Yeah, you know, And today's the first day we get to talk about a new watch, A news watch. Would you call this news? Oh, it's a news watch. Oh no. And then news. Watch News Watch. News Watch. OK, overnight for us, at least
while we were sleeping. Yeah, while we were sleeping, Blancpon and Swatch announced the Blancpon Swatch scuba 50 Fathoms, Ocean of Storms. It's a moon Swatch, but that goes diving. It's. A diving diving. I know. Actually, it's a moon diving Swatch. I'm always moon diving swatching for. Those of you who have not looked into this yet, it is a new color of the Scuba 50 fathoms. It is called the Ocean of storms for a a very to me, a very strange reason. Oh OK, And that new color is black.
So this is like the. Color. Very classic. It looks the most like the original 50 fathoms. Yeah, because when you pick an ocean from the moon, then you have to make it the most classic version because you're like, OK, moon ocean just. OK, OK, we we have to explain. So the Ocean of Storms is. The Ocean of Storms is a lunar mare on the moon, but a lunar mare is like a basalt plains, so there's not like a lot of water involved as you would think of a normal ocean.
There is no water, OK? NASA has confirmed that there is water on the moon frozen into some of the rock. But this ocean of storms was made by lava. And you cannot swim in it. But that's fine. Because I mean, yeah, you can't swim that deep with this. Anyway, you could surely swim the plains of the moon, OK? You know, I I wonder actually. Probably. Yeah. Will this case actually pop apart in a vacuum? I don't. Know definitely 100 I I'm going to place the bet now.
Hermetically sealed plastic case, Yeah, Yes. OK. So it's a new color. It's a black one. Obviously we we have various thoughts on it. OK, the look is great though. The no. I mean, this is really cool. This is a great look. Which makes me wonder. So we're four months since the launch and this one comes out. And when they did the launch, it was clear, like, OK, at some point you're going to get, you know, a a, a more, just actually you're going to get a black one, right, A more standard.
Looking maybe you think that was clear because I that was not clear to me. Because I feel like they're always going to want. To cater to, to, to. The people who want like, OK, this one is easy to wear for anyone at any time. And that's going to be Gray, black, you know, very neutral, muted colors that look more like the standard. Yeah, a steel case with black details. So to me they were just saving it. But it's like, how long do you
save it for? And four months seems strange to me. That seems a little too quick even, but it might be part of the original plan. Yeah, it's hard to know, but it does. Yeah. I mean obviously like the blancpawn 50 Fathom scuba it it's it hasn't done as well as the moon Swatch. But they knew that. There's. No way that anyone thought it
was going to be the. But maybe they still thought it would be really you know, like it's not going to be moon Swatch level, but it's going to be, you know, hitting a lot of great targets that they had and then they're like, oh, it's time to pull out the moon because the oceans ain't working the. Oceans aren't working. Let's take this moon crater and release the black one. It looks fantastic. I think it's probably going to be the most successful model.
I I I like some of the original colors, but this this is kind of cool, so go check that out. OK, 2024. Wait, I had one more thought on this. OK, because now they've done the core color. So like with the moon Swatch the the mission to the moon which did fall outside of all the planets. So I mean this kind of fits that. Yeah. That's a bit if you if you're using planets. And. Moon, Planet and moon, oceans and moon. I mean, it's not that different. They just. Add a moon to. Everything.
You just add a moon. So if they do the pilot Swatch, then it'll be like a. Continent to the moon? Yeah, of course. Continents and moon. But so my thought is then all of the limit. Because this watch is not a limited edition, this goes into the collection. All of the limited editions have been around the mission to the moon. So is this the watch that will bring the limited editions, limited editions? And they're going to be about Jupiter's ocean and like like planet oceans.
Oh wait, but not not a planet ocean. Sorry, Omega, no. But it also. But it could. What if it's actually only oceans of moons of planets? Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Like the Jupiter's moon, Jupiter's planets, Yeah. I mean, The thing is, it's a mouthful so but it. Already is 1 Pond Swatch Scuba, 50 Fathoms, Ocean of Storms. But anyway, I'll just say my prediction is the limited editions, if they do any, will come from this model. OK, well that actually
completely makes sense. Yeah, maybe this is the left one. It's a big prediction. Well, very controversial. I feel you might be right on this one. 2024, yes, is the Year of the Dragon by the Zodiac calendar, the lunar calendar. I don't What sound does a dragon make? Well, you know, Dragons like they. Breathe fire. That's the thing I meant in movies. I meant in movies. What sound does a dragon make? I have never personally. Met. Or heard a dragon. OK.

As to people who are not Year of the Dragon, we can very confidently say you're the Dragon. It's just the coolest. It's so cool, so cool. Everything's cooler. And. You're a snake, so I honestly don't feel bad for you because I am a little bun bun at. Least a bun. Bun is cute. Yeah, I know. Snake It's like you don't trust them. Slytherin around the floor. Sounds like Boo. That's, yeah, Don't. Trust them slithers around. The floor. Lydia jumps around and eats
carrots. Yeah, not accurate at all. So OK, with Lunar New Year coming up, February 10th is Lunar New Year this year. There have been a bunch of cool releases around this year, the Dragon theme, and I think there's probably more this year. Yes, there'll definitely be more because I mean it's February 10th is the Lunar New Year. So we still have some time. So I'm excited to see what else comes. Yeah, but. All some cool things. We have some cool ones.

