Episode description

In the latest episode of our Today in the EU podcast, we are looking at how European elections have impacted French President Emmanuel Macron's policy choices.

After France became the first country in the world to enshrine in the Constitution the right of women to have an abortion, the country now wants to regulate assisted dying. The newfound focus on civil and social rights has convinced many that Macron is trying to win back votes from the left in the run-up to June's European elections.

We sat down with Clara Bauer-Babef, health and politics reporter of Euractiv France, to unravel the matter.
