General Skating News

• The ISU announced the senior Grand Prix skating events, including the final.

• Former ISU President Ottavio Cinquanta has died at the age of 83.

• The ISU posted an article about the newest ISU Figure Skating member, Peru, which is the fourth South American country to become a full member after Argentina, Brazil and Chile.

• Montreal figure-skating coach Karel Vosátka died May 27 at age 92. In 1963, Karel invented the short program.

• There will be a master class with Zachary Donohue and Chantelle Kerry at Extreme Ice Center in Indian Hills, North Carolina.

• Skate Detroit takes place July 20-23 in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Livestreaming for the event is $29.95 for four days for both rinks. 

• Skate Ontario’s first Sectional Series competition is July 22-24 in Waterloo, Ontario. The event should be livestreamed on Skate Ontario’s DailyMotion channel

• Skate Canada’s NextGen Team Camp Simulation competition is  in Waterloo, Ontario, July 22-25. The event should be livestreamed on Skate Ontario’s DailyMotion channel

• 2022 U.S. Collegiate Championships and Collegiate Invitational takes place July 22-24 in Richfield, Minnesota

• 2022 Sun Valley Summer Championships takes place July 19-24 in Sun Valley, Idaho.
