How are you doing out there? It's me Tiger. I am Duck Wing Duck. It's me Bunkers deep babcat. All right, ya didn't bree your favorite firefly? You desire hold old no Go. My name is Jim Cummings and welcome to tuned In. Welcome to the very first episode of Tuned In with Jim Cummings for twenty twenty four. I am Brendan Dandel of the four figure Discount Network, of course, joined by the man himself, producer Chris. How are you man? Hello, I'm great. How are you guys

doing? We're doing great? Tired, tired? I'm assuming, No, I'm great. So basically, what's going on here isn't no. We've been away for a while because you know, Jim's been on holiday as he deservedly so, over in South Africa. So Jim's on South African time, I'm on Australian time and Chris is on LA time. So what time is it right now for you? Chris? Where you are? It is one thirty in the morning. Wow, It's usually me having to get up at one

third in the morning, so I'm actually quite happy. Yeah, it's eleven in the morning. Where Jim is, and it's a at night here, but we're going to get this done. I'm very very excited, Jim. How you being mate? Superb? It's another day in paradise, and I do mean paradise in fact. Do I dare do this? Can I try and do this again? Should I show everybody where I am? Can I just do that? Let's do it real quick. It won't take long. Jim is turning his laptop around. I mean, does that look I care

great for that for the audio. But let's describe what we're seeing here, Chris. We're seeing crystal blue waters. We're seeing Margaret somebathy on the beach. Yes, ye're saying saying, yeah, did you see that shark come up and take it out? Well right on the beach. Huh the shark just took out a family of four. I hope you got that. Oh well yeah, good, good, Good for the raid, Yeah, good for the refige. Anyway, Yeah, there are a lot of sharks there, hunt. I made that up, So it's okay. I don't think

there's as many dangerous animals in South Africa as who are struck. Maybe in the Safari that might be, but I feel like Australia is known as like the world's deadliest place when it comes to the animals, and they're not necessarily big animals like lions and rhinos and hippos that just you know, little red back spiders there might be the size of a tent, a little nickel, but they will kill you if they bought you, right. And don't you

have shrews that eat lions down there? I'm pretty sure I remember something probably yeah, yeah, well I did see a Tasmanian devil last time he did.

Yeah, And they are angry, they are pissed. And you know what is really astonishing to me is the first time I heard a Tasmanian devil, an actual Tasmanian devil, and it went less, and I thought a buddy of mine was messing with me, a sound engineer, and he was putting me in there, and I said, oh, come on, that's who he goes, dude, this is National Geographic And he hit it again here and it sounded just like the Tasmanian Devil cartoon and I went, damn,

you know, and there and he's just walked around all pissed off, and it looked just like Taz, you know, life imitating art, I guess right, or thing are imitating somebody was imitating something? Did he say as well? Or no he did not? No he didn't. Thank you to everyone who was tuning in to the show this week. Thanks everyone who was taking the time to rate and review us on our Apple podcasts and Spotify. You haven't already done, so please check us five stars and leave us

a few kind words. It does help us out a lot. And spreading the word about the show. And you've got any friends that haven't heard about the show, let him know about it to a Jim Cummings and I never forget you girls to support us on Patreon for exclusive content as well. But well, it's been a long time since we've done a show. I feel like it's been at least a month or two. You know, we take the Christmas break as well, so lot's happened. How is the Christmas for

both of you? Will start with you, Jim, how is your Christmas? Oh? Superb? You know, another day in Paradise we went and what did we do? Actually, I took a couple of notes. We kind of went around to had a Christmas brunch at the Victoria and Albert wharf which is still there, and it was wonderful. Went on a safari. It was inspiring, you know, seeing all our all our very woodland creatures and it was It's just fantastic. You know, Africa, you gotta love

it. Everything came from here. So you were in Africa for Christmas. That's pretty exciting, absolutely very traditional Christmas right sitting around at the bottom of the world. It was. It was the not the North Pole, closer to the south. What time did you wake up, Margaret to open your presents? Let's see five o'clock in the afternoon. Did San to bring you anything special this year? Yes, an incredible view. I think I just showed you. That's all we need. Yeah, I'm sure it's well worth

whatever you're paying for it. Yeah, well it's a lot cheaper here, so come on down. But Chris, how is your Christmas? Man? It was good. I was back home in La with my brother. My brother was out here visiting. But I go home like on the twenty third from Japan and I actually have something to show everybody from Japan that the viewers might be interested. Okay, let's get it walking off now he's coming back with something. It better be good. We've talked it up. It's good.

