here at DefinedTalent. And joining me today is a very special guest and someone I call a soul friend, Danielle Marggraf, a leader in feminine wealth movement. Danielle is followed by women worldwide for her inspiring and no-nonsense teaching style. She mixes her spiritual badassery with money and nervous system coach trainings for women. Hey, Danielle, how are you today? Oh, hey, thanks for having me.
Absolutely. I'm so excited to have you here. And just it's such a special day just to be able to share everything that you gift out to women in the world.
Yeah. Oh my gosh, I'm so excited.
So let's juststart by giving the audience just a little bit about your background and, and how you landed where you are today.
Yeah, so the abbreviated version is that I found myself in 2011, I had two kids under two. So I had babies, I was still breastfeeding my son, actually, he's my youngest. And I was in the middle of a divorce. And so I had this very defining moment, where I had I have a master's degree, but I had no money, I wasn't gonna go back to work, because I wouldn't - I refuse to put my babies in daycare because they couldn't speak yet. And that only matters because I experienced trauma as
a kid myself. And so I was sort of like, in this still hyper-vigilant mode, right? With my babies.
Yeah.
I don't know if that's changed much actually.
(laughs)
So, um, I just had this very clear, sort of, you know, one of those lightning bolt moments where I was like, this ends with me. And this decision of this ends with me was really about the poverty piece around why do I have education and I'm intelligent, and I can't make money or keep money or right? Money was just always seemed to be an issue.
And twofold, I wasn't going to pass down sort of any of this generational trauma, that clearly was making me feel so unworthy and so undeserving that I was in this situation to begin with. So when I did that, when I made that decision, it sort of catapult me on this journey on this path of real deep self discovery, and tapping into the parts of me that were not taught in school, but have everything to do with your money.
Wow.
If that makes sense (laughs).
It doesn't, it's crazy, you know, I feel that there's - money is, you know, it's such a difficult question for people or questions subject for people, right?
Mmm hmm.
And the fact that you tapped in more internally as to where to find these answers, where to find not even answers, where was the solution?
Mmm hmm.
And you didn't go to the educational aspect of it, right? And tapping internally is really where that launched you. And I'm so curious as to, you know, just out of the gate having that - the light or the lightning bolt kind of gets you or strike you - just from that little baby, step forward. Where did you begin from there, like, what was your next step?
So I was I was already a yoga teacher, and I was already at the time. I mean, we're talking like 12 years ago, I was already a Reiki Master, right? So that was sort of gifted to me by someone
Right. who saw that I had these gifts. I was an empath that was very sensitive to energy, that kind of thing. And what I did was I started Googling, like jobs for energy workers. (laughs)
Like what! But I did not I was trying to figure out and really was innovation, right? Like I was trying to be innovative, but I didn't know that word at the time. That was not my vocab, right? But, um, I really was just trying to figure out how could I make a living to make money, but not have to work that much? Because the truth is, is that I didn't have a lot of bandwidth.
Right.
I mean, I'm a single mom with two babies that I'm refusing to put in daycare, what do you do?
Right? (laughs)
Okay, well, so, um, what happened was is there was this pop up, there was this pop up for coaching that came up at the time. And I thought, Oh, God, this sounds just like, what I need - what I should be doing. And I remember, I remember at the time, it was $4,000, to do this coaching it was like a year long coaching certification. And I sold my engagement ring and wedding band. And I got for that one for that, for that set, I got exactly $4,000, which, you know, I was ripped off because it was
worth way more than that. But I paid for the coaching. And it was my first of four now coaching certifications. And that's how I began. And we were allowed to start making money and start taking on clients within three months of starting the program. So within 90 days, I made it my mission to start getting clients. And I did, and that was really the start of it.
Wow. I've got goosebumps already here, you know, taking something that was negatively impacting you, and really transitioning it and utilizing that to make such a huge positive impact.
And still keeps going. It's paying off.
