Episode description

"It's one thing to optimise them to get them through surgery, it's another (...) to optimise them period!" - Dr Fleisher begins the conversation as the team circle round the tricky issue of patient optimisation in the 'fee for service' world. Many hospitals don't want to reduce surgery, can the bottom line be shifted closer toward the greater good of 'public health'? Dr Fleisher explains that 'per beneficiary per month' (PBPM) is one possible route. The conversation evolves from there.