So in Japan they go nuts for Winnie the Pooh, And here I found a Winnie Pooh, Winnie the Pooh and Tiger face mask. It was in a beauty salon and it's like a face mask. I'm showing the camera now for those listening, hold so we can say so, yeah, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger face masks. Oh wow, wow, way boy, both of them. Huh, Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. Winnie the Pooh and Tigger mask care number one and then a bunch of Japanese writing two point

five billion masks have been sold for five years. Wow, Jim, I'm hoping you getting a cut of this money. Yeah, I only get it. So I'm down to my last two hundred million. I don't know if we've I don't know if we've said it on the podcast or not before, but Winn of the Pooh generates more merchandise income than Mickey Mouse. Oh. I think you may have told me that. Yeah, yeah, that's crazy.

I you never would you wouldn't think that. But then when you really, when you do really think about it, you go, you know what I see I talk about and see a lot more of Winnie the Pooh than I do Mickey Mouse these days. You know, it's just Winnie the Pooh is just everywhere. I think Winnie the Pooh is the defining character when it comes to, you know, nurturing and just remembering your childhood and sort off the safe zone and the comfort zone. I think Winnie the Pooh is like

the defining character for that, don't you think. Yeah, I actually do think that, you know, and nothing to do with me, But there is a sort of a famous story in my community here, Wayne Olwine, God Rest the Soul. He was Mickey Mouse for gosh thirty some years and

his wife Rusie Taylor was Minie, you know, in real life. And Wayne used to get a kick out of telling me this story because he was which is something of a Disney tradition that Mickey was also an employee of Disney, like Walt Disney was the first Mickey Mouse, so he was really associated

with Disney. And so therefore Wayne on Wine he also worked at Disney and he was an animator, incredible animator, And he was walking down the hall one day and Michael Eisner, former CEO of Disney, walked up to him, said Wayne, Wayne, I just want you to know that Winnie the Pool far out sells Mickey Mouse, and then walked away and he goes, and I'm just standing there, and I mean, what am I supposed to do? Self flagellate? You know? What do I do? How do I stop? How do I fix that? I? You know? So?

And I said what'd you do? And he goes, I just went back to work. I said, okay, well there you go, so, uh speak to you against Yeah, yeah, yeah, we were still buddies. Yeah but yeah, who speaking of out selling? One more thing from Japan. And this is actually Jim's Christmas gift. I haven't seen Jim since yeah, since Christmas has been in Africa. But you know you like these letterman jackets? Yeah yeah, and I found money the Pooh letterman jacket.

If you can see that on there? Who who on the whole man and then on the back and then you go Winnie the Pooh, Tigger or Piglet all on the back. Honey things says eighty eight, Honey thinks honey, oh man, Thank you ladies and gentlemen. Christopher Judge shooting scoring. As matter of fact, when you get off the when you get off the when you get off the plane in Japan, in Tokyo, all over the

airport, they just have advertisements. And I was trying to find this poster because they if anybody's listening that's in Japan somehow or visiting Japan, there was like these limited edition Winnie the Pooh and Tigger posters that were in Japanese and they were Disney like Disney official. It was advertising the theme park out there, Disneyland Tokyo. And I was trying to find the posters and I couldn't find them anywhere, but they looked so cool. Oh wow, But yeah,

they're they're big fans. That's great fans. Yeah, well I knew that. I knew that about. I can't think of the skater who's years ago was out there in the Olympics, right, and a young man from Japan, and he was a Winnie the Poo fanatic, and every time he'd win or do a really good showing, the whole ice was covered in little three inch Winny the Poo dolls. They would throw them all over. They would just kill the ice with little td Winnie the Poos and it'd slow down.

They'd have to send out the crew to get them all off the ice so people didn't break their neck tripping over Pooh. I slipped on some poo before you, before you became Winnie the Pooh, Jim, what was it a big Was it a big measure? Dice solid? Do you know what was it? Because I know they sort of they reinvented Winnie the Pooh with the New Adventures when you sort of joined up and became the voice. But was we need the Pooh a big brand at that point? I think it

really was was No, No, it wasn't at all. They I'm trying to think. I think it was like a well over a decade since they had because they won the Oscar for animated short because they put together those three, winned the Pooh and Tiger two day for your you know, put those three together two and then they won the Oscar, and then he went away for twenty years. I don't know what. I was glad they did because

it gave me a chance to grow up. I've always said that. But yeah, had they kept on going there, I don't know who knows, but but it certainly wetad the appetite for more Pooh and Country Company Hunter ncred Wood and at that point that Disney and ABC were not the same company. So ABC went to Disney and said, can we put up a new Adventures of Winnie the Pooh? And they go, sure, let's do that, and we all had auditions and there we go. What would be your favorite