Yeah. Wow. Just going back to money. You know, a lot of people think it's the root of all evil. How do you even begin to approach this topic and change the mindset around money?
Yeah, so I love that question. So money is, its energy, right? There's an energy and frequency of money. And money really is if we just look at money itself, it's paper, and it's metal. That's all money is, is paper and metal, what we DO with the money, and what we project onto it is all ours.
It's all coming from the internal.
It's coming from us. So it and so I think of myself sort of as a midwife between spirit, the spirit world in the material world, because I take really what this whole the spiritual, energetic, invisible idea of, you know, this being an energetic tool, a spiritual tool, money, and something that we obviously need in order to support us in the material
world. But the truth is, is that money is not to be feared -iIt's okay to love money, because money is the catalyst in circulation, to get us everything that we desire and require to get to our next level of really showing up fully expressed in our purpose. So without money, and here's the thing, like people say, Well, how much is enough? Or how much
is, right? It's really this. The amount of money that will get you to stop worrying about money and thinking about money and get you back into life and focusing on what's important is the amount of money you require.
Yeah. Wow. And having that actualization, and being able to put it into those terms is huge. Because I feel, you know, a lot of people, I want to be rich. Well, what does that mean? Or I need this much money just to pay my bills. Well, what about wanting this much more so that you are free from stressing about paying those bills every month? Right?
Yeah.
It kind of it opens up so many more questions, and so much more of a playing field to be more comfortable around the word "money."
Yeah, I call it grow into overflow. That's how I say it.
I like that. I like that a lot.
And the truth is that we can grow into overflow. But it's an inside job. It doesn't mean another degree.
Yeah.
It doesn't mean, right? It's not that I will tell you I was just wanted to my a client of mine said this to me the other day, she sent me a text and she said, You teach embodied millions, not million, the number that whatever it is for you, for the person who you're working with whatever it is for them, that's what that's what it's about. Right? So
here's the thing. I know women who make multi six figures, even millions who don't feel worthy, don't feel enough, stress about the money going away or working themselves to be burnout are not happy or fulfilled, are not prosperous in their life. They're not living a quality life. So the truth is, is that money the dollar amount does not equate to being prosperous and wealthy. And sometimes they think we put that all together.
We do, we totally do. And I like separating that just the idea of separating that makes me as an individual feel so much more alive and wealthy within, Right. Yes. So I'm super interested in the for money body archetypes. Can you explain a little bit about these to the audience?
Yeah, sure. So I've been in this industry, like I said, about 12 years now. And I went back to school about five years ago for to become a somatic therapist. And one of the things and the reasons why I did that is because I had done a lot of healing work on my own, right? I was saying - mentioned about the trauma. And so I did everything from shamanic journeys to, you know, energy work to, you know, all the
things, just all the things. And what I found was, is that I was still in the sort of shameful spirals, and I would hit rock bottom, and I really felt like I couldn't manifest, right? Have you ever seen a secret? I'm sure, right.
Oh, my gosh, yes!
Yea, right. And so it's like, I was trying to think myself into these results. I kept thinking, when is this right? When will I be healed? And so I can actually have this life that I want. And what I discovered was that it was the thing that really was the theme is that I had never done and no one had ever talked to me about nervous system regulation, as being part of the, well it is the command center of the body.
Right.
And if that is not, typically most people are walking around dysregulated. And their walk, which is
Yup. survival, right? They're walking around survival, but because
Like hustlers, you might be someone that's like baseline, people think this is it. This is how we're supposed to feel this is how we're supposed to live. And it's not, right? So what happened was, is, after many, many years of research, and education, and going back to school and studying, and sort of taking, you know, inventory of my clients and sort of following their path, I came up with four different archetypes that are
body-money related. And these four archetypes essentially, will describe not only your, who you are with money, but what's happening in your body and your nervous system in regards to money. So you can be someone who is always chasing money, who it's you're always chasing a moving money target. You know, you get there, but it's not who avoids money, you're like, I'm a healer, and I am enough, and you keep going for more, and it's not enough, and you keep going for more, right?
