Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. It’s the day the Church will be invited to enter into the season of preparation for the coming of Easter. For 40 days, we have the opportunity to journey into a deeper awareness of our need for Jesus as we resist the forces, appetites, and habits that tend to move us away from God.