Christmas movie to watch? For me? I love Up at Christmas, Carol and probably Home Alone. Two we've pat a number two. What about you guys? Favorite Christmas movie? Well, Pooh has a couple, but that's not fair. You know, it's a wonderful Life. I think is still way way up there. What about you, Chris? Favorite Christmas movie? Mine's actually it's a die hard. Yeah, there you go, that's true. That's a Christmas movie. Yeah. There's always that big debate of is

it a Christmas movie? And it's like, well, if it's at Christmas, then yes, of course it's a Christmas movie. Yeah. The Dreaded Elf is in there too, I thinks. Yeah. But you mentioned before, Jim that you've been in a couple of Christmas specials. Did you always enjoy doing the Christmas specials of the various shows that you were a part of, all the Christmas movies because did they feel different to the normal show because

the Christmas specials is always very wholesome the Christmas specials, aren't they? Well? Yes, and also they're usually done in spring, so you don't feel Christmasy at all. You don't know, it's like forget about it, you know, you know, thinking in Christmas. It just doesn't doesn't seem right in March. Yeah, so what do you what do you do to get into the Christmas zone? Then? Oh, I put put ashes in my stocking, call and my stalking. Then you know that just like the old

days, just like it was when I was a kid. Ah God, I'm sorry, I need a moment. Okay, I'm back. But yeah, yeah, very very sentimental. Can you remember the first really good Christmas present you got as a kid? Like, can you remember the first present that you both were just so excited for that you still remember to this day. For me, it was getting the PlayStation one, you know that the video game console that was That was for me. I couldn't believe it,

you know. But what about you, guys? What was your first big Christmas present? To this day you still remember opening it up? I still have it. What is it? Well, it's a Johnny reb cannon. It's it's that one in the in the office. You look in there, it's that that little cannon on top, that toy cannon. Christopher, that's it. Oh, let me see if let me see if I can find it really quick, go get it. Yeah. So how old were you when you got that? Gosh, I don't know, early grade school,

early grade school, something like that. And it was a it was a Johnny reb cannon and Johnny rebel that that's what that meant, Johnny rebel and uh, let's see Johnny you mall was the rebel. He's the old bone bone and he was Nick Adams was the rebel and uh and that was a TV show and they just put that out and it shot little plastic uh you know, toy plastic cannon balls at you and it still works. So you know, life is good. Yeah, right, what about you, Chris?

Mine was also the PlayStation one one. Yeah, yeah, that and the Nintendo sixty four I think, oh yeah, my two, yeah, my two, like oh man, me and my brother went nuts. Yeah. Have you seen the YouTube video of the Nintendo sixty four kid? I have not. Oh, you will have to watch that once we finished recording it will just bring you so much joy. It's just this kid in like nineteen nety six getting a Nintendo sixty four for Christmas and he just like screams

and he's jumping in the air and it's just that's so great. It was that were you a child actor and that one? Is that what you're saying? Yeah yourself? Okay, but yeah, but the Christmas Special, so you've but you've been in like, you know, just the goof Troop, Christmas Special and Dark and christmaspec. But we also do like Christmas movies as well, So I was thinking maybe next Christmas we should do Even before then, people want to hear it. We would a review of like Mary Pooh.

Yeah, that's one of the ones. I believe you may have even voiced e Or in that one as well. I think someone's you voiced in that one. I don't. I don't want to comment on the post saying you voiced e Or And I thought I never knew that I didn't. I hmmm, well, the innerweb knows everything, but I don't think I don't. I don't think. So it doesn't work because you know, Peter Cullen would have been it. Yeah, Peter Cullen would have would have been you

or at that time. I think, you know, we've had a few at the years as the years went on, you know, like Brad Garrett was there in the Last movie Christmas and uh, but back then it was Pete, Peter Cullen and a KA Optimus Prime Optimists. I mean, when those Transformer movies came around, that just must have been absolute gold mine for Peter. I mean who would have Yeah, the huge success that they became man good for him, you know, right. You know, it was

funny because we were doing one of the iterations of Pooh then. I think it was my friends Tigger and Poop, and they were talking about the industry. Oh they're talking about you know, they're they're going to do a Transformer movie, and we're all going, well, they better use Peter, they better use Frank, they better you know, going down the line, Neil and all the guys, you know, Jess Arnell, you know, they

better use him because you know, it's Hollywood casting. They you know, they're always thinking, well, you know this, this guy's the one that got us to the party. But we're not going to use him. We're gonna get Jack black or some you know, some stupid thing like that.

