over the years there were hints. As a younger boy, I was a lot dumber, a lot more angsty, you know, I said things, but I guess they basically brushed it off. I guess the hints were everywhere, but they're my family, and family looks past that kind

of stuff where they try to not look at it. I guess Kevin had intended on also killing his sister, but he couldn't control himself during an argument with his mother about his impending suicide, and he snapped. So that didn't. The best laid plans never work out, apparently, or at least the one scribble on a piece of paper because she had decided she was sick of the stuff. She was going to go send me to lose my sister again, and so I kind of left off and the feary and just did it

right there and there he did one well. I tried to strangle her with the cord ripped cord from a video game console controller. That didn't work. What was yours? She was sitting on the couch where I am TV. That didn't work out too well. She started screaming, and so I went to her room, opened a drawer at the very bottom to the right, I pulled out a hammer. I went back in the living room and well, you kind of get the gist from there. She was out pretty quickly,

kind of tried to play dead at first. Then I finished it. So you hear her with a hammer once she was sitting in the sofa in the living room. No, first I tried to strangle her and that didn't work for the grabs cord. So I raced back into her room, grabbed a hammer, came back out, and then did it. The casual nature in which Kevin talks about attempting to strangle and then bludgeoned his mother to death might be the most shocking interrogation audio we've ever heard yet on true crime horror

story. But this story gets much much worse to hold any time to hear where living at least twenty But then she was still alive. I dragged her into the room I probably clearly saw, and then I kind of warmed my hands into her brain. Po kaiaks just cut it and she was still snoring. Okay, because you're still alive. She was still alive, and you went in there and you kind of grabbed those brains, yeah, espishly.

In addition to grabbing the brains and stirring them up with a knife, Kevin would later admit to a psychiatrist that he had also tasted his mother's brain matter, crossing the line from murder and necrophilia into cannibalism. Kimberly Hill had devoted her life into working at a hospice, comforting others in the last days. Now she lay dead at the hands of her own progeny. But Kevin wasn't done with his mom. And then what did you do after that? Then?

I had sex with her? Course, did you come inside her? I did? Actually have you ever done that befo the bad successory? No, I haven't. Actually that was just the first time. Oh yeah, I've lost my virginity to a corpse. The corpse Kevin describes losing his virginity too, wasn't actually his mother. It was the great cat that he referenced in this letter. You mentioned that you lost your virginity to a corpse.

Can you tell a little bit about that? What happened? Well, just last night my mother, Yeah, okay, not somebody else you talked about your mom? Yes, okay, so before that you had never had six. Well, I guess since I'm being quiet about it, I might as well tell you now. I. Yeah, it's on the note too, the PS part. We used to have a gray cat named Claire. Yeah, bcl is a thing of mine too, you know. And so I I strangled it, I drowned it and then I cut it open and do

you know the rest? And I get the rest? You had sick for the cat with the cat? Yeah, dripped it open, stuck it in there. Yeah. You ever hit shake for the life person? No? Yeah, so that's your thing that having sick with the life person. That doesn't turn you on is the dead thing, dead persons, that animals, That's what turns you on. I don't necessarily mind. I don't have standards or morals and bodies of body and in the end, a piece of meat. I guess it's hard to say, but m hmm, but no,

I don't necessarily mind. In the words of Norman Bates, a boy's best friend is his mother. The two often argued Kimberly was Kevin's biggest supporter. He was her son after all, little did she know that Kevin had begin to see her in a different way. Should your natural mother logical mothers? Actually she is my natural mother. I take after my father. Okay, what's kind of thrill? Is appus by? I'd always loved my mother, I guess in the wrong sort of way, but I kind of love.

I guess, maybe some rage, maybe just a little in Frodian stuff. I kind of get where you're come from. Sure. Yeah. Something we don't get into much is how messy. The actual act of necrophilia is your muscles loosen immediately after death, releasing any strain on your bow and bladder. As a result, most people both urinate and defecate moments after they die. There's also a massive amount of blood and gore in most of these cases.

Regardless, Kevin dug right in afterwards he would need a bath. Okay, did you change in the bathroom? Did you? I did? I even I took a bath before then My penis really well that's a little personal, but yeah, I needed to clean it up and so and then then I changed. Yeah. Kevin admitted that he also intended on killing his sister Desiree, but he had simply had enough, how about your sister? What's your sister? Said? Uh, Desiree Hill, is he okay? She is?

