In the heat of frustration or anger, words may come out as swearing or cursing; however, the meaning of what is said is missed. Research indicates cursing brings forth true feelings and honesty. We are challenging the research that supports cursing reveals the truth. Fiery words of swearing and cursing may accurately signal that a person is angry or frustrated. Still, it does not reveal hurt, shame, the source of anger, or the generational environment of pain. As a cyber security engineer, Mr. Hendrix understands the modern era of how cyber communication works to stimulate emotion so that people are manipulated to make decisions that will cause financial hardship, emotional hardship, and destruction of identity. No amount of swearing will help solve that type of crisis. Using words that describe, reflect, and communicate precisely what issues are more helpful than digging through a pile of superlatives. This episode includes bonus tips to improve personal awareness and communication in your personal and professional life. We invite you to be open to scanning your communication style and be open to updating your operational communication system if you need to.