And when they when Peter came to a session, he goes, well, I'm Optimus Prime, and we're going, yeah, yeah, you know that was my bad, my lame duck, Peter colored and impression by the way, and and we were all it was like, yes, you know, the good guys scored one. And of course, you know, the franchise just lit up. Now they're fighting hedgehogs us. Jess Harnell is one of the characters too as well. Right, oh yeah, yeah, he was Ironheide maybe yeah, I think it's Ironhead. Yeah, yeah, yeah,

I think you're right. And I was a couple of them, but not in the movies, just in the the Goofy series, the TV shows. Yeah. Yeah, it's just lovely though that he sort of as he's described in the past though, that the voice acting community, for the most part, ninety nine percent of the time, they want to support each other. Get the sense that like a lot of actors would be jealous if someone else got the gig and they didn't. But with voice I think it's like,

no, come on, man, well we're rooting for you. You can get this. And everyone was happy for him. It's just so lovely to hear. Yeah, well, especially one like that. I mean, you know, because and I've said this before too, I said, you know, they wouldn't have been making the movie if the TV show wasn't popular.

The TV show sold the movie. It wasn't the other way around. And so if it wasn't for Peter Cullen up there and Neil Ross and Frank Welker and just on and on, you know, Jennifer Darling who Soue Blue, you know, on and on and on, if they weren't doing a good job, they wouldn't have wanted to make a movie about them. So why would you get someone else to try and be them when they already are them listening tenage? But Ninja Turtles? That's right, Yeah, that's right.

Yeah, Oh, no comment there, but yeah, so, yeah, we want a good Christmas. That's good. But now what's funny is I you've I've done some research. You've voiced Santa Claus in various things. Oh yeah, Jim, so you've voiced Santa in Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas one in particular, and I posted it on your social media follow Jim Gincummings Acme or Action comings p. But you voiced him in the Flintstones Fruity People's commercial, right, I remember that. Now, so many people did not realize

that was you. Oh yeah, well, you know, I always I always get a little worried when when somebody asked me to do Santa, because it sounds like a bad Ed McMahon impression from the old Johnny Carson Tonight Show days. You are correction s, you know. So you know, I'm a little shy about doing it, but yeah, it comes out. And for a long time there, maybe like ten years in a row, for a TV commercial or a radio commercial, I ended up being a Santa for

some store or some you know, shoe polish or something. You know, it didn't matter, but I was, you know, for about ten or twelve years there in a row. I was an annual Santa somewhere. Did you ever dress up as Santa for your No? Nope, no, no, no, But I did the Eastern Christs dropping hit that he wants you to dress up with Santa for next Christmas. Yeah no, And actually, you know what all I have to do is let this grow out. I think I'm there. Hand me a pillow, give me give me the right

hat. You know, I'm there. I'll tell you what. You know. We're fresh out of dark gray. We're and we're heading to the whites. Okay, all right, wait, I'm sorry. I have a short little story that I just have to share because I think it's really funny. But my dad, my dad's black, and one year he dressed up as the Easter Bunny. I know it's not Christmas, but he dressed up as the Easter Bunny. And we're all little, Oh God, please tell me

you have pictures. I wish me and all my siblings we started hysterically laughing because we knew there was no way that the Easter Bunny was black. This big black Easter Bunny running through the yard. That's pretty little kids are just die laughing. Oh my god, I think that was that was the day that we realized that Easter Bunny and all those other mythical creatures are I'm not

going to say it for the for the kids listening, that's funny. Oh that that reminds me though, Jim, you have a You have a good collection of Sansa dolls, though, don't you really? Yeah, yeah, not bad. I think you know, every year you know, break them out. Of course not this year, but yeah, you know really nice ones. You know that costs like ten to fifteen bucks to each. Cheesy, no, but they're nice. And then I put them on the steps

going up the steps. Yeah, I remember, I remember visiting years ago and seeing all the different and they're all they're all different races. I remember in Indian Santa and Black Santa change. Yeah, yeah, yeah, they're all all all from around the world. Martian Santa. Absolutely. One of my favorite Christmas decorations we have is that my name Marlene. She passed away just before COVID, so it would be three or four years ago now,

but she used to have this Santa Claus that it's like an animatronic. Once he pushed the button and then it just plays the music, the jingle bells and things like that. So when she passed, it's always reminds me when I was a kid. I always love pushing it at Christmas time. She always had it on the mantle. So every year now I bust out her Santa and put it on the mantle and then my kids enjoy playing it. So it's just sort of a nice way of sort of that's keeping the tradition

up with my dad. Yeah, I like that stuff. That's beautiful. But yeah, so, yeah, your voice various Satas. I was gonna ask you, though, so playing Santas in various different things, commercials or movies or whatever, do you tweak the voice or do you just have your stock standard Santa voice. I think it's pretty much stock standard Santa. Yeah.

