Not a clue. That's for you, buddy. It is uh, he is back on Dixie Highway. Yes, it is back at his home home town. Basic, Holly, I'm talking. I lived just about a mile up north here. Yeah, we're in the fifty three hundred block. I was in the four thousand block of Dixie Highway. Honey. The old person's from the South End. Don't worry. They'll tell you south sidea tight six tight south side. Probably there. I thought they had badges like they would

actually wear South End born. Yeah, damn right, we do. But listen, we are at Harty's at Blanton and Dixie. Come on by and say hi, we're out here supporting a wonderful cause. It's USA Cares, Folks. I'm on the knees of my heart. If you haven't adopted a charity an organization for you and your family, please look into USA Cares at USA care dot org at Charity Navigator that looks into charities. They have given them a four out of score, four out of four perfect score, and

it's one hundred percent. Only three percent of charities have done that. So when you give the USA Cares, you're actually helping out the men and women that protect and served us, and they do it in a big way. Maybe a veteran can't make the mortgage note, maybe they can't make their rent, maybe they can't make their lg and ei, there's a food scarcity. It goes on and on and on. All these men and women do is

take care of those that took care of us by serving our countries. I bring in state representative, one of the hottest state representatives in Frankfurt, my wife, Susan. I don't think I have a bio on her. My bio is ingrained. Okay, we bring state Representative Susan Tyler Witten. How

did you get in touch with USA CARES. I mean sure, Well, when I was running for for state representative in District thirty one, part of running is knowing your district and knowing who and what what businesses and organizations are in your district. I found out that the national headquarters of USA CARES is right in the middle, that's right of District thirty one. So I was super excited that such a wonderful organization that I got to have that in my

district. So from that moment I really started. I made an introduction and started meeting the great folks there and really found out so much about USA Cares and what good it does for veterans. And so from that, from that moment on, I've been kind of advocating for him and fighting for him.

And I love, I love to see that we're here today that Hardy's and Carls Junior is being such a great advocate for him, and I just excited for people to know more about the organization, not just that you haven't been sitting on your hands in Frankfurt for some of the budgetary issues for USA Cares. I believe that two years in a row that Frankfort has decided it's important to have them in Kentucky. And you guys kind of up their their takeawak

we did. I fought hard. Senator Julie Rocky Adams fought really hard, and this year we we won and got the two million dollars in the budget for care so much needed they and they and they need it. They need it now because as you all have talked about, how many veterans are in need every single day. They're they're at risk of losing their home, they need a mental health and and USA Care is an organization that needs that needs

those dollars so that they can that they can do what they see. Fit Ton Representative Susan Tyler Whitten about USA Cares, she's the one actually uh tuned me into USA Care as a matter of fact. But when you say there's a need, a financial need, you know, having frankfort chip in, that's all well and good. I bless you all for doing that. God bless you Julie rock Adams, the rest of the General Assembly that did so. But there is a financial need, and I mean in a big way.

And here's what I'm talking about. We were talking to the former Chairman of the Board, Bill Roby earlier, and we're talking about one hundred and fifty to two hundred calls from veteran families that are in desperate need. And that's weekly weekly. So if you are looking for a charity to donate, well, and to your point that the FEDS are contacting USA Cares, like the Veteran administrations are saying go to these guys. That's well they do.

It's helping people and it's good and bad. I mean, it's a great organization. When a veterans hospital is recommending that these veterans co to us IT cares. Then that just means that the money is needed in an even greater amount. So whatever we do, they will they can use it. There there's really not there's not a point where we're not going to have veterans that that need assistance. And we're gonna as long as there are veterans that need

assistants, then we're going to keep. Uh, we're gonna keep trying to help. Yeah. Uh, and we're here at Hardy's, which is a contributor also the I think nationally. So uh, you know, if you frequent the restaurant Hardy's or of course Carl's Junior. If you're the listening area, you don't have a Hardy's. Uh, they work hard and they have partnered for years and years and years. If you're if maybe if you're a CFO or a CEO of a company. We have so many organizations based out

of Louis, Kentucky. Look, if you partner with USA Cares, you will not be disappointed. I'm talking about four out of four with Charity Navigator or perfect Score with an organization that does nothing but looks through charities with a microscope. Susan Tyler winning state representatives join us right now. Well, so you were here at Hardy's and was more hang on, there's more to that kind go ahead. I'm now I feel like I'm up with two wives.