Okay? Yeah? Where did you live? At? An apartment? Actually very near here, that big kind of hispanic thing, I mean like Spanish looking building. It's an old apartment complete. Was it a fantasy of yours to kill her as well? And you write down on your note? Oh? I did, actually, but I decided against it because while I had my fill of killing, I didn't seem a little much, little too

excessive. Yeah. Desiree was also brought into the station to speak with detectives, and she broke down upon hearing the news that her mother was dead at the hands of her weird little brother and that she was also on this list. Good mother she had no one was talking to I'm sorry, I had very story. You're working a fat right now? Who's got both of the boos? Yell ye? What your last seven sorty months? Let me just ill no, like he's a police officer in New Jersey. Also, okay,

talk to me last night. But what time she told me. I when Kenny got in a fight and he was just very disrespectful. I'm just saying real hurtle things she call me, she said, she called me when she felt stronger. Okay, who got in a fight with Kevin? Kevin was just being disrespectful or something and uh, in the he was something as simple as like, let this commercial came on for I don't know, like

the harmony or some day inside or something. And he and he just out of a blue said, yeah, Mom, you gave up on love and uh and the she said, no, Kevin, I didn't. I didn't give up on love. But even if I wanted to find love and and I couldn't and have anybody over because you're here, you know, I mean, that's my mom. Really, she loves this kid, you know. She was just it's not like they had a horrible like relationship. He just m he just he really he really, uh you can't think right now.

He really has those issues. He was kind of born just different, like he had severe ADHD. He really doesn't have any friends. His dad is no good. You know. He handled it with me for a little bit, and she wanted him back, you know, the one last chance, like we can make this right, to start going to school and stuff. And she just bought him one hundred dollars jacket that she knew me just throwing the floor just because she thought he'd like it. You know, she cared

about him. She didn't just she my mom's not cruel. No. He would pop off up the mouth and tell her crazy stuff, you know, like you know you fat, stuff like that, and she would just like let it eat her alive, you know, like she's just she's really upset. And I was just trying to calm her down. And she said, yeah, you know, when was the last time we start? Kevin should face right now? The last time I stuck? Heavens when we went out to eat, I heard my brother picked me up and what was that?

Oh no, I have to look that in own or something. But was he acting just that? Was that? Or was he acting different, acting normal? I'm really sure that this is just a spur of the moment, the type of thing he's always had. Yeah, like when he was a little out of nowhere, like he would just draw that was bad people getting shot stuff like that for no region, have you ever threatened to kill you or your mom? Never? We're gonna tell you this. We haven't told

anybody else. But he did make him. He wrote some notes before he did what he did we're worried about you because you're world the lives. It was the worst day of Desiree's life, and beyond finding out her mother was dead, her sick brother was intentionally fucking with her head. We'll kind of let's talk about the notes that you wrote. How many notes did you write? Three? Three? Uh? There was one in the living room. Yeah, No. One was addressed to who desire my sister? Because I

knew she She's a good girl, but rather sensitive. I knew she would lose her head if she kind of saw that. Do you remember what the notes was? Keep your head hurry. She might still be alive, although I highly doubt in parentheses and jumping along those lines. But when you wrote the note you needed, your mom was already dead. Oh yeah, I knew it was messing with desire by writing that that she might still be alive in my sick sense of humor, and I was pretty well off my rocker

by then. Kevin left additional notes beyond the one to Desiree and the life resident Nation noticed there was a third note you left for the police catch me if you can. And then there's a second note in in your month's bedroom. What did that one say, do you remember chase me? Was I addressed to the police or to who I was? Just? I was in a very playful mood at the time, Okay, I just I just wanted to run. I just wanted to see how far I could get, don't

you. Kevin had concocted his disturbing plans in his head for a long time. It eventually translated them to paper. But sometimes the best laid plans go to waste. He couldn't control his impulse to kill, and now when he had made his getaway, he didn't get far before he decided just to give up. Your plan was to leave town, according to one of the notes that you were, Oh yeah, yeah, I've been gray the Greyhound. But I was gonna try to gather a state or anything. Really, But