Really hardcore Type A right? spiritual. And I give, and I don't I don't, money is not a thing for me. And you might be someone who's avoiding, but you're in poverty, and you think you're above money, because you have this relationship with money, that money is material. And it's bad in some way. Right?
Right (laughs).
So So there's these four different types, those are just two. But the truth is, is that we all typically fit into one or two of these types. And when you start to understand your behavior, that's when we can start to change it. And so, I actually have a quiz. It's not yet automated, but if anyone was interested, I could send it to them. Where you answer these questions, and you sort of get your - what your archetype is, yeah.
I'm definitely interested in it. And definitely send it so we can post it once
(laughs loudly) we get this podcast live because I think it's really important. You know, there are different - when I speak to women, different women out there, you're right, it's the different ways that they're chasing it, they're avoiding it, they don't want to be materialistic. So they, you know, they ignore it, or they
hide from it. And I feel that with that, it really, once you can, I mean, I'm excited I want to see what the what I want to learn what I am I kind of feel like I know what I am, but bringing the nervous system into it as well. And then you had said, you know, most people are, you know, just showing up as they think that this is it. Do you think especially you know, through and I even hate to bring up COVID, but the pandemic and people coming out of that and really trying to find that
healthy mentality again. Do you feel that people kind of lessen themselves now, or are even more fear driven, rather than, you know, not wanting to make any changes? So I think what we've seen more of is what we're calling COVID Fatigue.
Yeah.
It's just exhaustion, people are exhausted, they're tired. The old way doesn't work. It's sort of like pre-COVID is now an antiquated way of living and moving in the world. Right? I think people sort of have this idea of maybe more of a distilled version of what's important to them.
Yeah.
I think more and more people that I know, anyway, have left sort of corporate America and moved into more alternative medicine or coaching or right? Because it is more fulfilling. Yeah. And they want to take control and be their own sort of boss, Right?
Yeah.
And so I just think that I think in some ways, we're tired.
Yeah.
You know, there's more exhaustion. And I think we're, we're sort of not willing anymore to sacrifice and settle. And we don't want the thing that we have to do to feel like it's going to kill us.
Yeah.
Right? Like, we don't want to kill ourselves to make the money. Right? We, I think we really are sort of awakened to this idea that there is another way, and people are more willing to explore this other way, which is sort of the way that I teach it.
So kind of leading into the way you teach, I feel as well, there's two differences between businesses, there's the brain fed, and then there's the body led businesses. Talk about - let's explain a little bit of what those are. And then, you know, is there any, as a stacked question here for you? Is there any way? Is it are individuals - do they have to be just one or the other? Or is there a combination for individuals?
So I always say I teach body led, not brain fed business.
Yeah.
Right? So brain fed business, to me is consumption. It's doing what you're supposed to do. It's doing what you should do? It's a lot of probably strategy. It's very heavy. It's very - it's just sort of like, where we're working from the neck up,
Like buy the bulk almost? Like external?
Yeah, well you're I mean, listen, I even know people who call themselves money mindset coaches, but all they do is hire business strategists.
Right, right.
And they're not doing it. Right? It's like,
It's Okay! (laughs loudly) because they don't operate in strategy, they operate in a different way. But we are conditioned to believe that strategy is the way right? And I'm not saying it's sometimes
Where do I fit in? Where do I fit in? Where not the way or we shouldn't do strategy at all. But what I'm saying is the women that I work with, are BODY LED business owners. So essentially, meaning that they come into their business in where they're tapping into understanding the language of their body, understanding where they might be trying to push too far out of their capacity, really being aware of what they're willing to do and what they want to do.