Well, we're still talking about Swatch. So much Swatch today. But they have 5 different ones that like different sizes. One's a chronograph, one's just gigantic, and one has their pay feature, so it's called dragon in Wind pay. But they're all different colors.
They're kind of cool. I I I enjoy the art style on these. I think they're really fun, but the one that I'm excited about most, most excited about so far is the IWC Portuguese Portuguese chronograph You're the Dragon. It's limited to 1000. It's just beautiful, A burgundy, gorgeous burgundy dial with gold accents. And I I think it's really cool they chose to have a dragon on the back. On the rotor. On the rotor versus putting the dragon on the front.
So I think that makes it just more more versatile and something that you could wear more often And it just looks really. I mean, this is like a handsome watch like it's. Beautiful. The burgundy dial with gold indices and hands is beautiful, but it also it's so Lunar New Year to me. Yeah, it really does look it. Feels like, OK, this is the kind of watch you wear at very specific occasions.
It has a vibe now. I'm half Asian, I grew up with some of this, so I have a very distinct feel around these colors. But I I I love this watch. Very specific, I love that. Another really cool one Quorum released like the Bubble Dragon More limited. This one's limited to 88, it's one of their bubble models which is this really interesting and and quite large cases, although now it's they offer it in 4247 and 52 millimetres. But the main thing is this. Dragons look cool and Dragons
look cool and cool. I'm getting a little. Too bogged down in the details, but the Dragon on the Quorum is really beautiful, so it's an all Black Watch with this gold dragon. Yeah, it's really. Stunning, special looking. And then Jacob and Co always does a really special super limited This is only 8, but the dragon is like coming through the the watch face. It kind of like going around it and it just looks incredible. Yeah, really, really cool. So go check those out.

And Monday's episode was about setting the time. Do you set the time on your watch? And how accurately VU is highly accurate VU. I'm calling it VU Level Accuracy. I'm somewhat loosey Goosey. It was loosey goosey, decent person. And then I don't know, I don't know about these other people
who who never although. Never set is not very no. Some people clicked never set on but you. Do not believe. Them. No. So we we got like, I don't know in total around 200 responses. And out of that there were three who said never. I I don't know if they're actually nevers or if they just are agents of chaos and want to make it seem like there are never people, but the by far the most common response was always to the second. Yes, Vu. Level accuracy.
VU level accuracy. See what you did to me people. Now I have to hear. That vindicated. We got some. Loosey goosey. We have some loosey goosey's. Here we we had a lot of loosey Goosey's and I and I found it interesting to hear people like we got also a lot of comments about this and people saying a lot of different things but kind of all end up in the well, it depends almost everyone, even people who are like I set the
time accurately. If I'm running late, then I don't set it at all until later, so I'm calling you a loosey goosey because you're wearing an unset watch, yeah? I think, as with most things, it really does depend. I thought. Winds me up also had a which is sauna. She left a comment that I thought encapsulated a lot of people's thoughts. She said always set the time, never to the second date is a complete different matter. We'll have to have an episode about date. I'm actually pretty specific
about date. I mean it's not that it's like 1, it's there's only specific or not specific. Either you set the date. Or you don't. Look, I set the date to the second, OK to the second the level precision on the date. Well done, well done. One of my favorite comments was from my dad who sent me a message who and IA message and said I set my watch 2 minutes ahead while I wear one. Just an old habit. Guess I fit into the loosey goosey category.
Thanks dad, I'm happy to be a loosey goosey with you. But then I asked him like, why 2 minutes ahead? And this I was like, whoa, he said. Many years ago when he was working in insurance, everyone in sales set 2 to 5 minutes ahead, then pretended that was the real time. So we would always be under mental pressure to be early for everything that is like. I think that that was much more common before. Because I. Did that too. OK. So I used to have a problem.
This is when I was like a teenager, I and and past that I'd have a problem being late. So I'd set both my my desk clock and my watch. Fast a few minutes. Early to try to to. Try to like. Trick myself. The problem is, it's really hard to trick yourself. You're so smart. Yeah, I'm. I'm way too smart to be tricking. Myself, I can't trick myself.
So I would like I'd set it 5 minutes fast, but then after a week I'd be like, OK, I I'm just subtracting that 5 minutes, all right, I got to do five more and then it'd be 10 minutes and then it'd be 15 and not long after I'd be 30 minutes fast and then it'd be like, OK, let's start this over and then I'd go back to 0. Well, here's a last fact that blew my mind when I was looking this up. You can change the time on your Apple Watch. What? You can change.
Well, why would you? Because of this sort of wanting to set it a few minutes early, you can add minutes. I'm against this for. Some reason I have to say I'm against this too because I was like but this is the. One accurate. Thing it's the thing I don't have to set to the seconds because it did it for me. It's digital, it is connected, it can be the right time all the time and you're telling me there's an option to just run that? Which I love.