I guess something else happened. You ended up at somebody's house. No happening. I told you My playing was foiled because she wanted to She talked to me. She said, my sister's going to come pick me up now, like in a few minutes. Go over with her. And that's when I said it's time to Actever, I see, I just went over there to their house to use their phone, and then they wanted I was using their phone, so I thought I might as well tell them when they asked me

questions, I mean they had questions, I'm using their phone? And where was this that? What did you end up the Ultimately I ended up in the backwoods of the ditch here in town or out of town Robstown in ros. How did you get over there? In Corpus Christie? I biked halfway and then I got to the train tracks and then I ditched the bike in the thick woods, and then from the train tracks, I just walked, okay, and then you came up to the was it deduct the first house

that you saw? Or how did you? Oh? How did you go to this house for to use the phone? Initially my plan was just to run, run and run as far as I can, But then I ended up crying my eyes out in like the thick woods, like oh what did I do? And I realized, Oh, you don't know what you lost till you've already lost it, And so I just I knew that my life isn't going to go anywhere, not anymore, so I just kind of gave it up midway. But what brings you here? Other than your life?

Is you just give up on life now? Is just you need to tell somebody what half my fish it? I g Yeah, you're inside, It's just you're you want to do one thing, but your inside, she tells you more like your heart right talking out your heart. You feel sorry you did just your mom in a way. Yes, but I when it takes back when I did, it's strange. Really I did love her in a way. Does you mean to you? Oh no, Now she's been the best matter. She is nothing that she did, absolutely nothing. Now,

if I was to ask you what does she do to deserve this? What would you? Men? Absolutely nothing. I'm just I'm a terrible I'm a disgusting person. I couldn't have said it better. A cruel, disgusting person with no remorse for the disturbing acts he committed to his own mother. Please have the who, the what, the when and the where. The standard questions had been answered, but they wanted to delve a little deeper into the psyche of this human garbage that said before them, how did you come up

with the idea to kill her and have sex? Society? Had I come up with that? Yeah, it's been a development, but you haven't gotten ideas from games or videos or unit into that. Some of those dark games something inspired me, but they did not necessarily plant the seed. Get me. Didn't plant the seed, but they did egg me on rather, I

guess for just a book shoven up. Not necessarily I watched them. I got Actually, I recently got into watching some some form movies, creepy stuff, not necessarily mainstream war, the kind of stuff that you keep away from them. Oh okay, ah, Yes, the old movies don't create psychos, they make psychos more creative. You can blame the movies, blame the games, Blame the parents, blame the schools, blame the system, hell, blame me. It doesn't matter. In the end, some people are

just playing evil. The killing of Kimberly Hill didn't go quite as planned, and investigators posed an interesting question, what would be Kevin's perfect murder? Despite how I ended her life, I'm kind of more fascinated by the more artistic ways of murder and meticulous manner, the way they cut them open and just like them pieces, I mean, such care, such love, and but anyway, give me your friends, she had seen in the Little Always your

friends killing would be your age killing. This is a little peculiar among the camps. Okay, I'm not surprised to what I'm winn here, But you kill me maybe dressing up in the nice suit, sneaking into her house, disabling her boyfriend. No, i'd bring a pretty dress with me to dresser

up. Then. I was always into strangling. But after that last blunder, I guess maybe something big and sharp would be more along, more along my thing, and I could I don't know, probably decapitator, as I prefer my women day dresser up. I'd stitcher up, kind of trying to work the head back on perhaps, and then I'd go to town and it would be a not to remember, and then I kind of just burn everything and run for the hills. Despite facing potential punishment for his crimes, Kevin