Understanding their desire versus capacity in their body, understanding what it feels like to receive and rest as a way to actually let me rephrase that as a way of resting to receive because a lot of my women have what I call a receiving wound, because we have been taught to give give, give, give over give over give over give, give some more and more like where do I fuckin - oh can I say fuck, sorry (laughs loudly). do I fit in?
Right.
And so, body lead business really is born of the somatic wealth way that I teach women to make their money. And it's NOT with more strategy, and it's NOT with more brain power, it's really going inside. And the truth is, is that when we take aligned and inspired action versus constant action that we think we should take, we get the results.
I feel like so many women can be in alignment within that because they're tired of like you had said the give, give, give people taking and when I when we can look at even nourishing ourselves from the inside, and giving into ourselves, that, from what I'm gathering, is by really honing in on the core of us as a human right? That is where the magic can really start to grow. Because you're really settled into who you are as a person.
And once you are comfortable with the, who you are, and you had said something about resting, and, you know, being able to prioritize yourself first and what's important to you, that then leads into more of a business success, because you're you, you have the capacity now to want to give for more of a purpose, is that kind of am I in alignment with that there?
Yeah, it's like, listen, we all have a purpose, and we all have a desire to express that purpose, right?
Right.
And whatever way we need we we decide to do that, and whatever our work is, and the truth is, is that well, we're, you know, going towards that Mount Everest school to get to the peak, right?
Right.
We're, there's a ton of different ways to get to that peak, you can do it all business strategy, right? But the thing is, for most women, that is not sustainable, because you get to the peak, and it's burnout, and it's anxiety, and it's autoimmune disease, and it's all sorts of imbalance, right?
Yup.
And the way body lead work, is that somatic sort of piece is that it is sustainable, because you are checking in all along the way towards that peak, right?
Yeah.
And so there's a completely different way of showing up and earning money where you're still serving in your purpose.
Right, right, yup.
You called it essence, but with yourself, being self expressed in your work, feeling fulfilled, making an impact, leaving a legacy, right? That's the way women are meant to work and be women to be in business, right? We're not meant to do business like men, we're not men, you know.
That just opens up so much, and feel so real too, I mean, we work with so many, you know, in the recruiting industry, and in business today, we're working with so many different types of men and women. And I think women are always trying to chase that. But they're expected to chase that, right?
Boom!
They're expected to do everything. And I feel that women need to understand that we are different. And we should be celebrating that difference. Because at the end, we're going to be more successful externally AND internally, to then stand taller, get to that peak and still be able to say, I got to that peak, and I'm ready to go to the next peak. And I'm ready to go to the next peak.
Well, yeah, because it's about falling in love with your process and your processes your life.
Yes!
That's how I define true prosperity. True prosperity is a life well lived. True prosperity is loving, and living in every moment. And the truth is, is I'm not I don't want to bust to get there. And then be like, now what?
Yup.
Because this sucks, right?
Right. Or I'm exhausted, and I don't even want to be her anymore.
Or I'm afraid if I rest, right, I can't take a rest. Because if I rest, the money will go away, the clients will go away.
Yeah.
You've committed to this unsustainable way of moving in the world, because you are in survival.
Yes!
So you could be a millionaire multimillionaire, whatever, multi six figure and still be in survival, right?
Yeah.
Because you are in that sort of state. So that's where it's like, yeah, no, I, I teach it much different.
I absolutely love it. So just to give our audience a little bit of a taste. What are your top five ways to build a body based business? Yeaaaahhh. (laughs)
Okay. So, number one, learn the language of your body. Okay, we all have - individuals, so it's not a one size fits all. We all have a language and we it's all specific to us. So one, learn the language of your body. Two - just run through them, Tara?
Yeah, yeah. If you want to run through and give a little bit of what that might mean, just to share. That would be really awesome.
