A couple of former All-Stars returned to the Dodgers lineup and were the best hitters in a week that ended with a four-game winning streak. It followed a four-game losing streak, which included a three-game sweep by the division-rival Padres and the Cubs throwing a no-hitter at Dodger Stadium. That skid was called “embarrassing” and “a wake-up call” by the team.