Dwits showed no remorse and didn't try to plead insanity. In fact, he assured detectives that he wasn't crazy and that given the chance, he would kill again. At this point, what did your considering show? Your conshiger show, I'm going to use a dirty word, okay, but I don't. I don't need to insult you, Okay, do you consider you never need to disturbed. Do you consider you're so crazy? Do you what? Do you consider you showed the heels? Or do you think you're okay? You

just got some bestsels. I'm not mentally disturbed. I mean I'm saying and I know exactly what I did. I know that it's wrong in the tradition, in the traditional sense of wrong. It was just a fantasy had if you had to carry it out, carry it out about you Now, I feel vaguely but kind of like I'm done. So do you still feel like

like, well, you're done with your mom? Do you still feel like you want to keep on killing, to keep on you with other fantasies, or well, how do you feel I came here to pay for my crime, so I guess I should continue with the truth. The truth I would kill again. I think you want to kill those? Oh now, rabit? Men aren't my thing? Actually? Women? Yeah, okay, if you have a girlfriend, I don't. I've never had a girl. Kevin's never had a girlfriend. Shocking. When post a question what should happen to

him now, Kevin give an interesting response. How about the idea I've heard of your shield? Do you have the same idea. Now, do you have the same idea that you want to hear your shill comit tru said no, it so for me, I was gonna say the using whatever happens happened. If there's not a happy andy for me, that childer, what do you think should happen to you? What do you think yours should be? Whatever the judge, the people Jerry Deans fit, I can rot, I

can suffer for years, or I can forgive him the death penalty. Whatever they think push from. What do you think you deserve killing your mom? I exact your mom, and I'm just there to rot and suffer. I think it's just what it is. In the end, Kevin Davis was sentenced to life in prison. The death penalty was off of the table because he pled guilty to a murder charge and not capital murder. Apparently you have to murder for financial gain and not in order to fuck your own mother's corpse to

be given the lethal injection. Kevin did have one thing right though. He deserves to rot and to suffer, and I hope he gets a living shit kicked out of him by the other inmates every day for what he did to his mother. Currently, Kevin David is sitting in a cell in the Jester for Facility in Richmond, Texas. Shockingly, he'll be available for parole in twenty twenty four, but with his lack of remorse, he'll most likely spend the rest of his life behind bars. He said it himself. There were

warning signs all along, ignored by those around him. Parents, if you see your kids acting a little strange, investigate and definitely don't turn your back. After all, who wants to end up like poor Kimberly Hill brains bashed as shit and turned into a sperm receptacle for a living monster. And maybe it could have been prevented if someone had sat her down and said these very simple words. We need to talk about, Kevin, I don't necessarily mind.

I don't have standards or morals through body for boudience in the end, piece of meat. It's hard to say, but I would it takes back what I did. This's strange. Really I did love her in a way. I'm just I'm a terrible I'm a cruel, disgusting person. Part two. The Worst Hammer about a half an hour from my home. It's a

Danish themed tourist trap known as Salvang, California. People travel from all over the world to this quaint little village to behold it's traditional architecture, ruza shops and sample it's fine pastries and cuisine, or visit hands Christian Anderson Park. On a sunny day, the streets are bustling with pedestrians, and though the main road Mission Drive aka Highway to forty six is only a couple miles long, it can take you ten or fifteen minutes to pass through the village by

car. Due to the sheer volume of tourists. The Danish Days festival in September drusts thousands of people. It's a cute little town. I recommend the abele Skimers if you choose to visit. Back in nineteen ten, about the only thing you could find in the Sana Nez Valley was a beanfield growing behind the old mission. About a year later, a group of Danish farmers decided to move everything they had from the Midwest and come out here to this fertile

valley. Well time has passed banks to some shoe planning an excellent climate, Solvang has become a very prosperous community and one of the top tourist attractions in California. For a town that has a population of only twenty five hundred, Solbang has done very well for itself. More than a million and a half people visit the Danish community every year. Hidden blow the surface, though, is our story here today, which the local tourist bureau would like to be

buried forever. During the nineteen seventies, the Danish made restaurant on Copenhagen Drive was a go to favor for locals and tourists alike. It was operated by Nis Christensen, who lived sitting at the counter and greeting his guests. He'd worked his way up in the restaurant business alongside his wife Anne Marie, eventually

leasing another eatery called Margaret and Paul's before opening up the Danish Maid. Nis was living the American dream and providing a good life for his family, including his son Thor Nis Christiansen, partially named after his father and partially after the hammer wielding god of Thunder. Parents can do everything right, working hard and trying to instill values in their children. Sometimes it doesn't take, and some kids are just born bad. That was the case with Thor. He had

a good upbringing and was. He was a smart kid, but by the time he got to high school he was one big loser. Sending it Over six feet tall and weighing almost three hundred pounds, he was an imposing figure. His drive in determination in life never grew with his physical size, and Thor dropped out of school in his junior year. Rather than applying himself to his studies, Thorpe cared more about smoking weed and drinking than lem me up

