Episode description

Fred Allen Show-370317-St. Patrick's Day Show(1hr) Fred Allen born May 31st, 1894 and sadly passing on St. Patrick's Day 1956. Mostly remembered as in line with many other comedians in the era of Old Radio>including Grouch Marx, Red Skelton & Bob Hope. Allen & his wife Portland Hoffa were apart of the 'duet comedians' too, much like>George Burns and Gracie Allen & Jack Benny and Mary Livingstone. In fact there was a long running feud/gag between Allen & Benny on air. Actually they were good friends behind the microphone. Join Fred with his edgy style of humor with his salute to St. Patrick's Day with this episode from his early days in 1937.      Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