I can't get one sentence out. Go ahead, you had something to say, I'm good? No, go ahead, Susan, Susan Junior, I'll go ahead. Seriously. So I thought you were finished from your soapbox. But are you just gonna chug on the air? Okay? Uh? So I was gonna take things in a lighter moment with you because we've got ten more minutes in this break, but go ahead. Uh. So his favorite sandwich here at heart Ease Whites is uh the what mushroom? I'm I'm falling.

Look, I'm all my favorite the mushroom and Swiss. But all of a sudden, I'm not goodness has to pop up, and uh, I'm not leaving here without Uh that's the question, not without. Yeah, he's getting one, because this hell depends on how the rest of your day goes. He gets the mushrom Swiss I was talking about me. Oh, I'm sorry. He needs He's got some six ounces of salmon and some rice that he's packed in his little lunch bag. But that's gonna be that's gonna be

dinner. I'm getting the one hundred percent angus goodness and the mushroom of Swiss here at Harty's at Dixie and Black and Lane. Come on buy. We're broadcasting with USA Cares us he Cares, dot o RG if you want to contribute. But there's also other ways they can have fun, donate to USA Cares, do some good for the neighborhood, and have a fun times. That's right, you know. Obviously donating is is fantastic, but sometimes people want an event to go to. They they want they want to donate,

but they kind of want something to show for it. USA Cares is having their USA Cares Gala in in July, July twenty seventh at the Galt House. Yeah, we were there last year. Yeah, it is a fantastic event. Dwight and I are going to be there this year and so, uh, that is a great way to donate to USA Cares and have a great time as well. It is actually, man, it is a really good time. And it boy, let me tell you, it's grown. It is. It's they takes that whole room up. It's like fifteen hundred

people. It's crazy. It's a great event. Jackie was with us last year and she was she she's doing the I turned around said, are you crying because they did the the the table uh setting, Yes, the table settings with the chairs, the chair, yes, the chair. Oh yeah, now it is. I don't think I've mentioned to Dwight that it is a black tie, Gayla, it's a dressed up. I think I think I got a black tie that will pair perfectly with my jeans. Yeah, so do I put them. It's a cliff on time, but it's black.

I think a little black dress would look great on you. I'm not above it. I know, I know you aren't. I know you aren't. He's got a black tie that has a little keyboard on it, remember that from nineteen eighty three. Fortunately I do for you. Nonetheless, No, you're not wearing that. Yeah, well we'll make sure that we are. We are dressed appropriately. But if anyone would like to attend that as their way to to donate to USA Cares, they could buy tickets at USA

cares dot org. I will say this, so please go there. I

think it was two years ago or three years ago. They had a keynote speaker that was a retired general that went into politics, and he's telling the stories of how these politicians have no clue of what the regular soldier goes through, right, and how he goes he tells, he's telling the story, and he wants to make his point, so he brings in the shovel, you know, that shovel that's everything on your back, on your in your your army, guys have He came in and threw it on the table of

all these politicians, said, who can figure out even to open the shovel? And and uh to make his point and uh, and you know, and of course I think he got what he needed from all these these folks because at the time, I think it was still they were still we were still knee deep in the sand over there. So it's funny that you get the keto speakers there that are just so inspiring and awesome and informative that that's a reason alone to go back to the event every year. That's right,

but it keeps growing. And uh, and I we'll we'll definitely be there. We got to detend it'll be great. But it's important to keep you know, our veterans top of mind. I mean, it's something that's very important that we uh that we do in Frankfurt. We we pass you know, probably a dozen a dozen bills every year really specifically looking at how we can help veterans in Kentucky. Uh. And so just the appropriation for USA