to the example that Niss had set for him. The two would butt heads due to the disappointment that the hard working Dane had in his son. Thus, Christiansen set off on his own, leaving the family home and the influence of his folks. He found part time work as a gas station attendant, but never really found his footing. Was it the booze, was it the drugs? Or could it have been the dark fantasies he began to experience after

the onset of puberty. As Thor blossomed into a man, his masturbatory fantasies didn't revolve around the typical fair of faucet posters that many boys his age got over at the time. Thor was obsessed with the concepts of murder and rape in that order. Yes, Thor wanted to dip his hammer in cold blue flesh. In his fantasy, he could do what he wanted and they wouldn't complain. Thor wanted to fuck. He wanted to fuck the dead, But

how would he find his victims? Like mini serial killers in the nineteen seventies, he prayed on those who took advantage of the golden age of hitchhiking. Just thirty seven minutes from Solving is the college town of Ala Vista. The main portion of its residents are students attending the University of California Santa Barbara or UCSB. There are dorms where the students live, but Ila Visa is famous

for its party houses on Del Plia Drive. I spend a little time out here as a young man and played a few keg parties with my band, and it was always packed every night. The streets are teeming with drunk teens and twenty somethings, and it was this where notorious insel Elliott Roger would kill six people via stabbing, gunshot and ramming them with this car in twenty fourteen. But that was in the first instance of murder in the small community.

In two thousand and one, freshman David Attias would kill four via driving through a crowd, as well screaming out of the window that he was the Angel of Death. Years before these tragic events, Ala Visa would be the place where Thorndinis Christensen would pick up his unfortunate travelers. From nineteen seventy six to nineteen seventy nine, several young women who tried to thumb a ride from college

parties would end up missing. In November of seventy six, shortly before the Thanksgiving holiday break, twenty one year old Jacqueline Anne Rooke was sitting on the curb at the intersection of Patterson and Holliser and waiting for a ride. When Christensen pulled up an offered to help her out. Rooke climbed into his audi and the two headed off into the night. She would never be seen alive again. Christensen proceeded towards her destination, but along the way he pulled off

onto a dirt road. No one knows what kind of bullshit excuse he gave the girl for the pit stop, but Jacqueline must have been getting the feeling right about then. Without warning Christensen pulled out his twenty two caliber pistol and shot the koh Ed in the head. He'd finally acted out in his dark fantasy. At least half of it now was for the real treat. Thor stripped the corpse and proceeded to indulge in his necrophiliac desires. Have you ever

heard of the term post nut clarity. It's the feeling men can get seconds after ejaculation, a feeling when you know you just made a major mistake. We aren't talking about an unprotected one night stand or hooking up with a shitty x. Thora just crossed the line from drunken, druggy loser to murderous necrophile. How would he be able to clean up this mess? Many times as

a kid, I went to Refugia State Beach. When you take the turn off, you can enter the state park where you have to pay for a day pass, or proceed down into the under where you can park your car at the risk of a break in and walk in instead. However, if you continue to drive opposite of the beach, you enter the remote area of Refugio Canyon. According to the Gaviota Coast Conservacy website, a picture does not begin to explain the beauty of the Refugio canyon, the sounds of rushing water,

the birds, the moist green surroundings. It's truly a beautiful place to hide a body. After dumping Jacqueline's body somewhere along the canyon, Thor returned to his apartment to get fucked up and relive the events of the night through masturbation. These horrific spank bake images would suffice until the urge to do it again became too much to handle. Nineteen year old waitress Mary Anne Saris went missing on December sixth, nineteen seventy six, after also trying to thumb a

ride from the Elavisa area. She was a spitting image of Jacqueline Rook, average and unremarkable looking, with her long, straight hair, hippie clothing, and medium build. In fact, not to jump ahead too much, but all of Christiansen's victims looked very similar, so much in fact that at the time, in addition to being called the hitchhiker killings, local press dubbed these

