Episode description

Selected to the first team All-American in 2020, our guest today has already had a storied career at the young age of 22. Megan Walker, small forward with the Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA was drafted 9th overall during the virtual 2020 draft by the New York Liberty after playing college ball at UCONN. She joins us today from Hungary where she plays in the EuroLeague and talks with us about the incredible journey she’s been on.

Megan shares with us what matters to her, the importance of influencing social change, the Black Lives Matters Movement, the role the WNBA has played and how she herself has used her voice and her platform to raise awareness.  She talks about draft night, how she’s learned to dominate in any arena, what motivates her, her most memorable basketball moment and how she made history by leaving UCONN after three years and declaring for the draft.

She tells us her dreams for life after basketball, her ambition to take on a role in law enforcement, maybe with the FBI, and how through it all she wants is to make a difference.
