FYI: For years it was speculated that Buddy Hackett was asked to join the Three Stooges following Curly Howard's stroke in 1946. It turned out that Hackett simply made up the story. This particular myth was debunked by Jules White and Edward Bernds, who each directed many of the Stooges' short film comedies.