the looklike murders. Sarah's had been picked up by Thor after a shift was over, and she suffered the same fate as her dead ringer, Jacqueline Rook. After Mary was shot on the head, her corpse defiled, she was dumped somewhere out in the countryside off of the one fifty four State Route one fifty four, also known as the Chumash Highway and San Marcos Pass, as a stretch of mountain road that connects Santa Barbara and the Santienez Valley from starting

at the edge of the beach town. Its highest altitude rises to around two thousand feet. It's a beautiful yet somewhat dangerous drive due to people taking the two lanes, often at too grade of a speed. Numerous vista points, pulloffs, and small country roads are found along the way. This cliff side mountainous region was a perfect place for Thorniss Christensen to get rid of a body

or body after he had his use out of him. Christensen was able to control himself only slightly longer between the second and third girls than he had after the first. In mid January nineteen seventy seven, twenty one year old UCSB student Patricia Laney disappeared. Her nude body was found in Refugio Canyon, less than two miles from where the police would soon find the body of Jacqueline Rook. She had also been shot in the head, her corpse raped. When

she wasn't studying, she was an aspiring actress and juggler. The UCSB Daily Nexus newspaper from January twenty fourth, nineteen seventy seven, claims Patty was on her way to a dentist appointment. That was just hearsay. The truth is even more disturbingly poetic. Friends and family described her as smart and very active

in her community. In fact, according to her obituary, Laney was out posting flyers about the other missing girls when she was taken a few months later, in May seventy seven, the decomposed remains of Mary Seris were discovered. Now the community knew not only did they have a missing girls problem, but they had a necrophiliac serial killer preying on their coheds. That summer, Thor was drinking with an underage buddy near Kuchuma Lake when they were spotted by park

rangers, who called the sheriff. When deputies approached, Christensen shoved the bottle in his trunk and closed it. Threatened with contributing to the delinquency of a minor charges. Since Thor was of age at the time and his friend wasn't, Christiansen opened the trunk back up so the authorities could confiscate his alcohol. Inside, they also found a twenty two caliber pistol the murder weapon. Unfortunately, they didn't make the connection to the looklike hitchhiker killings, and they let

Christiansen go, even letting him keep the gun. By this time, police had interviewed over one hundred people about the disappearances of the three girls, feeling the heat on them, and that he had narrowly avoided being caught. In late nineteen ninety seven, Thor missed Christiansen moved up to Oregon. He stayed

up there for around two years. I wasn't able to find any information on where an organ that Thor was staying, but it is interesting to know that the Oregonian newspaper wrote a story about cold cases from around the time, called the Ghosts of Highway twenty. From nineteen seventy seven to nineteen seventy nine, the long wooded areas of US Route twenty in Easternland County, Oregon, twelve

people went missing, with their bodies later discovered raped and murdered. I may be grasping at straws here, because John Arthur Ackroyd, a highway mechanic with the Organ Department of Transportation, was to suspect in these cases and was eventually arrested and given five life sentences. He died on December thirtieth, twenty sixteen, at the Oregon State Penitentiary. I believe Akroyd was definitely responsible for some, if not all, of these crimes, but it's pretty crazy that Thornis

Christensen was also an organ at the time. Do you think a necrophile murderer who could barely control his urges for a period of months could just quit cold Turkey for two years, just taking in the beautiful Organ wilderness and keeping his

gun and his dick in his pants. Christiansen returned to California in nineteen seventy nine, not to his home home town of Solving this time, but instead to the bright lights of Hollywood. In April in nineteen seventy nine, Thor was cruising the Sunset Strip, not for hitchhires this time, but for hookers. He picked up twenty two year old Laura Benjamin, a sex worker,

and trot her twice in the head. Before raping the corpse, Christiansen dumped her body in the San Gabriel Mountains in a culvert near Angelus Forest Highway and Big to Hunger Road. When cohd's from a small university town, usually college students from good families go missing. People like Patricia Laney are motivated to do things like hang flyers, and the media takes notice. But in nineteen seventy nine, when a lost soul in the street saw Hollywood vanishes in the night,

no one seemed to bad an eye. Thord found his new modus operandi. Who knows how many street walkers got into his audi, never to be seen again or reported missing, and that same month Thord strike again. Twenty four year old Lydia Preston was turning tricks on Hollywood Boulevard when Christensen pulled up. The two negotiated on price, and she climbed into his vehicle. Thor drove out to the Hollywood Hills and pulled over. He pulled out his twenty