And it's always a chore to make sure it doesn't sound like Pete, you know, Pete the big mean kat where there you go, pal, you know, because because it's kind of in that neck of the wood, you just have to keep it round and instead of let me just strangngle this little weasel over here. You know, we can't. We can't saying that

speaking of you voiceing commercials though. So I do another podcast with my wife about Friends, one about Friends podcasts, and we just did an episode called the one after the Super Bowl. Oh yeah, And at the start of that episode there is a commercial for monkey Shine beer and you are the voice in that commercial. Yes, you are. You are the first voice that we hear in the most viewed episode of Friends of all time. I could not believe it. Oh, I didn't go Yeah, wait, to say

that again, that's the most viewed episode of Friends. So they aired that episode. It's called the One after the super Bowl, and they aired that one at the beginning of ninety six, after super Bowl thirty to sort of keep the audience carried over from the super Bowl to the Friends episode. And it was a very special episode went for an hour. I had a lot of guest stars, Julia Roberts, John Claud Van Dam. But in the episode, the character ross his monkey Marcel is in a commercial selling beer.

And the episode begins with this super Bowl commercial selling this beer, and you are the voiceover in that commercial. Oh great, Yeah, I kind of remember it. But yeah, I remember the name of the one after the super Bowl. And that's that's a cool little thing. If I add that to two Nichols, I can get a name for it. I'm pretty sure well over fifty seven million people cheer into that episode. Yeah, wow, jeez, that's awesome. Well that's a good trivia. Yeah, it is

the who's who's the first voice to hear in the episode. But the thing is, now that I do this show with you, I watched things now I go is that, Jim. It's like, I'll listen out for you now. And when I was watching, I was like, yeah, no, can't be, No, no, can't be. And I watched I was like, oh my goodness, it is Jim Commings. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I show up in a lot of weird places, that's for sure. It's just it's incredible really when you think about it.

Your resume, there's no way all of your credits are on your resume. I just think you've done that many things. There's got to be some roles out there that, you know, you've have been on TV or movies that you just haven't been credited for, you know. Yeah, yeah, there was. Yeah, you're right about that. Actually, yeah, I don't know how people keep up on that. Christmas time was all done and dust, and then we had New Years. Did you guys do anything special for

New Year's Eve? Yeah? Yeah, I just spent it with some friends. My friend has a has a little a company that he runs, and they had like a brothel party at their no, it's a cigar company. Cool, and so they had a little party at their cigar lounge and got together with a bunch of friends and had a good time. Nice one. I took my kids to see fireworks for the very first time, and I filmed them as they witnessed fireworks for the first time, just seeing their little

lives just go whoa. It's just it was their first time. Never had never seen fireworks before in their life in person on TV obviously, but in person. It was just a really cool experience seeing seeing my kids just see fireworks for the first time. It was just it was nice. Yeah, oh wow, it's very special. What about you, Jim, I'm sure you just got absolutely drunken. Yes, absolutely not at all. Yeah, it was just just kind of laid back, you know, at a whole

different time zone, a whole different you know everything. We ended up kind of going to bed early and checked out Simon's Town, which is a very cool situation, and uh, you know, it's just landed back down here, you know. Still, let's let's talk about that though. So you've been in South Africa for a few weeks now, how has South Africa bean? It's just sort of a nice getaway, I mash. I mean, I mean the water looks lovely then, oh yeah, I can hear the

ocean in the background. It just it just seems like such a relaxing place. To be yes, absolutely absolutely. You know, I keep waiting for a whale and I'm disappointed every day. But that's okay, Well we'll keep

keep looking. But yeah, it's it's just beautiful, you know, and getting some nice things done, getting into a good headspace, as they say, and uh, you know, working on some things, taking some time out, you know, to catch up with the things that I wanted to catch up with, and and uh, it's just great, you know, working on some art and uh, you know, hopefully some some surprises coming

up, so stay tuned. Yeah, that's coming up. How's the food being very good, very good, unbelievable, you know, some of the the different meals that we've had here are astonishing, you know, and and things that don't even have meat in them, which is amazing for me because I'm a carnivore, you know, but yeah, being a hyena at all, that's exactly right. Yeah, but it's it's great, great stuff, you know. And Chris's younger sister lives here, Katrina. You know,

she's been doing some modeling here, so it's kind of cool. She she lives here, and she's been kind of full. Yeah, so she's kind of our resident native resident, you know, a person who knows where the hell she's going. So that's that's a beautiful thing. That's very handy to have, you know, the local places. Oh yeah, and just so you know, the water is really really perfect, so come on down. You won't freeze to death at all. It's just kidding, Yes you will.