Cares was just one additional piece of that. I'm really proud that we were able to get that done this year, but there's more to be done. So next next January when we start the new session, we'll keep we'll keep fighting for him. And listen, grateful that my tax dollars a small portion, unfortunately my tax dollars are going to USA Cares. But that's just a drop in the bucket. We're talking about organization that if you ask me,

that he's at least twenty five million dollars a year to run. And here's why, man, When you have one hundred and fifty to two hundred families calling in desperate need, and we're talking desperate need. They're getting ready to lose their home, get kicked out of their apartment, can't afford food, it goes on and on and on. If it's on your heart to adopt a charity, I can't say enough about USA Cares dot o RG for a

four rating. Baby when it comes to charity Navigator a perfect score. So you know your money is going to where it's supposed to go to our veterans. That's right, that's right. Uh So future plans in Frankfurt to add some of that to to some more money or more we're going to make sure. We're going to make sure that they get what they need. You know, you can look and I mean obviously this is a national organization. Yeah we could. You know, there are enough needs in Kentucky alone that could

spend, that could spend the two million dollars, you know. And so you know you've got Texas, You've got you know, North Carolina. Everyone is coming and asking USA Cares for help. Even like we said, the Veteran hospital are sending our sending veterans to USA Cares because they know they'll be taken care of. We just need more financial help. Well, let's focus on what you need, which is we understand that you do all the outside

work at the house. Yeah, I want to know, but it is at least white providing a lawnmower that works, uh and is improper working. She's got some I'll answer that one. Let me speak to myself on this. If it's perfectly good lawnmore, if she would get off her ass and just give it a tune up, new spark plug. You know what I'm saying, change your oil. So they answer the question, you asks, perfectly good lawnmore if she would maintain it properly. But I don't want to

dress her down here from me. Yeah, dress her down everybody. You know what I mean, right, I just want to make sure you get what you need at home, right, No, the proper tools, a proper trust me. She has the proper tool already, so you're looking. She's got the biggest and listen. Kentucky. Kentucky State Representative Susan Tyler Waittin, thanks for all the good you do. Of course, well veterans. Veterans are important to me, and I'll always do whatever I can to help

the veterans of Kentucky, especially in my district, but across Kentucky. So I'm here to help. USA Cares dot o RG. That's what we're talking about. Four out of four rating when it comes to Charity Navigator. Charity Charity Navigator, that's all they do. They look at charities with a microscope, a fine tooth calm, and these men and women scored a perfect one hundred percent score. Only three percent of charities can say that. So God bless you USA Cares. I'm on that needs my heart. If you're a

CFO, a CEO, hey listen to this. Have your company partner with USA Cares. I promise you you won't regret it. And and don't forget to join us at the gala July twenty seventh at the Golf House. You can buy tickets at USA Cares dot org. It's gonna be a lot of fun. You can hang out with with Dwight and Dwight and myself and Johnny and jack Na. There's going to be a great what you're thinking right now, you don't have to worry about They always sit the Wittons in the back

corner, so don't worry. You'll have a good time, all right, folks, Thank you Susan for every thing. Thank you guys. Live Hearty's here on Dixie Highway. Come by and say hi. Come on, buy and see us. We are at Dixie and blend at the Hardys. All right, folks, broadcasting live at Hardy's on Dixie Highway with the USA Cares. First, I want to remind you I'll be going by Weight Law Centers of Louisville today do another red light therapy. They've got three different programs to lose weight. Several of them are just a couple of months long. There's an eight week program that my wife and I both did together and we both lost the weight we wanted to lose in three weeks.