two and shot Lydia in the face. The twenty two caliber pistol is designed for things like hunting, small game and pest control, and while any gun could be deadly to this point. Thor gun lucky with the ease of his kills, but Lydia Preston was a fucking fighter. Not only did she survive the gun shot to the head, she opened the door and immediately fled into the night. Lard asked as he was Thor wasn't able to catch up to Preston, and he fled the scene in a panic. Serendipity when a series

of chance events end up in a happy ending. I'm sure you've heard the term everything happens for a reason. It's a nice sentiment when talking about things like maybe how you met your spouse, but it's hard to stomach for a parent with a sick or dying child. Sometimes the universe just has a strange sense of humor. In July of nineteen seventy nine, three months after being shot in the head by a necrophiliac serial killer, Lydia Preston was back up

to her old tricks. Like I said before, this girl was a survivor. She'd needed to be, not just to get away from Thor in those hills that April night, but to get through a very rough life. Lydia was sitting on a stool at the bottom line bar in Hollywood, nursing a drink and contemplating her next move when in walked a man who had haunted her dreams every night since that spring. Thor nissed Christiansen. She turned away, sure her mind was playing tricks on her, but chance a second look.

It was him, the man who shot her. Instead of freezing or having an outburst, Lydia waited until Thor sat down at the opposite end of the bar and dipped out to the payphone to call police. For the twenty minutes it took for them to get on scene, she couldn't keep her eyes off of her assailant, worried that he would finish his drink and disappear into the night, never to be seen again and free to do this to another working girl down the road. The sound of an empty pine glass being placed on

the hardwood surface. The stool scrapes the floor on the way back in. Oh no, he's getting away. Oh no. The door opens. Incomes a uniformed officer. Just in time. It's him, officer, it's him. This is the man that shot me. He looks confused at first. Does he even recognize her? How many others has he done this too? It's a question I keep asking myself too, Lydia, how many others in

California? What about Oregon? We'll never truly know. Thor Niss Christensen was arrested on July eleventh, nineteen seventy nine, putting Ila Vista's worst fears at rest. The man responsible for the lookalike hitchhiker murders had been caught. Christensen went to trial in December for the murder of Laura Benjamin and the attempted murder of Lydia Preston. He initially pled not guilty by reason of insanity, but

later change it to diminishsh capacity. Despite a psychiatric evaluation that concluded Christensen suffered from intermittent explosive disorder and paranoia. Thor was declared fit to stand trial and was found guilty of first degree murder and assault on May fourteenth, nineteen eighty. He was sentenced to twenty five years to life for the murder of Laura Benjamin and nine years for the attempted murder of Lydia Preston. Christensen was then

set to Santa Barbara for a second trial for the UCSB hitchhiker murders. The trial began on May twenty eighth, nineteen eighty, just two weeks after his previous sentence. Having been declared sane by six out of seven psychiatrists, thorn Niss Christensen pled guilty to all three murder charges and was sent to life in

prison. The seventh psychiatrist, James Westwick, warned the judge not to send thorn to GenPop and that due to the necrophilia coming to light in the trial and the media, that he would have a target on his back for the other prisoners. No leniency was shown, and Christiansen was shipped off to fulsome prison where time wouldn't dragon for long for the necrophile serendipity when a series of

chance events end up in a happy ending. On March thirtieth, nineteen eighty one, Thornish Christensen was out in the workout yard with the rest of the general population. It was plain in the light of day, and he was surrounded by his fellow prisoners and guards alike. Suddenly a prison shank penetrated his heart and he died instantly. No one fessed up or was accused of the stabbing, because in the end no one really cared. No charges were brought

on any of the inmates. Good riddance to bad rubbish. By the end of the nineteen seventies and the early eighties, the dangers of hitchhiking in California were much more well known, thanks to men like Thornish Christiansen, Cameron Hooker, who we covered back in Season one, episode six, and Ted Bundy,

who I'm sure will get to eventually. Despite a study in nineteen seventy four by the California Highway Patrol concluding that the action rual risk is much lower than the public's perception, these shocking stories have led many to stray away from thumbing a ride. After all, who wants to end up dead and posthumously at the receiving end of Thor's hammer. Thanks for joining us for another episode