There is some cold ass water it is. You are not going. You gotta earn it. What are you luck with water? Are you a good swimmer? I'm just fine, but not in not if I'm bumping into ice cubes, you know, in the water, because time to get out. Yeah, the waters freezing. Yeah, there's an iceberg behind in the behind you. You don't want to know, don't do it. Have you gone to Table Mountain Gym? Yes? Yeah, we were there, went

up uh and uh. It was unbelievably crowded because it was still during the summer, you know, when everybody was out, and there were whole school buses of kids there, and I was like, Okay, maybe maybe next time we'll be you know, unbelievable. It's yeah, they're everywhere, no matter where you go. It's terrible, just kidding. It's so funny because

when we went to the States on a honeymoon. I was telling Jamlia it went Disneyland and Disney World and there's people walking around with the prams and kids and prams and thing. Get out of the way. Now, I'm thinking, we're going to bay those people. It's just yeah, the cycle of life, you know. Oh yeah, yes, absolutely. I was just going to ask on the on the topic of South Africa. When I visited there, it was such a culture shock for me with the load shedding.

How's that load shedding experience been for you? Has it affected your mind? You know, knock on woold when I answer that, because we've been expecting it here there, and I think it matter happened once. Yeah, because we've had they've been mournings, okay from ten to five, and I mean, you know, noon to five. That's that just kills your day. You know, they've been predicting it, and so we're kind of prepared for

it and we're looking around and everything's still going. And you know, I'll knock on wood when I say that, but so far, so good. Do I explain to the listeners, you may not know what load shedding is. Yes, that's when they just turn off all the power you have no power, you know. I think there's like one or two things that they leave on, like your freezer or something such as that, and it's set

for those type of things. But no, it's you. If it's getting dark and you're watching your TV show, well you're not now you're waiting till five in the morning or whenever one o'clock in the morning when it comes back on. So I don't know. I guess it's all in the in the service to the grid. What are you gonna do? I'm assuming you've been to stef If for a few times. Any of your sister live there.

Chris, I've only been once. I've only been once last year. And yeah, my biggest culture shock was the load shedding, hence my question because I just couldn't believe and for the listeners, load shedding is I mean, just to elaborate, it's it's because the South African government and the country can't afford to keep the electricity on in the entire country for the whole day. So there's vast parts of South Africa that just have to turn off the power

to the extent that even street lights and traffic signals are shut down. I mean businesses can't accept credit cards, no electronic payments for hours a day. And it all depends on the region that you're in, but I mean it's it was just mind blowing to me that they couldn't even have power to the street lights and the traffic. They had to have traffic guards daily to direct

traffic, and it was just such a culture shock to me. It was mind blowing that and how cold the water is, like Gym alluded to I, you know, my naivete, I'm thinking Africa. You know, the water is going to be warm and tropical, and it was the coldest water I've ever been in my life. Yeah. So what about security alarms and things like that? You think that'd have to there'd be a lot of looting if the power has been turned off, right, Well, there's a lot

of generators are so good? Yeah okay, yeah, but you'd be the one looting, wouldn't you, Jim, Yeah, I have no problem. Yeah that yeah, that hole in the wall gang? That would that would be a Visualim Jim Money behind the news reporter with a fridge on his shoulders. Yeah, yeah, exactly like Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans. Maybe not so what I'm What were both of your New Ye's resolutions? If you had one, did you have any? Was it just the New year for me?

Jeez? Yeah I had well well too, not put up with yahoos and uh, you know, you know what if if people want to be in your life, let them in your life. If they're if they're beautiful and sweet and kind and uh, you know, you got to know what you know and uh, listen to your inner self. Your instincts are your best stinks, I always say, and keep one foot in front of the other and don't screw up. What about you, Chris, I actually didn't have a resolution this year. No, I didn't. I didn't make a

resolution. How about you? Well, my resolution was to listen to Jim and yourself talked to Ron Perlman, which is going to be coming up soon thankfully. Oh that's already come true. Ah, there's a segway for you, ladies and gentlemen. That's how you do it. Lots of episodes coming up here on Tuni of the Gym coming. It's a very exciting one. So we've got Ron Perlman in the can, Jess Harnell, who've already mentioned numerous times on this podcast, is going to be joining in the show.