So we gained some weight slowly over three years, and we lost it all in three weeks. And we've kept it off. It's been great. You get an advocate, you get a coach, you get an app, you get all that stuff at Weight Loss Centers of Louisville nine oh six seventy one oh five. Call that now, nine oh six seventy one oh five. Get on one of the programs. You'll lose the weight. I guarantee you,

just like the Venettes did in three weeks. So check them out nine o six seventy one oh five and ask for the venue Edie special for the Red Light Therapy. It's forty nine dollars, Courtney, the Vinetti Special. I am I'm always your special. Oh man, you got it scared yesterday. I know I scared you all, and I didn't respond to you. No, No, it's like you got I'm sitting at dinner and I go Courtney did not text or tell us what the hell is going on with her

tests? And I got to the doctors and my doctor was running three two and a half hours late. So I'm sitting there, I'm like at that point, why don't you call me before I head to the office. So then of course I was like in a scramble to try to get my kids picked up, and oh it was a lot of stress I didn't need yesterday. Yeah, and they're like, keep your stress down. I'm like, really, people, my son is going to be standing on the side of

a road right and I can't find somebody to watch them. So anyway, that was yeah, my day yesterday. But it's all good news for those who didn't hear the last hour, even though you got should be listening for hours and hours to w h A s. Yeah, so it's good news. My skins are clear. Good news. What else do you have for it? Is what? It is? May thirtieth, So it is national mint Julip Day. Oh my god. Really yeah, so go have one

to be the first Saturday in May. I know you would think, but no, it's it's actually May thirtieth, So enjoy yourself a little bit of so many julips outside Kentucky. I didn't even know that happened. Yeah, I don't think so. I mean, I've never had one outside of Kentucky. But also yeah, but also I'm not a strong hard liquor kind of fans. So it's like, I'm still my box wine sort of girl.

I mean, if you're just one of those people that are like, any excuse to get boozed inside your body, fine, but it's kind of gross. It's a it's a little rough for the wear. But I have two good news stories for you. First one is Walmart store managers now have the potential to make half a million dollars a year in salary. Oh my gosh, yep. So they're trying to boost attention because a lot of store managers are just checking out of there. The retailer has sweetened pay and stock incentives

for its store managers. So if a manager hits sales and profit targets, bonuses could be up to two hundred percent of the manager's base salary, and that could bring them up to about five hundred thousand dollars. Yeah, Walmart's trying to match a Target's beIN on that. Forever. I've been telling people, I'm like, you understand, if you're college age and you work for Target and you commit or whatever, they'll they'll they'll pay for your damn semester

of college and your books. Yeah, it's crazy. Well, they're trying to be able to set themselves apart. And the issue was Walmart focused more on workers who were on the lower pay scale getting them up to minimum wage, but kind of in this whole entire process forgot about their senior folks. So their senior folks were like, Hey, what about me? Why am I not getting So they ended up trying to do that. And the second

quick stories, Queen is looking for somebody to love its music catalog. So the band is said to be in talks with Sony Music and another investor about selling its catalog for as much as a billion dollars. I guarantee it. No, I guarantee it because there's a lot of I think Sting sold his for three hundred and fifty million dollars, so you know, if Stings goes for that, Queen is gonna definitely get. I mean a billion is a lot. Maybe they get close to that, but yeah, I could see

it. Well, they hope the deal doesn't bite the dust. Huh heard what I did? Oh, so now let the billion. If they do get the billion, they'll be fat bottom girls forever. So looking at the markets, traders are now expecting the federal reserves cut interest rates just once this year, with inflationary pressure still quite high. The doll right now down three hundred and eighty six points, leading the losses. It's down one percent.