Okay, so learning the language of your body, your body speaks in sensation. and vision, memory color, temperature. And the truth is, is that most of us don't know the language of our body. And we might know it when it hurts. We might know it when it's an extreme contrast to what we think is normal. But typically there's and it's more than just gut instinct, right? So a lot of people just think gut instinct,
Yeah. or they think nervous anxiety. It's way more than that. So learn the language of your body. Number two, check your beliefs around being able to make epic money while doing what you love. A lot of people don't believe that you can be doing what you love and make epic money, women in particular, right? It's sort of like people won't pay for what you have to offer UNtrue. So check your beliefs around that. Three, heal the core wound
of unworthiness. Typically what I have found, so most people have the most common core wounds for most are either unloved, you feel unlovable, we feel unworthy, right? When it comes to money, typically, it's a worthiness thing that you're probably working through, not enough, not enough, and I don't feel enough, I'm not enough, I should be something different, I should show up differently. That's typically about not claiming your worth and your
value. Okay. Next, number four, claim your authority and leadership around your work and your sacred gifts. We all have a purpose to share, we all have a sacred contract to fulfill while we're here on the earth. And so when you are sort of like wishy washy, not feeling confident, afraid to be visible, right? You are not claiming your authority and leadership around your work OR your gifts, which are highly desirable, and we can monetize them. Okay. Yeah.
Five, allow for rest, rest is where you receive. I think I mentioned earlier that most women that I know that I work with, have a receiving wound, that receiving wound is typically because there has been some sort of trauma, that trauma shuts us down. It's almost like a thin veil between us in the world.
Yeah.
Like I can be I'll let you in, but I'm not gonna let you in that far - there sort of like this. Just this sort of invisable barrior.
Like a guard almost.
Yeah, it's hard. And we wear it I call it a social mask.
Yeah (laughs).
We put on our social mask, so we can go out and you know, put our armor on to face the world. And then when we are in safe places, we let that go and become really come back into our sacred selves, right? The essence, right? Of who we are.
Yup.
The thing is, is that rest allows us to practice what it feels like to receive. And it also allows us to let in downloads, let in inspiration, ideas, innovation, people that we know were meant to help. And all of a sudden, they come in our heads, and we call them and we make a deal. Like rest is so underrated. So those are my five.
Wow, I love all of these five. And I feel like there's so much for our audience, women out there to really grasp and learn in order for them to take that next step to be able to receive. I'm so happy that you joined us today. So now Danielle, talk to us a little bit. What are the main services that you provide as a coach? And is there anything that you'd like to share? I know there might be something that's getting launched pretty soon. So you want to share that?
Yeah. So my podcast Embodied Millions will be launching, I think where we said the February 7. So what's that four days from now.
Next week, woo!
I'm super stoked about that. Um, and yeah, and I work with women, I have three sort of main offerings. VIP Days are a super pop of fun and excitement and wealth activation. And we get your purpose, your program, your pricing all on point. And that really creates fast results. I have a private experience. It's an embodiment experience, where we merge the somatic work with the wealth work and build a body led business. And then I have a group program. We reopened again in July. I'm taking a cohort
through now. And that's called Wealthy Goddess Unleashed. So those are the three ways you can work with me. And I do have a free circle that I do every month. It's called Sacred Wealth, Modern Sisterhood. So maybe I could shoot you the link and either the podcast or the circle.
Yes! Perfect. Well, we will make sure to get this podcast up and launched. Want to say we're going to be launching it the week of the 13th. So it'll be, you know, a week just after you launch your podcast. But at least we'll be able to keep those, hopefully
Yes, perfect! get those followers over to you. Send us links, send us Thank you. everything they possibly can because I want to make sure our audience knows how to find you knows how to, you know, find ways to work with you, because I feel that everything that you do out there is it just brings such a positive light. And, you know, I know that there's a lot of women out there that could definitely use some of your specialties in your energy.
Thank you so very much for joining us today.
Thanks for having me.
We are defined talent at define logic service coming to you at top five. Make it a great day.