Walter Jones, the Black Power Ranger. We've got Chris Judge from Stargate and whatnot, and just so many more episodes. Yes, it's going to be such a such a fun time here in twenty twenty four on Tuni of the Gym coming. So do support the show, help us kick the lights on here. You can support us on Patreon. But yeah, but with South Africa, Jim, so the Hyaenas. I'm assuing you've gone to see the Hyaenas. This's the thing that's in everyone's mind. You know ed you were

edding the Lion King. Are you going to see the Hyaenas yet? No, but they've come to see me. They've stopped by. They come by for tea every morning. We have tea and it's okay, Matt, I might be making this up, but no, Actually, so far is so good. A few bad boons, oh yeah, and I mean like downtown sitting there going well, holding babies up on the rooftops. That too. Yeah, they're live and kicking. You know, we're visiting them, they're

not visiting us. I've heard they could be quite ferocious if you get in their territory. They're very territorial. I've heard. Yeah, I didn't see it this time, but the one time I was here a long time ago, I saw a big fight between these two guys who were obviously trying to be dominant, and it was the nastiest thing you ever saw, you know, a bad boon fight. Oh, don't get you know, don't get

in the middle. Alrighty, Well, we did throw out on the social media at Jim Cummings acme and at Jim Cummings Pod asking for some questions for the mail bag. So you've got to send you questions through at the Jim Cummings Podcast at gmail dot com. We want to get in touch with the show. But the first question go for you, hear Jim. This one comes from at Lego Iago and they want to know what is your favorite Saturday morning breakfast cartoon show? What's the show used to watch growing up on?

You said you used to watch what's the show used to watch on Saturday mornings eating your breakfast? Huh? Let's see. Well, when I was very very little, Howdy Duty was on. I think I remember it for a little, you know, a little bit, and then I liked a show that nobody will remember because it was called Calvin in the Colonel. Heckel and Jeckyll were very big. I loved them. Tom and Jerry were cool, and you know, I liked Mighty Mouse here if I come perceived the dr

that guy, I thought he was cool as hell. But there was a show called, Yeah, it was called Calvin in the Colonel, and I thought it was really cool because it sounded like everybody in my neighborhood. And I found out later they took it off the air because it was a cartoon version of Amos and Andy, which really yeah, it was, you know, a comedy duo from back in the thirties, I think thirties or twenties

and thirties. And it turned out that one of them was a white guy playing a black guy, and so that was controversial, but that this was a cartoon of that, and I thought, I thought they just sounded cool, Calvin and the Colonel, and and Gavin was Soto dogging like this, and it didn't occur to me it was a black guy or a white guy. I thought he was like a colonel like Sanders, you know, really because and I think he was. But that was yeah, because we were

talking about that and then Beanie and Cecil. I don't know if anybody remembers that out there, because that wasn't one a Bob Clampet cartoon, and it was really cool and it was very inside and they had a lot of inside humor there, like they were going to the green Witch Island, Greenwich, the green Witch Village with Greenwich Village, you know, and it kind of it's kind of corny now, but it was really hip for its time. And Beanie and Cecil that was another one. And Heckle and Jekyll, Beanie

and Cecil. Yeah, and who else, like I said, Mighty Mouse, But yeah, there were a lot, you know, all the cool Looney tunes and all the cool how To movies with Goofy and them. Those were good. The shorts they quite popular. Way Yeah, oh yeah, that was good stuff. I mean, obviously being a nineties kid, being a nineties kid, I essentially grew up watching you on Saturday mornings. But what about you, Chris, I've said it before on the podcast. I

didn't really wait. Yeah, Saturday morning it was we only had an hour hour a day of like media, and me and my brother usually just used that on video games. We were big gamers. Wow, So that included

video game time as well. Yeah, yeah, one hour, Yeah, video games or TV, and we might have we would usually try and sneak video games in the morning and then like afternoon Pokemon, and I forget what came on after Pokemon, I can't remember, but yeah, we had, we had, we had Pokemon and dragon ball Z. That was that was the double headed Yeah, dragon ball Z. Yeah, dragon ball Z and then like yeah, I remember watching like dug and like totally Spies Possible skateboarding

cartoon, but it was really just like, you know, yeah, just catching whatever was on in allotted time. The next one comes from at Bowl and eight one zero the sde Chris. I love your role as Doctor Robotnik on Sonic and that's my favorite cartoon version of the character. As far as recording, did Jalil White record with you guys? And did you get to me him since that was the height of him as Steve Rkle Yes, it was, uh and yeah, yeah we met many times. A lot of

times he'd be there and a lot of times he wouldn't. But Robotnik wasn't in every single show, I don't think, so, you know, oftentimes I would run a digitalil. He was a nice guy. And uh it was funny because at the very first show they the writers were there and uh,

it'd be funny if Juli remember this. But they were trying to make him sound like a surfer, you know, and and they were, God, I'm trying to think there was a line that Son will say, dude, yeah that's awesome, but you know, that's really shwag man, it really lags, and it's really and it's all this lame duck surfer crap. And he goes and you know, and he's a proud young black man. He goes, Man, I ain't saying this bullshit, you know. I you know, it was like, well, oh, okay, here you

