Episode description
In episode 4 Jason talks with his friend of 30+ years Patrick Weekend. He and last episode's guest Martin Sprouse started The Leading Edge fanzine in 1983 and were the first two people Jason met when he moved from Tacoma, Wa. to San Diego that same year.
Along with stories of the 'Slow Death' (San Diego) and LA punk scenes of the early 80's, the two get into Pat's exploration of the West Coast rap scene that was emerging parallel to punk rock in that same era. Beyond music talk they reflect on tender experiences with their first girlfriends, falling in love while maintaining journals as surprisingly sensitive, music obsessed teenage kids.