The S and B not so bad, but still lower. It's down about half a percent in trading today with the news radio eight forty w h A s. Bloomberg Money Report, I'm Courtney Donaho. Here we go. We are back live from Hardy's on Dwight Whitton's home Stretch, Ditsey Highway. It's my home court, Hardy's, Baby Dixie and Blanton Lane. Come on buy and see us rout here with the USA CARES go to usacres dot O RG. You won't be disappointed. As we bring in Cameron from Hardy's and also

Trace from USA Cares. Good morning guys, how you doing morning? Good morning listen. I'll find this shocking, and then we're going down to business with USA Cares. I'm talking to Cameron and I say how many mushroom and Swisses do you eat tonight? Because I would eat five a day if if I works at Hardy's. He said, any I like mushrooms? What's the matter with you? I don't do mushrooms. What's your favorite saying which at Hardy's the Frisco? Yes, Yes, I do the Frisco. I just

did the Frisco breakfast sandwich a couple of hours ago. Cut it in half, baby, and it's ready to rock. I love it. Listen. It's always great to govern buy Hardys because the food is absolutely delicious. But here's another reason. Hardy's and Carls Jr. They have been doing good for the neighborhood, helping out our men and women that protected and serving and some gave all talk about our veterans. They've partnered with USA Cares and and they've

been a partner for how long? Quite some time? Right, it was way before me. Wowven years? How many years? Years? I know it's over five million dollars. Wow. Well, let's talk about the need for USA Cares and let's talk about what usay Care does. You can't talk about everything that you all do because you do so much. But let me just hit a couple of points. If a veteran's getting ready to if they can't meet the note on their mortgage, getting ready to lose their home,

you all step in. It could be electricity, could be rent it could be food scarcity, the needs, they go on and on and on and on and on and USA Cares. When you give to USA Cares dot org, the money goes to help the veterans so much, to the point you could be sure of that because you got a four out of four score with an organization that looks into charities and that's all they do, A perfect score, one hundred percent. Yeah, you gotta be proud of that, right.

I am very proud of the staff. We've worked very hard. I've been with the organization now for going on six years. Yeah, And that was what I was charged with, was to try to gain so much transparency, try to make sure that everyone trusts and believes in USA Cares, and get a national presence. That was my major objective whenever I came to the organization. I mean, they've been doing good for twenty years, so it

isn't that. It was more so making everyone aware of it. And I tell you that's that's a challenge because I can't get on Fox News and start aptingvertising all the time. I mean, it's same cost I could stop in eviction, So why am I going to do that? Amen to that, and I got to tell you nothing's more infuriating if you support a cause than you find out that ninety percent of it goes to the CEOs wherever the rest of it goes. It's not the case with you, guys. You take

care of the men and women that took care of us. And why Louisville, Kentucky is the headquarters. It started up twenty years ago outside of Fort Knox and that was when two thousand and three was the big surge back into Iraq. Right, Okay, so we didn't understand and I wasn't wearing a uniform back in that time, friend, but we didn't understand the hazards of the IEDs and things like that. And you all have Brian Anderson on earlier. I mean, Brian is awesome. We love him, He's become a

good friend. It doesn't have the same impact on the radio because you can't see that he's missing two legs and one arm. And it's because of an ID. Right. Well, Fort Knox was designated as a location. They were going to say people back to this area that went through situations like them and they're going to be transitioned out of Fort Knox in through the VA And it was gonna be the seamless thing they I mean, and the military did a great job at this, right, So I don't ever think I'm knocking

them. But because of that at Fort Knox, that meant all these service members were coming to our airport and the community was seeing it. So when they were seeing these severely injured service members coming through, everybody's like, what's going on? What is going on? And then Wave TV and I'll say, don Gee helped lead that up. She's a great woman, man. Yeah, she's a buddy of ours. We love her, and she got behind it. They started selling yard signs and that's how it was born.

