A

Hello listeners, it's Tuesday the 28th of April. I'm Tim.

B

And I'm Sam, and it's time for today with Todies, the show that's packed full of. Challenges and facts. And talking of facts, Tim, do you want to hear the answer to my fantastic fact from yesterday's episode?

A

Yeah, of course. Can you remind me and the listeners what it was again?

B

So I am Do most people do between five

🎵 Music

Well

A

I've had to think about this and I'm struggling to find the answer.

Do we do uh the word um?

No not really.

A

Is it breathe?

B

Not breathing.

A

Yes please go on you're gonna have to do that.

🎵 Music

B

They play.

🎵 Music

A

So that makes so much sense.

B

Well, it comes so naturally, doesn't it? Our bodies make sure we blink loads to keep our eyes clean, healthy, moist, which means slightly wet because we don't want our eyes to be too dry.

A

It's really important for us to believe. Not if you're in the middle of a staring contest.

B

Yeah, exactly. That's the opposite of what you want to do in a staring contest. Although it is very hard. In fact, some people. That the world record for not blinking was set by a person 14 years ago in a staring contest here. No way. Apparently it was a big competition and a Forty minutes and fifty nine seconds.

A

Fifty nine seconds. That's like the duration of six episodes of Blue.

B

That is a long time not.

Bungee into the Challenge Bucket

A

about blinking to talking about bubbling because I think I can hear something coming our way.

B

It sounds like non-stop bubbling to me. Sounds big, sounds bubbly, kind of buckety. So it has to be.

A

THE BIG BUBBLING BUCKET OF CHALLENGES Yes, our big bubbling bucket is full of games, facts, stories and surprises.

B

And every day it sets us new challenges, which we need to find first.

A

Now I can't help but notice there's a long bungee cord at the side of the bucket. So if you don't mind, I think it might be quite fun if I do a bungee jump into the bucket today.

B

Oh yeah, that sounds really exciting to him, but what actually is a bungee cord? Oh

A

Well it's a really, really long rope that stretches. So when the rope reaches its full length you kinda bounce back up and then down again and then back up and then down until the rope finishes moving. It's like a big elastic band. And do you know some people do bungee jumping off really high bridges, but today it's into a bucket.

B

Great. Are you safe and clipped into this bungee cord correctly, Tim?

A

Absolutely. Thank you for checking. Yeah, I'm good to go. Okay, Bucket, get ready because here comes Bungie Tim!

B

We do need challenges.

A

I know, here we go, I'm just gonna unclick myself from the bungee cord. Oh, there we go. Okay. Wow. No way, Sam. The bucket is full of roller skates. You love roller skates?

B

I do.

A

And tambourines and ooh some toffee apples.

B

Wow, there are a lot of things down there for a good time, aren't there? Yeah.

A

Yeah, very true. Although, I'm not sure if my roller skate skills are what they used to be. I can see a ribbon tangled around the wheel of a roller skate. Let me untangle it for the bucket. Oh, there we go. Hang on a minute. There's something typed onto this ribbon! Today's first challenge.

B

Ha ha great work, Tim.

A

Uh right, well I can't really bungee back up, so I'm just gonna make my way back up. Hang on a second, just pull my

A

B

Brilliant! Okay, our first challenge everyone is Do elephants meow.

🎵 Music

A

Ah brilliant! This is one of my favourite challenges!

B

Now then everyone, this is how the challenge works. I'm gonna tell Tim some facts about an animal.

A

And my job is to guess what the animal is. And if you think you know what the animal is too, then you know what to do, listeners, shout it out, because this challenge is always easier with your help.

B

Okay, Tim, and all of you listening at home, here we go.

🎵 Music

B

lays the largest eggs in the world.

A

Straight away. Yep. I know it. I'm gonna wait for the next clue. Before I guess.

B

Okay. Yeah. You want the next clip?

A

Yes please.

B

Okay, here we go.

A

Cause it would be too easy if I got it straight away.

B

Probably, but if you're sure.

A

No, let's have the next

B

Okay. Tim, this animal can grow up to 2.7 meters tall, which is around the same height if you stack 24 tins of beans on top of each other.

Giraffes don't lay out.

B

You think it's a giraffe, okay?

A

Well you just said it's really tall.

B

Mm-hmm, two point seven meters tall.

A

two point seven.

B

So imagine twenty four beans on top of each other in their cans.

A

Well that's kind of a bit as well like a door and a half, isn't it? Yeah. Oh.

B

That's good.

A

Maybe giraffes are bigger than that, but giraffes don't like it. Yeah, I do I still know what it is, but I'm definitely gonna have the next clue, please.

This is

B

It's due to their ability to survive a long time without water.

A

Blizzards aren't two point seven.