go. He said, no, he's gonna eat me out there, like let me tell you what it's you know, and he kind of rewrote the line. They're going, okay, you know, what are you gonna do. You're not gonna You're not gonna get to get tested with Erkele. I can tell you, you know, yeah, he's erkle. He knows what's up. But yeah, he was a great guy and I thought he did a bang up job. Obviously everybody else did too. Yeah, that show

was a lot of fun. Well, I've just added Julia White to our potential guest list for this y yeah, and future episode that would be great. Twenty four This next one he comes from at Real, John David twenty four Would you ever return to the Transformance franchise if they gave you a call to do more new characters? Only if they gave me a call to do more new characters, and if it was for money, and if it was for money. Yes, yeah, that I think you're onto something. I

should be writing this down. Yes, Okay, I think I think I got it. Okay, thanks, Okay, thanks for the question. The answer is yes. At O bother to zero two three. Yeah. So this one we we talked about a little bit earlier in this episode. What was it like doing e or in very Merry Pooh year. I'm glad, I'm so glad you scored the job for Poo and Tigger, but you did a mean e or too. I'm gonna look this up because Jim thinks he didn't do it. It'd just be funny if he actually did. Yes,

it really would be. And I can tell you the only reason that it would have been is if somebody was sick or something, and if he only had no no A Peter Colin was Peter Cullen. Yeah, okay, there you go. That sounds about right. I wonder whether they got the idea that you did or that one. Anyway, that person's going to show up to your next convention and give you a detailed list. Actually here's why you're actually Jim. Yeah, sorry, Jim, I wasn't born yet, but

yeah, that'll do it. But yeah, I'm sure someone's giving them false facts there. But unfortunately, no EO was not. Unfortunately, but EO was recorded and voiced to buy the one and only Peter Collen in a very merry Pooh yeah, another man who I feel we need to get on the podcast soon as well, Peter con let's have ingreence as well? Why not? Yeah, let's do at Jason Ball thirty four. Was there ever talk

of a sequel to the live action Christopher Robin movie? They loved that movie, and I thought that you did an amazing work in it, as did everybody. Oh we're good. Well yeah, I sure loved it. I mean, I nothing to do with me being in it. I just thought it was a really good movie and you know, I it's funny. I don't. I don't know of one single person other than us who are even talking about it, but I I, you know, your mind just kind

of goes here and there. And I thought that an interesting way to get into it is that Maddie grows up and because after all this was set look look at the time setting that this was originally set in, and uh, it gives her time to grow up and have her own problems and you know, fill in the blank, and the gang, the hundred Acre Wood Gang comes up and helps her with that and gets her through that, and hopefully she's married with child at the time, and that kid seen then thirty years

from now. Anyway, you see where I'm going with this. Anyway, I think we should do a secret sequel with Maddie. Oh yeah, they're all bet. They're all bet like short series now Netflix and things, aren't they. I feel like a short series would wear better probably mm hmm. Well I just saw that they released this. You remember the movie Ted with Mark Wahlberg and Seth MacFarlane where he's the Teddy Bear. They have a Hulu series now it's a television series to Ted. Yeah, good for them.

So, I mean it's it's definitely positive. I mean the reason I think of that is because you know, the live ambition with the musture of acting Zipgeatest kind of gets together and it all blends together. Yeah yeah, I mean just like the medium of you know, let's just push it out into the universe. Push it out to the universe. Live action TV series's make it happen. Mark Forster, are you listening, Mark Forster? Yeah, that's true. Huh yeah, and he is listening, all right. And

final question here from Adam Gone Carls. Are you going to interview any more voice actors? I believe we might be, as we've already mentioned, Yes, yeah, there's always a slim chance, so stay tuned t O O and ED. Yeah. People don't think of Ron Perlman as voice actor,

but of course, you know he was in Bonkers Perman of course. And just how now one of the most acclaimed voice actors ever, Walter Jones and Black powerranger Chris Judge, as we said, voice of who is the who is he the voice of Chris Credos in the reboot of God of War franchise. Yes, yeah, very very big deal, but you know, very

actually been working on. I'd probably say it on the show. Now we want to touch on Goofy movie, So I thought, what would be better than, you know, just having Jim talk about you movie with them, by getting Rob Paulson, by getting Bill Farmer and Jason Marson, everyone of the cast all in the one room, all on the same zoom call whatever talking about the movie. So that's going to be happening in a few weeks

as well. So I'm very very excited for that one. But yeah, lots of big names coming here on tune In with Jim coming, so support the show.
