Welcome back to Trend Talk, I'm Larry Pham, your Holistic Integrative Pharmacist. Today we're going to talk about a condition that's more common than you. Might think low thyroid, or hypothyroidism. This condition affects both men and women, but it often goes in diagnosed because the symptoms can be easily mistaken for other issues. The thyroid is a small gland in your neck, but it plays a huge role in regulating your body's metabolism. It can lead to high levels and even mood.

When it's underactive, everything slows down. This can lead to fatigue, weight gain, hair loss, and even feelings of depression. For women, low thyroid function can also disrupt menstrual cycles and fertility. In men, the symptoms of low thyroid are often more subtle but can include low energy, difficulty concentrating, and even low libido. Men might also experience muscle weakness and joint pain, making it harder to stay active.

The causes of hypothyroidism can range from autoimmune, conditions like Hashimoto's disease to iodine deficiency, or even as a side effect of certain medications, while a doctor's diagnosis is crucial. There are natural ways to support thyroid health.