B

You think it's a lizard? Is that your guess?

A

But you just said that it lives in deserts and can survive for a long time without water. This is really tough now. Okay. I I need my next clue, please.

B

Your next clue is this. Are there worlds large? But they can't

Fly. Ah.

A

Okay. Yeah, I think I do know what it is. This goes back to the first clue about the eggs. I think I do know this, but I'm not gonna guess until after I've heard the last clue.

🎵 Music

B

speeds of forty five miles per hour.

A

Okay, hang on a minute. There's a few facts in here that don't really match.

🎵 Music

A

But This is quite amazing. If this animal can do everything that you said it could be. And I've got it right, then this is amazing. I'm gonna guess what do you think, listeners? An animal that lays the world's biggest eggs is 2.7 meters tall. Can survive in deserts without water for a long time. They're the world's biggest bird, but cannot fly and can run 45 miles an hour. I think it might be an Uh oh ostrich.

B

Tim, listeners. Today's animal is an ostrich! Well done Tim! And well done to all of you at home that guessed the right answer too. I always find it so interesting. The ostriches can't fly Tim, but they can run really fast.

A

Yeah, I didn't realise they were that big as well. Two point seven meters tall.

B

Ooh, Jake.

A

Yeah, and they can run forty-five miles an hour. That is crazy.

B

It's incredible.

A

Me too. That might be my new favourite animal.

B

Ha ha ha.

Wrong Answers Only Fun

A

Oh, do you know what? I think it might be time for me to bungee jump back into the bucket.

B

I think the listeners are ready. I'm definitely ready.

A

We just pull the bungee back up here.

B

Thank you.

A

Okay, there's the end. I'm just gonna clip it back onto my harness. Okay. Can you give me a countdown?

B

Of course. Three, two, one, but yay!

A

Woo! Okay, we just undo that. I love bungee jumping. Okay. Well I can confirm that there are no big ostriches down here, Sammy.

B

Phew, that is a relief actually.

A

But there are still plenty of tambourines down here. Can't resist, I'm just gonna have a little go here. I'm not getting much noise out of this one. Oh, I see why. There's another ribbon tangled around the tiny symbol. Okay. Okay, and if I learned anything from last time, I'm pretty sure that if I look at the ribbon, I'll see. Yeah, of course I can. It's today's second challenge on the ribbon.

B

Whew! Okay, come back up, we'll get started.

A

Okay, wait there, on my way back.

Right.

A

Here we go, bought the ribbon with me, and if I read the writing it says our second challenge is Wrong answers only.

B

Fantastic, I love this one.

A

Yeah, me too. We can be as silly as we like. Shall we remind everyone of the rules?

B

Yeah, good idea, Tim. Okay, listeners. So Tim and I are gonna take it in turns to ask each other, and all of you listening, of course, some questions.

A

Yeah, and whoever is being asked the question then has to shout out wrong answers only.

B

And remember the sillier the wrong answers are, the better.

A

That's right.

B

So if I asked you what ingredients go into a sponge cake, you could say Or toothpaste.

A

Or even a surfboard.

B

Yeah, but you couldn't say sugar or flour because that would be the right answer. And in this game we Answers only. Okay, join in by saying your wrong answers along with us, everyone. Ready, Tim?

A

Oh I'm ready to get it.

B

Perfect. Here we go. Your first question is. Name something you wear when it's hot outside.

A

Oh when it's hot outside I wrap up in a carpet. A big rat yeah just a Shagpile carpet, really fluffy one. Just wrap it up real tight.

B

Really, I'm not sure. Tell you what, Tim, when it's hot outside I always um Put on my fridge. Oh do you? Yeah. Perfect, really. Good.

A

Okay, my turn.

B

really itchy my nose and and need to sneeze when I see um a zebra crossing. Happens a lot when I'm driving around. That is good. Back to me. Tim, name some

Yeah.

A

Oh my favourite thing to sing along to is a fire. Yeah.

B

That's perfect.

A

It's one of my favourite songs ever. It really helps me to go to sleep. So

B

Oh, really? Yeah. I really like it.

A

What do you like singing along too?

B

Um, I really like singing along to um the train. You know, when the train goes by. Two true. Boom.

A

Oh that's so good. Okay, last question everyone. What's the missing word in this sentence?

B

Clean a watermelon. After every single bath, you must clean a watermelon.

A

No you're wrong Sam, because after bath it's always important to high five a rabbit.

B

Ha ha

A

Yeah. Always really important. High five out.

B

High five those rabbits everyone.

Joke Time and Farewell

A

Oh no Can't be the end of the episode already.

B

Ah, it's really flown by today, Tim. But sadly the bell does mean it's time for us to head off.

A

Okay, Sammy.

🎵 Music

B

Yeah, great idea to do.
