Cracking Open The Menopause Conversation with Shirley Weir
In this episode, I have the pleasure to talk to Shirley Weir, Founder of Menopause Chicks. Menopause Chicks empowers women to talk openly about perimenopause and menopause, to navigate midlife health information and to connect to women’s health professionals.
Since launching Menopause Chicks, Shirley spoke at TEDx Gastown Women, Pecha Kucha, received a YWCA Vancouver Woman of Distinction Award and Menopause Chicks has been featured in the National Post, Toronto Star, and OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network.)
In 2018, her first book, MOKITA: How to navigate perimenopause with confidence & ease reached #1 on Amazon.ca in women’s health.
Her online Facebook community fields an average of 15,000 questions and comments every month. Members regard the group as unbiased, trustworthy and the “go-to” place to get their questions answered and to affirm they are not alone.