Well, you put the uniform on, you have your own story. Well it's not that glamorous of a story. Yeah, I always say everybody else has got a better story. Well, you know everybody's it's their own for sure. But that gives you the passion for USA cares, you know,

you know what's going on. I keep saying that I watched you know, one of the shows on Sunday morning, Yeah, and that they had two lawmakers from Washington, and one of the stats that jumped out of me was he said thirty percent of not officers, but the regular regular Army, their families at when they're deployed, their families are on foodstams. They are It's like, this is crazy. Yeah, I don't. I don't get that. So they're trying to improve that situation. But until then USA Cares could

fill that gap. That's what we're doing. I you know, I graduated. I have to be careful saying this. When I say that, people start doing I graduated from Northwall in high school. Yeah, so, you know, and then I needed to figure out something different to do. I started a law enforcement program in college and realized, hey, I can't afford this. I went in the army for some reason, thought jumping out of planes would be cool. Yeah that was stupid. Yeah, but no,

no, I had a lot of fun with that. I had a lot of fun with it. What better way to get to work? Yeah, but uh, it just yeah, you know, I I saw a lot of things and and went through a difficult transition. Thank God for my wife. She helped me through that transition. But if I hadn't had her, Yeah, I would have been one of those people calling US cares. Correct. I mean, because that that transition out of the military into civilian sector it can be challenging. I saw, Yeah, I saw an interview with

one of the who played Darth Vader's grandson. He's a what's his name, he's a famous actor, Frank, and he's a combat marine and he said that, he said, you know, the lie is when you you're a combat marine or combat soldier that when you come home, oh everything's simple, like you live through that. Everything, Well, it's Nothing's the house he goes that's a lie. It's just a lot he goes in. In some way, he felt more with his marines than he does at home. Yeah,

and I don't blame anyone. I truly believe the military is doing the best they can to transition them out. They have programs that they try to help, but they're so young and they're not listening. They're not paying attention. They don't understand about saving you know when yeah, you know, you're in uniform and you have they call l E s leeve earned statement talks about your pay. You'd go in any car lot down here and you drive out with the brand new Ram trunk, right, you know what kind of sense

does that make for someone that he doesn't make it? So you don't prepare yourself. Yeah, and it's it's just it's a cycle of life. It's it's something that happens with service members. Folks. If you're looking for a charity to adopt, look no further. It's USA Cares dot Org a four out of four rating with Charity Navigator. All they do is look into charities with a fine tooth comb and a microscope. These men and women, they scored one hundred percent. Sure money is actually going for a good cost.

And let's say maybe you're a c O or a CFO, or you're high up an executive level at a company here in Louis, Kentucky. You talking about getting a partnership that you won't regret. Reach out to USA Cares. I want to talk to Cameron real quick about that. How prideful are you that your company Hardy's Carl's Junior for how many years you've been supporting eleven years? Yeah, you gotta, you gotta have a lot of pride in that, Cameron, right, very much, so you should. I didn't serve,

so it's important to me to to support the folks that did. My father served, my uncle served, I have a son in law that served as well. So uh, to me, it's about giving back and supporting and doing all that we can for those veterans. Tell you hang on. Tell us about the Hardy's brand real quick. Why are you proud of the Hardy's brand and the Carls Junior. Well, Harty's is kind of known as

that hometown. So when it was a small town somewhere, you would find a gas station in the Hardy's and yeah, right before McDonald's would come in, before anyone else would come in, it would be a Hardy's restaurant. And Hardy's has been around for eighty plus years and it's been that hometown. We actually still have one of those restaurants as part of our company. It's in Granite Falls, Minnesota, really and it's it's in between the lakes and

it's off of a highway. But if you want anything besides Harty's that you're not gonna get it all. All what You've got a hardy As and Granite Falls. You know, when I went there, it was like, Wow, this is like going back thirty years. This is what hardy was all about. I think the only thing that you and I don't agree on is

the mushroom in Swiss is the king of it all. But when you build one in Saint Matthews, please, when you come by Hearty's, Dixie and Blanton, you can actually fill out a card with a store and I says I support military veterans and families. I filled mine out come by But folks, I'm on the knees of my heart. If you're looking for an organization to adopt for you and your family, look no further. It's USA Cares dot org. Back after this news radio for wha stick around
