Episode description

Today we revisit Kate’s conversation with Allison Ellsworth, the Co-Founder and Chief Brand Officer of Poppi. It was recently announced that Allison is selling her company to PepsiCo for nearly $2 billion.

In this episode, Allison discusses her story of founding Poppi after facing numerous gut-health issues but being dissatisfied by the solutions her doctors came up with. After noticing the immense health benefits but bad taste of apple cider vinegar, Allison and her husband Stephen created Mother Beverage, a prebiotic soda that makes apple cider vinegar taste good.

From selling at farmer’s markets to getting an investment on Shark Tank, Poppi has revolutionized the soda industry by doing the unthinkable: creating a soda that is both tasty and good for you. Poppi sodas have been seen in the hands of Billie Eilish, Russell Westbrook, Jennifer Lopez, and many of your favorite celebrities. Poppi’s grape flavor won Food and Beverage Magazine’s Product of the Year for 2023, and the brand is the number one best-selling soda on Amazon.
