A long time ago, there was a town called Sleepy Hollow. A small town found in a secluded glen and surrounded by a dark forest, Sleepy Hollow was said to be haunted.
00:16
A young man named Ichabod Crane had just moved to town. He was a new school master. A school master is just another name for a teacher and what is your teacher's name? _________ Thatโs a wonderful name.
00:36
One autumn night, Ichabod was invited to the yearly harvest party held at the Van Tassel home. The Van Tassels were the wealthiest family in town. Ichabod didn't have anything nice to wear, as he was very tall and lanky and nothing fit him properly. Do you know what tall and lanky means? Well it's the opposite of short and stout. Reach up as high as you can that's being tall and lanky. Now squat down low like this. That's short and stout. Tall lanky short and stout. Tall and lanky, short and stout.

When Ichabod arrived at the party he immediately saw her the beautiful Katrina Van Tassel, the sole child of the wealthy Baltus Van Tassel. She was wearing a beautiful blue dress, trimmed with expensive lace. Can you point to the blue dress? Fantastic.

Determined to meet her, Ichabod gathered his courage, walked over to Katrina and asked her to dance. You're the new school master, from Connecticut, aren't you? Why yes, just arrived last week. New to town huh? Well tell me, have you met the Headless Horseman yet? Brom Bones, a local farmer a noted town prankster, barged through the door. Well he doesn't like newcomers. I'd be careful tonight. Quickly took Ichabod's hand and led him out onto the dance floor. Don't mind him, he gets jealous if anybody asks me to dance. Being tall and lanky, Ichabod was a horrible dancer. His long legs constantly tripping over his large feet, but he tried his best and Katrina didn't seem to mind. Can you dance like Ichabod? Remember he is tall and lanky and canโt dance very well. Oh what a silly dance.
2:49
At the end of the dance, Ichabod asked Katrina about the Headless Horseman. Oh, it's just an old ghost story about a horseman who terrifies these woods at night because he has a larger pumpkin in place of his head. A pumpkin in place of his head? Can you point to the pumpkin? Good Job.
3:15
After the party had ended, Ichabod found himself alone on a dark road traveling back to the farmhouse where he was staying. The haunted sounds of the old forest at midnight sent chills down his spine. He gripped the reins of his horse a little tighter and then he heard it. The quickening sound of a galloping horse grew stronger. He turned around and saw him, a headless man with a large pumpkin sitting on top of his slumped shoulders riding a black horse. Ichabod snapped the reins of his horse and with a swift kick to the side raced as fast as he could to escape this impending doom.
3:59
Can you gallop like a horse? Faster! He's getting closer. Suddenly Ichabod saw a low hanging branch from an old tulip tree which had sunk low across the road at the end of the bridge. He tried to stop, but was galloping too fast. Oh what should I do? Duck under, or jump over this branch? Quickly. Ichabod ducked and his head barely cleared the large branch. The horseman however wasn't so lucky. His large pumpkin head slammed into the branch at full speed and the rider was thrown from his horse onto the ground. The pumpkin smashed to pieces.
4:48
A large number of townsfolk who had heard the clatter, came out to the bridge to investigate. To their astonishment, they found Ichabod there cleaning fresh pumpkin mash from the mysterious horseman's face. Why it was Bron Bones, the town prankster who had disguised himself in black, donned a pumpkin on his head and pretended to be the headless horseman all this time and who now found himself with a very large headache.
